Randomly came here to watch the game. It wasn't very busy so that was a plus. We don't drink beer, but we saw they had wine on the menu and that was enough for us lol. Food was great though. The fish tacos and shrimp were delicious and the Brussel sprout tacos were my favorite! The staff wasn't rude but made no effort to even smile or speak except to take orders(that makes all the difference)... and maybe work on keeping the tables a little cleaner, that would be my only complaints. Just discovered Port Orleans Brewing on Tchoupitoulas, and it was such a pleasant surprise. Parking is limited to street parking, but we managed to find a spot just a block away. As you walk in, there's a charming front porch seating area that opens into the interior, which features a full bar and plenty of seating--plus a cozy lounge area with a couch. Ordering at the bar was quick and easy, and our food arrived at the table in about ten minutes. We tried the Carnitas Nachos and the Hawaiian Chicken Quesadillas. The nachos were decent, but the quesadilla was the real standout. Who knew chipotle chicken, pineapple, and jack cheese would make such an incredible combination? The atmosphere was relaxed, and I especially loved the front porch seating at night when everything was lit up. I highly recommend this spot for date nights or group meetups. read more

This place!!! I have given them numerous tries and they have been hit or miss. Let's talk food first. Is it possible to use cheaper ingredients. Bland and very oily. Beer selection was very limited and two choices on their board were can. Who goes to a brewery to drink can!!! Props on the wine and marg. Marg's needed more booze. Ambiance...this place will never be like it was before COVID. Here is a hint for summer in SE LA...it's called A/C. Place was hot as balls!!! Was cooler outside. Port Orleans was the first brewery I visited when I moved to New Orleans. They were open during Covid so it was a great escape from being at home and away from people. They have a wonderful array of beers, not so many IPAs but there's always at least one option. They also have Avo Taco which offers some of the best tacos in New Orleans. My staples when I come here is Queso and Elote Corn. Both have five stars from me! The Queso is super smooth and hot, with fresh chips to eat it with. The Elote Corn has the perfect amount of seasoning to really give it flavor! I have also enjoyed Taco Tuesdays with their 3/$12 taco special. Port Orleans also hosts a lot of events throughout the year which makes your visit that much more fun. Drinks: Lots of beer options! I love checking out breweries wherever I visit. This one had plenty of space with indoor, patio, and outdoor with games to play with the family. They had a bounce house, corn hole, etc. there was plenty of seating as well. There were multiple types of beer to try (as expected). I enjoyed an IPA and my boyfriend got a sour mango beer. It's not my type of beer but it was definitely different and I encourage everyone to try it. read more

The front porch is welcoming and had it not been cold, we would have enjoyed the outdoor seating. Indoor seating was just as comfortable and quaint. The back of the house where the "real work" is done is cool to see while enjoying your brews and food. It was my husband, my sister and my first time visiting and Nikki was the best. She was knowledgeable about the beers and the descriptions of them. I'm a sour beer drinker so I had the Head Shrink Blue Raspberry Candy Sour. It is JUST as the name says, sour candy. So refreshing! *smacks lips* My husband had French coffee stout and the lavish latte. He enjoyed both, saying the description was the perfect fit. My sister had a daiquiri and the ABV was just what she needed. *winks* As snacks, we got green chili queso and guacamole with pico de gallo. Perfect combo with the beers. One of the coolest things is if they don't have a draft in a can, they can make you a single or a four pack on the spot. I wanted to take a few of the sours home but we're visiting and having to fly back. When we come back, we will definitely be back. read more

Port Orleans Brewing is the New Orleans brewery I end up going to the most frequently out of all the breweries in NOLA. That might have something to do with the fact that I don't live very far away and it also is connected to the fact I find most of the beer here better than that at other breweries on average. The food space here is rented out to Avo Taco which has some decent to good tacos and other Mexican style food but I've found their burgers to not be among my top choices in the NOLA area. So if you are in the mood for some tacos the food here should work out for you pretty well although nearby Barracuda tacos are my vote for the best tacos in the area. Overall this is a nice brewery with a lot of good spaces to enjoy yourself with both indoor and outdoor patio spaces. I have been here a lot and always had a good time with no complaints. This is the first time I had to send my food back twice because it was cold. The 3rd time they brought back a tray with everything separated and it was all still cold. We had ordered nachos. Even the cheese was cold. Really disappointed and we weren't about to send it back a third time since it already seemed like an inconvenience to the staff. Maybe it was an off day. read more

