When I tell one of your employees that someone has left a baby in a carseat in front of your business I expect him to care. He literally did not say a word and walked away.. there are three people in here buying guns I would assume the car belongs to one of them. The fact that no one asks or says anything when it is brought to their attention is beyond me. If leaving your baby and running in a market real quick for a gallon of milk is wrong and illegal I can't imagine how going through the process of buying a firearm is ok.... maybe because it's in front of a firearm store?? I like Keith's, I've purchased a lot of firearms from them, however I think in the age of Covid and everyone buying up guns and ammo, there seems to be a Covid-Service mentality, aka lack of "Customer Service". For the last 3 years I've bought all my guns over the internet. I quit going to the gun shows because it turned into a joke. The fee for parking plus the entry fee is ridicules. Most gun sellers want more than I can find it for on the net. The internet has taken over. Even ammo is cheaper on the net...with shipping included. Gun shops are all but gone in Vancouver. Hello online gun stores. Oh, and one more benefit...no dick heads to deal with. Here's a list of all the guns I bought from Kieths at the gun shows. 1. Glock 21 2. Ak-47 3. Mini 30 4. Another Ak-47 5. Glock 30 All were priced well. Here's what I've bought on internet. 1. S&W 686 plus 2. Ruger single 10 .22 3. I misheard the employee say 'take your card out' and when i did, the manager made a literal scene about it. Recharged me, and threw my receipt at me, likely because i apologized for mishearing. One of their cust. ser. reps did something to the bolt on a hunting rifle I brought in to sell. Keith was at a gun show out of town and the rep told me his (Keith's son) would be back in the store shortly to appraise the rifle and he took it behind the counter. After about 20 minutes Keith's son came in and looked at the rifle and commenced to tell me what a horrible piece of crap it was. It had never been fired before and was safely store in a padded case for years. Perfect like new condition. Like anyone would, I inspected it well right before I brought it in and it was in perfect working condition. I had cycled the bolt at home and it worked perfectly.There was nothing wrong with the bolt whatsoever. Keith's son then took the bolt out and showed it to me and said "the bolt has been blown" Never heard that expression before. He told me he would fix the bolt for 50 dollars and that he would give me 50 for the rifle. Basically wanted me to just give it to him. I told him that I inspected the rifle and cycled the bolt action right before I came over and it was fine so the rep who was messing with it for the last twenty minutes had to have caused whatever happend to the bolt. He denied it and told me there was a special tool needed to fix the bolt. Of course I refused and left. When I got home I researched online and found out how to fix the bolt issue with a pair of channel locks. It was quite easy to do with no special tool needed. As so many others have said, it was the worst experience I have ever had, not only at a gun store, but at any store. These people should be shut down. 6-27-22 Went into look at Hand Guns and it has been many years since I had one so was looking to get information and maybe a bit of advice however they seamed to not care , and did not ask any questions other than what type of gun I wanted!!! Again I am a new gun customer and just felt they did not care to sell a gun to me!!! When looking for a Gun I would feel they would give you more information on the type of gun you are looking for like , what are you looking to use the gun for !!!! The person that was helping or lack of help did not seam to care if I new what wanted !!! Seams they only are interested in selling guns to those who already have guns or local Police!!!! Would not recommend Keiths Guns ti those who are looking to purchase there first gun!!! The proxies on the guns here were around $300.00 more for the same gun at the gun store in Sandy so one more reason not to purchase here!! I bought my first gun through them couple years ago and didn't do a review. I bought my third one today from them after dealing with a big box store. The big box store sucked- I won't mention any names as not to rip on cabela's any more then needed. Keith's is always busy but they will take the time needed with each person- neat to hear customers carry on conversation with the store personal as friends and long time customers as in life long customers and friends. I appreciate Kieth sporting goods store more now then as a newbie. This is a good place for someone who isn't a newbie but as a minimum for a customer who has already knows what they want their base customers are that who already knows that, Im happy I gave them a second chance-I'll be back. Prices are reasonable and better then other places and stock is GREAT. 4stars because 3seemed low but not 5 star efficiency is a strength read more

