Great wine and spirits shop with well curated selection of interesting beverages. Great selection of sparkling and champagne, aperitifs and bitters. Also some nice chocolates and other goodies for hostess gifts, etc. All the delicious consumables. Helpful and friendly staff.

St. James Cheese Company was a lifesaver during my conference trip. The only thing I remembered…read moreabout New Orleans was how unbelievably hot it was! Many restaurants were closed, and we were so glad we stumbled upon this place. Honestly, I could eat here every day. On my first visit, I ordered the Smokey Blue Sandwich ($14) with roast beef, house-smoked blue cheese, tomato, greens, and Worcestershire mayo. It had everything I love in a sandwich--fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. I finished every bite. I came back again and ordered the Tomato Soup ($10) and the Charred Cabbage Caesar Salad ($14) with romaine, charred cabbage, Parmesan, and white anchovies. The salad was packed with flavor, and the tomato soup was rich, comforting, and absolutely delicious. You really can't go wrong with either. If you're looking for something quick, fresh, and genuinely tasty, make sure to stop by. It's the kind of place you'll be happy you found--and probably end up visiting more than once.

I had the turkey deli sandwich and I felt that it was nothing special. The turkey meat seemed to be on the cheaper side and I wouldn't get it again. The place came recommended but I'd personally find another deli.

They have several flavors of individually-wrapped full-size pralines and offer boxes of three (and it's a beautiful box) at no upcharge. They also carry some non-praline items like local hot sauces and spices. All the items are priced incredibly affordably, especially compared to other praline and gift shops I checked out! I stocked up on a bunch of items here to bring back home as gifts and personal treats. The woman working behind the counter was lovely. She overheard me expressing interest in one flavor of praline and promptly cut one up for me to sample, and she also noticed one of the pralines she picked out for a box was broken and immediately switched it out for another one. Definitely make a stop here if you're looking for souvenirs or just to sample some famous pralines.

The pecan brittle was delicious with the perfect crunch. The pistachio chocolate had a rich, great flavor, and the chocolate crisp was absolutely awesome. They also offer local honey and several other unique treats, so there's plenty to choose from. Another plus is the location--it's just a short walk from Bourbon Street, making it an easy stop while exploring the French Quarter. Definitely worth checking out if you're in New Orleans.

I came across Welty's in an interesting way. I asked ChatGPT to recommend local spots for a…read more50-person volunteer box lunch order at work, and it flagged Welty's as a strong contender based on Google reviews. So I figured I'd do a trial run first. Food (7/10) They wouldn't let me order a single box lunch, so I pieced together a comparable meal: a ham and cheese sandwich with chips, plus a cookie purchased separately. A few things stood out. First, there were no condiments included, so the sandwich was noticeably dry by the time I got back to the office -- something worth flagging for anyone ordering for an event. That said, the meat portion was generous, which I appreciated. It came with Miss Vickie's Sea Salt chips; I'm not sure if other flavors were available, but none were offered. The cookies came three to a container, roughly 3-inch chocolate chip, and were ok. The total with tax came to $21 for the sandwich, chips, and cookies. This doesn't seem like a good value, since I can get a combo meal from Espresso Express in the Entergy building for $12.50, and it comes with a sandwich, chips, cookie and drink--canned, bottled water or iced tea. I also wasn't able to try the fruit cocktail, so that remains an unknown. The meal came in a standard clear plastic container. While functional, it wasn't remarkable. For a catered event where appearance matters, it doesn't quite measure up to what competitors like Jason's Deli or The Honey Baked Ham offer in terms of packaging and visual appeal. Service (6/10) One person greeted me warmly when I walked in by describing their sweet treats. Everything else, unfortunately, fell flat. The cashier didn't acknowledge me and was noticeably unfriendly, and this was only about 20 minutes after opening, with no one else in line. A man came out from the back and just stared at me. The overall energy was one of visible surprise at my presence. I'll leave it at that, because I can't read minds. What I can say is that I've encountered this particular brand of unwelcome before, in situations where I didn't fit the profile of the customer they seemed to expect. Make of that what you will. Ambiance (8/10) It's clean and tidy. It's a food court. Bottom line: The food shows promise, but the service experience gave me pause, both in terms of hospitality basics and something that felt more personal. Worth trying for yourself and drawing your own conclusions.