They have fun with their beers and have some really nice options. I've been here several times. The beer is always good. They have different areas which are awesome. An outdoor area with picnic tables and open space, a covered front porch area with street views and nicely appointed indoor areas. I've always been a fan of Port Orleans since my first visit. They have a rotating selection of beers brewed in house. My personal favorite at the moment is the Oktoberfest, even if it's August and still in the 90s. You can't go wrong with the Jax beer, too. If you remember the old days, it's the same recipe and tastes just right. The staff is always friendly, especially when it's slow inside but also when they're busy. One thing that's important to know, they used to sell their beers in stores, but earlier this year they stopped, so the only way to have them is at the brewery now. They do sell beer to go, along with THC seltzers and a few NA options. If I had to make one complaint (and it's not even that serious of a complaint) it's that a lot of the beers are very high alcohol content. They have always been delicious when I've tried them but if I drink two of them the night is over! They are really good though. There is a good restaurant inside called Avo Taco. I haven't been there in a while so I will do a separate review later, or just try it while you're there! read more

Heading to a concert at Tipitina's and this was close for a quick beer before the show. Really nice brewery. Very dog friendly as well as kid friendly. Nice selection of brews but no regular IPAs. Just hazy ones which I like but was not in the mood Staff was great and there is pinball and an outdoor area with basketball for the kids. The beer I had was tasty and not over priced. We are in town for a conference and we had an evening event happy hour planned here. Great setup, we were outside and while it rained, we had enough space for people to go in and find room to sit and stay dry. Very pleased with the service. We received excellent service from Rick and Julian at the bar. The feedback I got was that people really enjoyed the food and drinks here. I was very impressed with the way the food was delivered quickly and thank the event coordinator Andrew for his help. (Go Cubbies!) We got out of there shortly after 8. Got a ride home and I'm ready to relax it's been a long day. But had to give a shout out to the team here for putting on a kick ass event for us. Support small owned businesses! read more

The beer is mediocre to quite good (particularly the Porty), but that's the best part of the place. Ambience looks okay at first glance but is ultimately disappointing. The outside is a bit uncomfortable and the inside is a bit crowded despite space being enough to make that surprising. That said, I'm prompted to write this review because of a number of bad service experiences. Whether it was poorly labeled (or simply unwritten) rules, or badly signed private parties I've had a number of poor customer service experiences here and it's especially galling with so many options with better service around. Unless you have a compelling reason to go I'd consider their competitors on Tchoup first. read more

I have sped past this brewery on numerous occasions. With so many breweries in the city now, it's been hard trying to visit them all. Lol. My coworker and I decided to go here after visiting a different brewery with okay beer and no food...no shade. Lol. I absolutely love the set up. The indoor and outdoor spaces are very inviting. Great place for any size group. The kitchen was about to close, but they were able to squeeze our order in. Beer was cold and crisp! The tacos hit the spot. Place was so fun we visited twice during our 5 day stay during Jazz Fest. Lots of good beer on tap and some cans as well. We enjoyed the selection of sours. Patio out back -- but plenty of room in the large space indoors where AVO TACO turns out a selection of food for all. Dog friendly too and the servers were helpful as well. Stopped by this brewery on a Saturday afternoon in May. Only stayed for one drink but it was very good. I ordered the Crushable Hard Orange Soda. It was very refreshing and crushable, indeed. Recently came here for the first time during an extremely cold week. My group was pretty large (10 people) and we wanted to find a place that accommodate that size while also potentially being outside. Port Orleans has both! There's seating for a group this size both indoors and outdoors. Despite the cold, we were able to comfortably sit outside because of the fire pit / heaters. I really like their outdoor seating area! Things to note: the tacos are good! And there are at least 4 vegetarian options, many pescatarian options and at least 2 tacos that can be made vegan without the crema. The elote was really really salty. I don't know if this is how they're made here of if maybe they were just at the bottom of their bottle of Tajín, which is mainly salt. But I actually couldn't eat it :( Also, the food and bar are separate tabs! I kind of wish that weren't the case, they make it SUPER easy to order food to your table with a little QR code. That is to say: no one is explicitly coming around to take your order so bring your phone!! Cool place overall. Will definitely be going back read more

This local brewery hosted a Chewbacchus throw swap which made for a wonderful introduction. Plenty of seating both inside and out. I mingled with space, magical and fantasy nerds who love beer and then made my way to the bar. There was indeed a beer for all. The one thing that I loved was that I could SEE the gigantic menu very clearly with all the necessary info, sizes, prices, alcohol content. I was able to make a decision BEFORE I stepped up. So nice! Lots a kiddos about for a family friendly atmosphere. Reminds me of family rooms in pubs in England. That's cool, I wanna hang with my friends with families. Street parking and my advice is to park on the same side as the brewery, even if you have to walk a bit. Tchoupitoulas can be a little treacherous to cross, in my humble opinion. read more

If y'all know me, you know sour neon gummy worms are my favorite candy ever... so ya know I had to come try Port Orleans' sour gummy beer! I loved it 6% ABV- Very Berry Gummmy Worm Sour! They took the best of the bunch... the red/blue sour gummies and turned it into a beer! It was so delicious. Also their patio area is so cute! They have outdoor seating, tv, and darts.