Been here about a dozen times over the last 15 or so years. Each time I go in there I feel like they didn't care about customers. I can recall one time I went in there and someone had some enthusiasm. Most of the time, I felt like I was a burden to them. For example, one time: Waiting there patiently and they help 2 other people before until I said something. I get no response or anything, even one of the customers who got there after I did mentioned that I was there first. *I don't give negative reviews unless I've been there a few times and each time it was a negative experience. Sometimes I have given a one star review if it was terrible first time experience. In this case, I have given them about a dozen chances. read more

This was actually comical. I stopped by to purchase a Blue Label Glock 17. They had one at the exact price as stated. The final cashier was polite and professional. That's why they get at least two stars. I first spoke to a gentlemen there (possibly Keith) about the gun I was looking to purchase. I didn't need to handle it, I had no questions about it, nor did I need to be sold on it. I just asked for the Blue Label Glock 17 and said if they have one I'll buy it now. He said he'd go check their stock. Apparently he left the store, took his vehicle to a auto body shop, and then returned. He never told me he was doing any of this and apparently me waiting about 20 minutes was my fault. I had told the one employee that asked if I needed help that the other gentleman was looking in the stock room for me. One employee would take pistols from the case, rack the slide, insert a pen down the barrel, and pull the trigger to launch the pen around the store. This same employee was handling a pistol that had apparently been sold to them without a firing pin. Of course he thought it was a good idea to put the pistol to his head and pull the trigger. It took me an hour to make my purchase. I think this could have been completed in 10 minutes. They have a huge stock of pistols but the employees were ridiculous. read more

Took "Keith's" advice given by a sales person to GO TO LOCAL COMPETITOR NORTHWEST ARMORY because he would not match a $10 price difference on a firearm and vastly undervalued a trade. I ended up walking out of Northwest Armory not only with the same firearm for slightly less but purchased another one and a couple hundred dollars worth of ammo and a holster, and given double the trade-in value on my firearm! This isn't the first time. They are overpriced and you are better taking your business elsewhere to begin whether it's firearms or ammo. I really didn't take a close look at accessory prices. They rarely answer their phones so you have to drive to the store to find out if they have what you want. Poor business practices turn people away. I strongly suggest if you want to purchase a firearm or ammo at a local brick and mortar store locally start with Northwest Armory or Cabela's even if it's a little extra drive. read more

Seems like unless your a friend or a law enforcement you get treated as second best and that's putting it mildly. The simplest question results in either an eye roll, short one word answers or straight being ignored. I actually watched the old lady behind the counter do it today to an African American man until she found out he came in because his paperwork was ready and still didn't want to give him the time of day. As for the guy behind the counter that's never missed a ham sandwich, He was about as courteous as Lurch off of the Adams Family. Remember these are local folks spending local money in your shops putting food on the table and yes I still dropped almost $200 in there today and have bought multiple pistols there. Pros There's a large selection of new/used guns. Cons Some of staff is a little rude, I heard a staff person say something disrespectful to a customer. I can't remember what it was but you should always be respectful to every customer. Prices are cheaper on the internet and some other gun shops have better prices. I think it's funny how they have a 25 or 50 bucks off on some guns on the used gun rack - but with the discount it's just what you would think to pay anyway.. unless you don't know how much used guns go for - in that case you're the perfect customer for them. Just feels deceptive to me. That being said I did buy a new gun from them lol I overpaid but am happy with the purchase. I get the feeling that they feel like they do enough business therefore they can have a DMV level of customer service Last time I went in every employee was doing something I.e talking to a customer putting something away etc. it was about 15 minutes before anyone even said "we will have someone help you in just a minute." I get people are busy and I don't mind the time I took look around the shop. But 15 minutes without even a "hello welcome" is pretty bad. Why should I overpay for a gun at a place that's too busy to say hello to me. Some tips for keith- Greet every customer to walk into your establishment. If it's busy tell the patron someone will be right with you Get a ticket dispenser so customers can be helped in order. It's a free for all system right now and frustrating when someone gets help before you when you arrived 1st Treat the customer like they're the ones who keep your roof and walls up. read more

