Showed up for an early Saturday lunch. Had never been here. The weather was nice so was sat outside where it was quiet and cool enough. Our server greeted us in a timely manner, got our drinks and took our orders. We both got salads and they were big, fresh and good. Server did a great job checking on us and refilling drinks. The music in the playlist was perfect. Some Thin Lizzy, Van Halen, ZZ Too and some Bocephus and other country as well. One big thing that needs changed is the mustard and ketchup selection. Been going there for years. Food quality and service have dropped dramatically. This was our second time to eat on the back patio where service was horrible. The first time, we did finally get waited on, but it took about 35 minutes. Today, we were seated on the patio (party of two). Multiple couples or small family groups were seated after us. They were promptly waited on and got food and drinks while we still sat there. I talked to no less than three of the wait staff working the area and to the guy who ran the cash register and seated us. Still, 10 minutes later and 30+ minutes after we were seated, someone finally showed up to see if we needed some water. We were on the way out and left. Terrible service. Terrible management. Food would probably have been ok, but..... we would have to be waited on to confirm that. There are many better places within a 1/4 mile where good food and service can be had. read more

FINALLY I got food worth getting again in MS, I've been here 6 months and it's been disappointment after disappointment. Until today the best thing I've had was Long Horn. Which isn't saying much. The authentic flavors just melted in my mouth. From the sweet potato fries to the well seasoned curly fries. I got the grilled chicken on a pita and a serving of falafel. Everything was on point. My husband got a gyro and was amazed with the authenticity of the meat. We haven't had that since leaving Chicago. Although it rained on us while eating we'll be back. read more

Cute little place with huge portions and a great menu! My husband isn't into Greek food, so he always gets the burger and raves about it. Their fries are SO good and I have liked every wrap I've ever tried. Beautiful salads too! Their little back patio is a cute and private outdoor dining area. The service is not always spot on, I will admit. I think they kind of stay a little short staffed maybe? Every time I go it's busy, though, so I wouldn't want to deduct points for service. read more

Kristos is great, but their only (and biggest) downfall is lack of consistency. I grab food to go here frequently, so this is not based off of one or two visits. I won't bore you with details, but I can order the lunch combination one day, and pay $12.00 (what it's supposed to be), and then be charged $13.21 the very next day for the exact same meal. When I pay $2 to sub in a Greek salad...I would expect the Greek dressing to be included, not ranch. Also, can't count how many times my drink order has been incorrect. All in all, their food is good, and everyone who works there is absolutely wonderful. But I can't get past the fact that what I get is usually not what I ordered. We went to this restaurant because on the website their menu looked great and it said "authentic Greek food with a festive setting" once we got inside the restaurant we should have left. Nothing was green about the place. Also nothing was festive . The place is decorated with childrens coloring book pages, and when I mean decorated I mean they are literally pasted all over the restaurant even in the hallway to the bathroom. Our food was edible but I said to my father I could have bought the ingredients at Costco down the street and my salad would have been more "Greek" and would have had more on it. Would not go back. Placed an order to go here and apparently this place is a hit! I was disappointed bcuz it was so busy that I couldn't get thru on the phone and had to drive there to place my order and they are so busy that it took 45 mins for my food to go. They just opened back up bcuz of covid19 so it was packed. Small nice cozy little spot..very friendly and welcoming staff even when they are slammed! Not too many seats for dining in tho. Now the food.. absolutely delish! I ordered 6 Kristo burgers with fries and a couple of the loaded fries and boy.. they did not disappoint!! It was very delish!!! I made an account just so I can leave this review. A group of friends and I visited Kristos around 5:30pm- only 3 tables seated including us. It was extremely hot inside, almost as if the air was broken or off. We decided to stay anyways just because we were trying to catch a movie and didn't have enough time to change restaurant locations. I want to start off by saying that there has not been a single time that I haven't found hair in my food. Whether is be fried into the curly fries, found in the feta sauce, or in the pitas. Plates and silverware are always dirty and have to be sent back- which is addressed with attitude from the waitstaff. This was and will be by final visit to this establishment. Seems like a bunch of high schoolers running this joint which could account for the poor customer service and food prep. Side note: One of the employees family or close friends (group of 4) came in while we were there and strangely enough were seated in the area where there was a wall air conditioning unit. ridiculous. read more

Today I visited Kristos for lunch at 12! My roommate and I had the grilled chicken gyro which was fine. However, she did not order the fries and they gave them to her anyway. We tried fixing this but I server, Shannon or Stephanie, had been gone for a while so she just ate them. Laterrrrrrr Shannon/Stephanie came back to our table and asked if we needed anything. I replied "May i please have a side of feta sauce?" she said sure. Maybe 15 minutes later, what looked like the MOD or Shift lead came out to hand me my Feta sauce. he apologized for the wait. We had to go to the counter to get our tickets because it took so long and guys, it's lunch time. I had to get back to work. Everything we ordered had zero flavor: meatballs, tzaziki sauce, salad, hummus, chicken gyro. None of it had any taste. If you actually do finish your meal (the annoying pop music blares), you will not have any remembrance of any flavors and will be full yet disappointed bcuz no flavors exist in their food. For basic americanized greek food in Jackson there are MUCH better options, and even those options aren't necessarily great. I generally find the food a bland compared to other places around here. With other options to go to, there is no reason to check this place out. I have been on a burger kick lately, so I ordered a burger. This ended my burger kick. Worst restaurant experience I've had in many years....maybe ever. Not sure I've ever been at a restaurant for 2.5 hrs and waited that long between touch points. The only bright moments was the service provided by our waitress when she was able to get to us. She was great but she told us they were short staffed. However even when the food came it was average at best. It would have been better for the manager to close off those sections with no wait staff and chosen happy customers over more revenue. Even though they gave us all free meals on our next return, I'll never go back. There are too many good Greek and Mediterranean restaurant choices in the metro where the food is better even if the staffing improves. read more

Ordered 3 salads to go and used the curbside pickup. Food arrived promptly but the first thing the deliverer says is "this is the price and I can figure the tip for you". I was startled at that and that the price was $8 more than stated on the phone. No problem, I dug out some more cash only to be told "oh, you're paying cash? I'll come back with your change and the tip amount". Really? I said just keep it and drove off. The salads definitely weren't what we have received in the past. I've dined at Kristos several times now both at lunch and dinner. One thing to remember is that, as the sign says, this is AmeriGreek, not traditional Greek food. There are many Americanized Greek items (or is it Greekized American items?) on the menu that would make it a good restaurant for those who aren't sure about eating Greek food. You can get a traditional Lamb Gyro with Tzatziki sauce and find it plentiful and tasty. They also have things like a Ham & Cheese Gyro, which clearly isn't traditional Greek fare! You can also get Redfish, Catfish Tacos, Shrimp Po-Boy, or a Cheeseburger here. There's something for everyone. I've had the Gyro, the Catfish Tacos, the Greek Quesadilla (love this one). They were all great, had good portion sizes, and are reasonably priced for Madison. The atmosphere is interesting. It is an old remodeled house. Some of the tables are pretty close together, but it doesn't seem to crowded. The also have an outdoor patio with a TV that is a GREAT place to dine when the weather is good. The service has improved since the new owners started changing things. The last several times I've been the waitresses have been great. read more
