My boyfriend and I were planning on buying a house within the next couple of years. Through our local community, we took a "First Time Home Buyers" class on FEBRUARY 10th (dates are key!), which is where we met Brandon Leon with SunCal. Keith and his entire team at Alpine Mortgage were superb! Professional, knowledgeable, timely, and flexible. At the outset, Keith quickly had our VA eligibiiity reinstated, which had been in limbo for more than 25 years. Before even making a commitment to do the refi, he provided us with a detailed breakdown of the outlook, showing an estimated $600 per month savings. It only got better from there. At our first meeting, after realizing I was a disabled vet, he had the VA funding fee waived, saving us more than $9000 in closing fees. He gave us valuable tips on the appraisal which was ordered and accomplished immediately, with the numbers coming in much better than anticipated. All required documentation was clearly spelled out and could be provided in almost any format. Right in the thick of things, they were very flexible to accommodate a family emergency, but still maintained close watch on the interest rate lock period and amazingly pulled together the closing on a Friday evening at our house, all on about three hours notice! Not only did Keith and his team hit the $600 monthly savings, but also put $3000 more cash in our pocket at closing than expected. Keith and his team are exceptional. When I first spoke with Keith, I was up front and told him I was in the market and would be weighing my options. All said and done, it came down to two providers - Keith and another. We saw our house on Friday and were prepared to make an offer over the weekend. I had to make a decision fast and went with the other provider. I explained the decision to Keith on Monday and he completely understood and wished me luck.