It's too bad they're so far away, but It's so worth it. So I'm looking at some of these cry baby reviews and I can't help but shake my head in disbelief. I've purchased several firearms from Keith and he's never steered me wrong. He's also got one of the best displays at the gun show and he's busy for reason. I don't know him personally and have met him on occasion when I have needed to make a firearm purchase. I did make a mistake years ago of buying a Beretta handgun that never shot right. I bought the gun from Keith's. I told Keith about it and he was more than willing to hook me up with a new Glock 23 in a .40 that had probably less than 100 rounds pumped through it and it was in beautiful condition. He charged me a couple of hundred bucks for the trade and I was happier than a clam. The Beretta I traded was over ten-years old. The guy who wrote about going to a large out of state chain to save a few bucks is a fool. Cabelas and Dick's wouldn't have done for me what Keith did. If I need expert advice I've always gotten it from Keith and he's never tried to push a gun on me that he was trying to get rid of. These guys run an honest shop, have a great selection and I wanted to let them know how much it's appreciated. We need more small businesses with the integrity of these guys. If you are looking for expert advice and a great selection go see them. If you get your feelings hurt too easily because they don't say hi to you the minute you walk in the door go somewhere else. I'm extremely disappointed. I've purchased from them several times over the last many years and have sent many friends there because they have fair prices and a decent selection. I've had some less than stellar customer service from a few of the employees but never have taken it personally. Unfortunately, I took a friend there last week to purchase a firearm. He got plenty of advice from Keith and another staff member, found one he liked and purchased it as well as some accessories. Upon taking the rifle home and breaking it down for cleaning and lubrication, a damaged internal pin was discovered. This is a new product, never shot, owned for 24 hours. He called the store the next business day and was told to bring it in, they would "See what they could do." An employee named Eric looked at the rifle, told him there was nothing he could do and my friend should purchase a $25 replacement for the pin (that we found for $5 online). Keith was there while they were discussing the damaged product so the owner could not have been unaware. I suggested he return the rifle immediately and if he really wanted that particular one, ask to purchase a different one and take it apart before actually paying to make sure it was in good condition but my friend chose to contact Curtis Discount Shooters Supply who apparently assembled and provided this firearm to Keith's originally. Curtis apologized several times for his treatment at Keith's, let him know that most of the staff at Keith's gets their parts from Curtis and told him to bring the rifle to them so they could make it right. 5 minutes in their shop and he had a new pin, installed and was on his way. Keith, you've lost my business, his, my neighbors and co-workers, pretty much everybody I know who is into shooting sports over a $5 part on a brand new rifle, less than 3 days after you sold it. read more

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME! Learn from my mistake. My initial impression of the store was that they're one of the best in the area. I'm very new to the world of firearms having just bought my first from this store in October. They were one of the few places I found with an actual inventory, and even had ammo. Pricing was not great. I paid $600 for a lightly used HK VP9. Staff seemed knowledgable and friendly. They've got a tight distancing policy in place (though not as strict as NW Armory in Milwaukie), which makes getting to know the store difficult. They have 2 lines outside, one for shopping, and one for approved BG checks picking up. I went back a couple times to shop for accessories, and even took a friend who also purchased an FN507. But each time I noticed that customer service really isn't a priority at this store. I witnessed other staff speaking very condescendingly, and was on the receiving end of it, too. It was also frustrating to have my questions answered with ridiculous deflecting answers rather than "I don't know, let me find out". Most frustrating of all is their policy of not answering the telephone. On my last visit I purchased a red dot and a box of ammo. At checkout I was overcharged by $30 but didn't catch it until 5 minutes later when I was in the car a few blocks away. I went back and had to wait in line for an hour to get my cash difference. While waiting, I dialed their number 50 times to see if they'd service me because of their mistake, but they never picked up once. That entire hour I watched customer after customer walking out with purchases. It appears that they have more business than they can handle, so they don't really need mine anymore. By the time I reached the counter I was so annoyed, I simply told them I wanted to return the sight and get all my money back instead of just the $30. When I asked why they don't answer their phone I received the snide reply "what, are we supposed to ignore the customers in the store to have a half hour conversation with every yahoo who calls?" Apparently this organization doesn't realize that a dedicated receptionist with phone and customer skills could not only answer questions, and get people to come in, but make sales, take phone orders, and screen out the 'yahoos' while converting real customers in to long-term customers instead of ignoring them and creating ex-customers like me, all while keeping the floor staff focused on customers in the showroom. But, as I said, they appear to be doing very well so they don't need my business, and probably not yours, either. Keep shopping. read more

