I try to schedule a visit to Keifer's every time I visit home in Jackson. I started going in high school and went often until I moved out of state. Ten years later, they still make consistently high quality Greek food. I always get a chicken gyro and cottage fries. Washed down with a beer in an ice cold glass, it's a tasty, satisfying meal. I do miss the old location across the street, before it was a medical plaza, because it had a great porch covered with vines, but the new one is nice to sit on when the weather is nice. read more

Keifer's is the number-one place we recommend to anyone who asks where they should eat in Jackson. We have been coming here regularly since Keifer's was located at its old location across the street. The food is always fantastic! We have never had anything we didn't like. They are known best for their gyro and cottage fried potato, but everything on the menu is delicious! I saw this place on an article about the top sandwiches in MS. We all had the original gyro but with feta dressing instead of tatziki. The meat was tender and flavorful, the pita was soft and chewy, and the portion was big. It was delicious. I also loved the patio. Keifers is definitely one of the best finds in the Jackson area. Their staff is always friendly, and it has a wonderful, chill environment both indoor and outdoor. I have tried many of their different wraps, and none have ever disappointed. My all time favorite is the Turkey Melt. Their feta dressing is the equivalent of liquid gold. I highly recommend ordering cottage fries with a side of feta!! Those things are huge, so I suggest splitting it with someone. Keifer's, you were my first so I remembered you as the best. My memory is either faulty or you are just a shadow of your former self. The cottage fries were a study in excessive grease. The suvlaki wrap was chockfull of iceberg lettuce, skimpy on the beef and barely any dressing. The service was absent. This place used to be my favorite Greek restaurant. As soon as I walked in the door I was met with looks that were almost hostile, not a single smile from anyone behind the counter, the quite big lady at the cash register had a very unfriendly tone of voice as well. The cottage fries were old and cracked at the touch, the straw wrappers were torn and open, and the rest was just okay. Someone also decided to spray very strong air freshener near our table while we were eating because someone had came through with a cigarette, which I didn't even notice, so the rest of the meal was like I was eating a chemical orange. It feels as if this place is under new management and that they do not care about their customers whatsoever. If you want Greek, please go to Athenos. I would not recommend this place to anyone anymore. Such a shame. read more

The food was good but the place reminded me of a food truck not a sit down restaurant. They obviously cater more to take out and aren't really equip esp late at night to serve tables. FYI they now also charge a cork fee if you bring a bottle of wine which we found out when we arrived (they didn't used to). The baklava was not that great, it was dry and it's not suppose to be. Keifers always, always has delicious food and fast service! Until Sunday,Dec. 30. We went for dinner and they were crowded. Took forever to get waited on, a long time to get food and then when food was finally served-only gyros were served, no fries were ready and salad wasn't ready and feta dressing was forgotten. . Then we noticed they brought 2 wrong gyros--notified waiter and 2 more wrong ones were brought out the next time. Also no one ever came to refill beverages- not even one time. So we went to water cart ourselves to refill and to beverage station to refill cokes. On the way out, we went to bathroom and they were out of toilet paper (which server replaced as soon as we told him). Just seemed to be a lot of disorder in the kitchen and with the wait staff and they were obviously understaffed in both areas. Which is highly unusual for Keifers. Hope this is just a hiccup and not the new norm! read more

Been eating here on and off for 25 years. Love the food, but the attitude and care of the waiter left much to be desired. Not a busy night. Was told to sit anywhere and they would bring us a menu. The waiter walked by three times, even making eye contact, but to no acknowledgement of my existence. He was too busy counting his tip from the other table. After fifteen minutes and three passes by the waiter we walked out. Not sure if I will be back, Unless I want to sit on the patio and die of starvation. I'm recently new to the area and had been wanting to branch out on my choices of food that I like. A couple of my friends suggested that we try Keifer's and I immediately fell in love. Every time I go, I get the Pita Club. It is absolutely the BEST! My friends and I also split the hummus as an appetizer and potato wedges with our meal. The food is top notch!! Had the Gyro, cottage fries, pita mas and coke....20.00. The Gyro was very good but everything else not so much. Cottage fries and pita mas very underwhelming. Not happy with food or service. I asked for my lamb cut straight from skewer but didn't get it. I got if from a pan with hard edges. The waiter said its straight from skewer I just looked at him and told him now I'm looking right at my food being prepared. If you know you can't do what the customer ask then say that. DON'T LIE. Then the remainder of my visit he never came back to my table to ask if I needed any thing ,dessert,etc nothing. Just dropped off a tea and kept going. nothing else. Poor customer service I wish they experience what we deal with just once. This happens quite often here. read more

I ate here for a late lunch on Sunday March 18, 2018 and it was excellent. I heard a lot about this place from friends so I decided to give it a try. The manager Cory was extremely friendly and made sure everything was okay for me and made me feel very welcomed. The entire staff was really nice and the place was clean as well.
