Decided I wanted to try something new today but wanted local, so I tried Lulu Kabab in Ridgeland. It's a pretty causal atmosphere, so I was surprised they offered table service. I seated myself and Morgan quickly greeted me and took my drink order. I give Morgan a lot of credit. She was the only server and the place was almost full. Only other employee was the gentleman behind the counter making the food. Morgan didn't miss a beat. I ordered the gyro lunch special, which came with a feta cheese salad, rice, fries or hummus. I went with the salad. It was the basic bagged lettuce with a feta dressing that seemed more on the vinaigrette side. I loved the dressing but wish I had more of it. I should have gone with the hummus but really wanted to taste the dressing. The gyro had plenty of meat but I was a little disappointed in the amount of onions, tomato, sauce and lettuce on it. I know most would be happier with more meat, but I'm not that big on a lot of meat. I will say the meat was very flavorful and I kind of liked the crispiness of the flatbread. The sauce could have had more flavor but it wasn't a deal breaker this go around since it wasn't a lot of it on the sandwich. I also ordered the baklava. It was warm when it arrived but had been overheated. Morgan noticed I deconstructed it to eat it and asked if she had overheated it. When I told her it was overheated but still tasted ok, she offered me another piece. I had eaten most of it so I refused the new piece. However, when she brought my ticket, she brought me another piece packaged to-go! It was such a nice gesture because I was finishing off the first one. Despite being the only one working the dinning room, she was still concerned about the food. Overall, it's a nice place to grab a quick lunch. Service is great and fast and I will walk my way through the menu to try some other things.

Foodie lunch meet. As always I really enjoyed the company! I ordered the gyro combo that came with the gyro meat and chicken shawarma. The gyro meat was so moist and both were full of flavor, love the thick cut gyro meat. The hummus was just right for me, not too tart to where I'd pucker up. Now the fried cheese, that was a winner! Absolutley LOVED it! The rice was a little different for me, I never had it with cinnamon before. Wished the salad had a little bit more dressing, but other than that, the service and my food was yum-o! Food: 4.7 Service: 5

Great stuff. First off, the folks there were super friendly and conversational. They're a family owned business that just opened about a month ago at the time this review was written. They were happy to answer questions about their specialties and even offered me a free sample of their beef and chicken gyro meat (delicious!). Their food that I tried was delicious because it was FRESH and all homemade. Mmmm that warm pita and light, fluffy hummus. I got a falafel pita with a side of tzaziki which was wonderful too--among the better falafel I've had around town if not the best. The baklava I had was flakey and holy cow... THE best I've ever had. Other side notes, the business was very clean and the wait staff friendly and polite as well. I could find no flaw. Will definitely be eating here again, and I highly recommend you give them a try too. Next time around I'll probably be getting a gyro because dang that meat was good.

Lulu is the freshest, most authentic Mediterranean food in the Jackson area! We love it for the food quality, taste, and huge selection of menu choices, not to mention the friendly staff! They are more than willing to answer any questions about the menu or their story. Finally, Lulu has THE BEST HUMMUS made fresh by Khalid. Lots of options for Vegetarians like me, too!

Visiting the area and wanted something different healthy and light. Mediterranean is what I was looking for and that's what I found. Multiple dishes, sandwiches and appetizers. Ordered a Salad with Gyro and was not disappointed of the well seasoned meat and portion size. The rest of the table ordered a Gyro sandwich, side of Hummus, Grilled Redfish, salad and chicken soup. Great selections and all plates were cleaned. Lol Food was delivered to our table with 10 minutes of ordering. Friendly staff, the cook is very knowledgeable of different cultures of Mediterranean foods.

Extremely pricey for the quantity they give. Taste is average. Would not return here or recommend to anyone.

The restaurant was slightly dim. I liked that. I don't like very bright establishments. The buffet was off near a wall. There was light music playing. The atmosphere was relaxed and nice. The restaurant was extremely clean. I ordered the Chicken Biryani (forgive me if I've spelled it wrong. I can never remember the spelling) and samosas. The chicken biryani was $17.99 and the samosas were $6.99. There was a considerable wait. I was there for a while. Its probably better to call in or place your order online first. The Chicken Biryani was different than what I'm use to. There was quite a bit of thin brown liquid at the bottom of the rice and I did not like that at all. The plate tipped and the liquid all poured out into the bag. The biryani was good. I had it with medium spice. However I did feel the sauce could have been thicker. I'm use to having it with either a thick sauce almost like a stew that comes with it as well as bigger pieces of meat. However this Biryani was different in that the meat was almost like a minced meat. There were tiny pieces of finely chopped chicken. Not those larger pieces I'm accustomed to that's served at Spice Avenue off of I55 in Jackson. So the juice at the bottom of the bowl and the tiny minced pieces of chicken I wish were different. I also wish the dish would have had a lot more of a robust flavor. When you mix in all that liquid it kills some of the spices. I've had biryani dishes that were bursting with flavor. This dish was good. But something was lacking. I'm sure it was the meat and the lack of a robust stewed like sauce with the meat. The meat in their biryani tasted like it was boiled in a flavorful water. Not stewed in a thick hearty robust sauce. The samosas were ok. I'm use to them having more flavor as well. I mean they were good in a way but the taste was a little off (I'm not sure where the tartness or the very slight vinegar taste comes from) and they also used a seasoning I'm not familiar with. So I ate one and had no interest in eating the other two. Also, the samosas could have used a bit more spice. Last, the young girl serving at the front did fine. She was attentive. I tipped her $3.00 cash. But she had a very peculiar way about her. As I was swiping my card I looked up suddenly and I caught her eyes. She was staring intensely at me and the look wasn't pleasant. It was a dirty look. Almost as if she was put off by me taking so long to swipe my card. You know the look when someone mean mugs you. When our eyes met she suddenly smiled awkwardly and the smile did not appear genuine at all. However I overlooked her and took a seat to wait on my meal. When one of the door dash workers came in I also caught that nasty glimpse from her staring at the door dash driver. I was watching her intensely at this point and I was watching her eyes. The eyes are the gateway to the soul. Or, as I would like to think, the heart. If you're a hostile, mean, nasty person.. it's hard to hide this in the eyes. I don't know this young lady. Again she was attentive. But the look she gave me (before quickly and awkwardly smiling at me when I caught it) and the door dasher tells me in my gut she's probably not a very kind person. Or she's condescending at the least. Overall I give the food and service a three.

Mississippi in general lacks diverse cuisine and you'd primarily find your local soul food or BBQ spot. I used to live in MS and before I wasn't vegan so I ate everything under the sun. Sad, tragedy, I know. I discovered this restaurant during the peak of my veganism. The fact that you can make any vegetarian dish vegan is rarity within itself, but at Taste of India they came through and made it happen! I ordered Daal Tadka mild spice level with naan. I was immediately told that the naan isn't vegan since it contains butter, but owner, Paramjit suggested an order of Tandoori Roti without butter. Both hit the spot and was extremely flavorful! I thought I was in Houston again eating this good delicious meal. In the past, I've tried the vegetable biryani. It's good too. My mum likes this place since I got her hooked on it. The samosas are freshly made too. Interiors of the restaurant is a bit sketchy and usually never has anyone dining in when I do a pickup order, but call ahead since the food is made to order. Friendly staff. Next door is an Indian market called a bazar. Huge parking lot.