Keith, I have purchased many weapons from your shop. Today I was in and was helping a new a new gun enthusiast and was telling your employee what I was looking and it would be for my friend. Then all hell broke loose. He said who is the gun for and I said not for me but for my friend and he said that I asked for it to buy and i said it was for my friend this went back and forth a couple of times trying to explain that I was helping him with his purchases. Very rude said that I was trying a straw man purchase, bottom line is we went to advanced and my friend spent $2700. 00 on three purchases. Again very rude and I always try to recommend your place to my friends. It's a shame, but know your busy because of the times we live in and don't care about my issues. Found these folks at the gun show today and I was shocked when I found the exact gun I wanted and for half the price of all the other venders. Mind you it was a used firearm but they did have a $25 off sticker on the rack it was in!!! The best part of the buying experience wasn't just the price it was also the patience of the woman that helped me. I had two of my boys (6 and 9) and my daughter (6 months) with me. She didn't skip a beat while they fired off 1,000 questions a second and only have complements about my baby girl even when she was fussing. She even went above and beyond by talking about her personal firearm that she conceal carrys to my girlfriend buy showing pictures and comparing hand sizes for fitment reference. I look forward to spending more time and money with a smaller local business like Keith's. Thank you guys. read more

While I always shop around, hit the gun shows, check with friends, et al, I seem to buy most of my guns from Keith's. In the past, some of the employees were less than stellar. Between the over-the-top personal opinions (there is no such thing as "the best [fill-in-the-blank] ever!) or the complete lack of knowledge (yes, higher end shotgun stocks are bent), it could be down right comical. Keith has seemed to fix that over the years, and in my last visit all the employees were great. Keith runs a business. He's there to sell a product for a profit. I've never, ever felt I was taken advantage of, but part of any negotiated transaction is listening to him hem-and-haw. Eventually you'll get to an equitable transaction, but the price dance is to be expected. My last transaction with Keith was great. I walked out feeling like I'd gotten a deal and Keith had a few trinkets he could make a few shekels on. In the metro area, you'll be hard pressed to find a better shop. Unless you want to head to the Gun Room for a peak at what inbreeding produces....! read more

Stopped in here while passing through and in hindsight should have read the reviews and not wasted my time. Yes, it is a small store and yes it is packed to the gills with "stuff". But that stuff is mostly cheap knives from China, dusty, yellowed packages of products which should be thrown away, and very run of the mill type of guns which could be purchased at any sporting goods store, usually for less. Now, as for the employees. Not the brightest folks. Mostly younger guys with a chip on their shoulder. Almost poking fun at customers for their enjoyment. Many other places to go that is more appealing esthetically, better products, and a little classier people to deal with. read more

My go-to gun shop in the Portland area. Pretty much every other gun shop in the metro area is cliquish and opinionated to the point of destroying their customer service. Every time I've been into Keith's, I've been able to get done what I needed to get done. The only warning I feel compelled to give about Keith's is that, if you go during a gun show, they'll be on a skeleton crew in the store location. Frankly, I'd suggest avoiding weekends entirely -- its just too busy. I'm a weird mix of gun nerd and gun newbie. When I have questions, they are answered. On the other side, when I've done my research, there are gun nerds in there who appreciate that depth of question, as well. read more

NOT ONCE HAVE THEY ANSWERED THEIR PHONES, but they apparently don't go through packages that are delivered to the store! My husband was told to ship his guns to that store and we'd be able to pick them up once they got there! He is in the military and in the middle of PCSing. So we have to spend more money to wait to get HIS OWN guns cus the store won't go through their shipments. AND we will be late to his PCS return date! This is ridiculous!!! At first I thought maybe I'd have luck with trading in a weapon to a qualify duty weapon. I emailed back and fourth and received decent communication. I arrived in the store and immediately was talked to condescending and the sales guy Nate half the time didn't know what he was saying. He said my XDE and a XDS Mod 2 would fit in the same holster. Then he continued to call it a XDM which is two different pistols. After all that he got the pistol I was interested in and a holster which he said was a level 3. But it definitely was not. It was a level 2 and he needed the other sales guy to explain what makes it a level 3. In the end he proceeded to incredibly low ball me with my trade. My pistol was a month old and it came with the Gear Up box which had the 5 magazines, 2 holsters all OEM and a range bag. They said they'd do no more than $200! I felt from the time I entered the store I was not a wanted customer. I took my business elsewhere and had a great experience at that place. read more
