We are so glad we did! The photos turned out so beautiful that we decided to use them as our maternity pictures. Our photographer, Obrayan, was patient, kind, and incredibly helpful throughout the shoot. He had even researched and saved several maternity poses for us to try, which made the experience so much easier. He helped us with our posing and was open to trying new, fun shots, including some in the ocean. This is a great option for vacation, maternity, or any special occasion, and you can't beat the stunning beach location!

The process was fast and simple--find an available date on their calendar, and either pay a deposit or the full amount. We booked a mini session. For a family of 3-6, the shoot is 30 minutes and you receive 20 photos. In addition to that, I added the sneak peek package. Since we were visiting Kauai from California, I did what most people would do when they vacation--check the weather app. It showed rain for the entire week! You can imagine how devastated I felt. I sent an email and asked for their recommendation on how to proceed. They reassured me that island weather is pretty tricky and no weather app is ever accurate. I trusted their judgement, and it gave me confidence to move forward. Fast forward to the day of the shoot. We shot at Kalapaki Beach--a beautiful, iconic beach. It did not rain, but it was overcast a bit for a period of time. That didn't bother me because they took great photos. We're grateful for their patience with our two rambunctious boys (ages 3 & 5). They worked so well with them, and our boys felt really comfortable. At one point, Kayli asked our youngest to "run to Uncle Matt" and I thought that was sweet--felt like we were treated like family. On top of that, they made sure we got all the shots we wanted--I think we may have went over the 30 minute limit. But I could tell they enjoy taking photos to get the best shots. They are so great to work with. At the end of the shoot, Kayli had a special surprise for our boys. She had them pick three things from a Magic Box full of small trinkets and toys. What a sweet and thoughtful gesture! Our boys loved it. Overall, our experience was lovely. From their first response to post photoshoot. Kayli and Matt are responsive, kind, patient and passionate about photography. They are truly professionals. I would absolutely recommend them. When we go back to visit with more of our family, I mentioned to both Kayli and Matt that we'd love to bothem again.

We just received our photo CD a little less than 4 weeks after our ceremony and they are just gorgeous! Kent was very hands on from the start, when I contacted him about the vow renewal while in Kauai (to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary). Our set-up was really simple - just the two of us, a minister, lei's, bouquet and the photography (I think it was the barefoot package + additional with the bouquet). We had a few check-in calls and e-mails to finalize details and then we talked the morning of the ceremony. Kent was really great to work with, easy going and attentive. Our minister (Hawaiian Spiritual) was equally great and made the ceremony extra special. Overall, things could not have gone any better - it was a day that we'll never forget. I still can't get over how amazing the photos were. Our ceremony was at Shipwrecks beach :) I think overall as long as you give all the details to Kent and tell him what you're looking for everything will be great! I was hesitant to trust a man with my ceremony (you just always feel that a woman will be more in touch with these things) but not wanting to be sexist, I was happy to give him a shot. Throughout the summer, we had significant difficulty receiving responses from Kent, repeatedly having to follow up via phone on emails that we had placed. He was always cordial, but never apologetic. He repeatedly forgot details of the ceremony, so much that I ensured that I kept my own file on all communications to ensure that I had proof of the messages. Again...no apologies. Friendly and very true to his Hawaiian culture, but the antithesis of professionalism. Concerned about the actual conduct, we agreed to meet with him to review logistics once we were on the island. However, we never got that far. With just 12 days to the ceremony, he had the audacity to email us and 'suggest' that we change the location of the ceremony because 'he didn't realize that we were staying at the resort that we were staying and felt that it was not convenient.' Needless to say, with no confidence of his abilities to execute our wedding the way that we wanted, we let him go with only a week to replace him. You can only IMAGINE the anxiety! Shentel at Hanalei Colony Resort stepped in and, in just two days, replaced all vendors and conducted the PERFECT ceremony for my fiance' and me. She was FLAWLESS! Not once throughout this entire experience did he apologize for his ineptitude. This man relies on the reputation of a coordination business that he has only recently assumed responsibility for. He is a photographer by trade and I would highly recommend that he relinquish his coordination hat and stick to photography.

We did our babymoon in Kauai at the end of February and I was looking for a photographer to do a babymoon photoshoot. I searched online using Google and Instagram and found many options, most of which were way over the price point we were hoping. I am so thankful I stumbled across Kauai Photo and Video's instagram page! I loved their photos and how they were more natural light photographers vs. being overly edited/filtered. They are very reasonably priced and don't try to add on extra charges for travel etc. like many of the others do - it did help that they are located in the South Shore and we were staying in Poipu. The best part was how comfortable Jordan and Emma helped made us feel during the photoshoot! They were very friendly, sweet, communicative with suggestions on how we should pose, and accommodating when we asked for a few additional shots of certain poses we had in mind. The finished photos blew me away and I am absolutely obsessed! My husband and I both agreed that the photoshoot was one of our favorite experience and memories from the trip overall! If you're visiting Kauai for a babymoon, you should definitely do a photoshoot and book Kauai Photo and Video!
