It was one of our hotel, GV's recommendation. You go up to a second floor and bustling scene with formally dressed waiters. We share the zucchini flower as an appetizer which was amazing. My BF had steak and I had sea bass with caviar. It was one of the best sea bass I have ever had. My dessert was amazing as well anything with fresh berries is winner for me. Highly recommend for date night.

Yummy doesn't do this palace of edible deliciousness justice. Either my #1 or #2 Paris extravagant evening out for gourmet cuisine. And in 2021 Lasserre does not let me down.

Let me first start off by saying that I absolutely hate tourist attractions! And for the longest time that's what I thought of Lasserre. Trendy area, Uber French, etc. My Fiancé (who is French), made reservation and I was a bit annoyed. Then we showed up. I have got to say that this was one of my most favorite meals in Paris- if not the best. Waiters in tuxedos, staff hustling and bustling and everyone is very attentive. The service was so amazing I forgot I was in France! Then comes the food. Absolutely amazing. We started with the poached egg with artichoke and black truffle- heavenly! Followed by the duck a l'orange. Possibly the best duck I've ever had including Peking duck in Peking. Don't miss this. The dessert is equally as impressive, we had the special with pear and ice cream. I can't stop raving about this place. I will be back!

Excellent. We booked our lunch at Lassere--of all days--on Quatorze Juillet, so we were detained for 40 minutes behind a barricade on the Champs Elysees while Macron and Trump practiced their signature handshake moves. While late, the staff at Lassere couldn't have been more gracious about our predicament. We were escorted in a small elevator up to the dining room whereupon the doors open, diners look up to see who has entered, and you are shown to your table. The dining room is a beautiful jewel box, with a roof that opens and closes to reveal the summer sun and cooing of rooftop doves. The aviary theme plays out on individual bird statuettes on the dining tables. And the food! Unforgettable. To start, the mushroom and eggplant with pistachio nuts. I had the fish as a main course with an orange sauce that was full of fresh orange flavor--tangy, sweet, concentrated. My husband had the lamb and loved it. We had an apricot confection for dessert. The sommelier was knowledgeable and helpful, and the wait staff were professional and very nice and understanding about our late arrival.

Always enjoy saying "that was one of the best meals of my life!"

You know you're going to have outstanding service when there are more wait staff than guests at a restaurant. At Lasserre, you are even escorted to the restroom, which is down a small, quaint elevator. We tried just about everything and if I had to choose just one menu item to have again, it would be the macaroni & cheese with black truffle and foie gras. This is a dish I would eat daily, if possible. Very curious to learn how they fill each piece of pasta all the way through before stacking them beautifully on the plate. The wine list, as expected, is impeccable. Some rare bottles that went back to the early 1960's - through to some more affordable options. An interesting feature about the building is their retractable roof that opened and closed throughout the meal, letting in a new light and fresh air.

    The Roof

Lasserre is truly a unique dining experience that makes you feel like royalty. My husband and I recently ate here during our honeymoon trip to Paris and the food is absolutely delicious! This was the best meal of my life and I'm sure my husband would agree. The old world elegant ambiance is breathtaking. Upon entering, the long carpeted corridor leads into a velvet padded elevator which is operated by an attendant (yes, you need to take the elevator upstairs to the restaurant). The entire dining area is adorned with large, white orchids, antique furniture, and a retractable roof! The roof opens and closes during dinner every few minutes or so and you get a moment's glimpse of the gorgeous night sky. The tables and chairs are spaced well and situated in such a way that allow for a great view of the entire room. And after all, what's not to love about a Michelin star restaurant that was visited by Audrey Hepburn and Salvatore Dali? The waitstaff, dressed in black tuxedos (I love bow ties), were very attentive. Something I found interesting, they have blind menus for ladies. I had never experienced that before in the United States. While we were reading the menus, I asked my husband why there weren't any prices listed and he said his menu did have prices, showed me and we both laughed. I suppose it's tradition in the fancier French restaurants. We had their famous black macaroni with truffles and foie gras and it was excellent! I did not know if I would like it since I've never had it before and I absolutely love it. Isn't it great to discover new favorite dishes? We also enjoyed the beef filet entree with puffed potatoes and a chocolate soufflé dessert. The beef was very juicy and everything was cooked to perfection. Very expensive dinner but worth it. Bottom line, this place is a dream. If we ever get the chance to return to Paris, we would definitely dine here again.

The cheese soufflé and French onion soup combo was a great appetizer to our meal. It also came with a couple bites of salad. I didn't have French onion soup until this meal, so I was really looking forward to it and it did not disappoint! The beef bourguignon soufflé was absolutely delicious as well and packed with flavor. The soufflé Grand Marnier was a perfect end to our meal, the liqueur added a nice alcoholic taste to the soufflé and is a great addition if you're looking for just a bit of alcohol in your system. The soufflés are the perfect size for sharing, so I would recommend doing that and trying a variety of dishes. Le Soufflé was a unique French dining and I would absolutely recommend them!

We enjoyed our dinner on the outside of the restaurant after about a 20-30 minute wait. The bone marrow had the best flavor I've experienced for the dish. However, it is definitely overshadowed by the rich flavor of the foie gras. This experience was unforgettable, with our view of Parisian streets on a brisk, April night. We even came back on our last night, but didn't realize the hours on Google maps was for the deli. The restaurant closes earlier, before 9:00 PM. First, the cheese failed to emit the baked, melted gruyere cheese, there is no aroma at all. I don't think they used gruyere cheese. May be mozzarella cheese. The worst part was the bread in the soup. It tasted stale which ruin the flavor of the soup. I had to finish without the bread. Escargot - Another disappointment. What made escargots special was the garlic butter and herb. Here, there were the herbs, no garlic, and French is famous with their butter but I taste oil but not buttery. Other places I actually get excited dipping the bread into the garlic butter but not here. Pan seared Foie gras - The quality of Foie Gras was definitely there. It's not as well seared as I hope but they managed to cook it through without overcooking it. The size of Foie Gras is kind of scary, it's like a small piece of rib eye steak. With just the onion soup and Foie Gras, I could barely swallow anything. Generous portion.

The only thing is we had miscommunication with the waitress about drinks. We asked for water (l'eau) but they gave us distilled water in a bottle which costed us 8 euros. I learned it's important to learn to specifically ask for carafe d'eau (tap water in French) to get free water! Felt a bit bad that we were overcharged.
