Keland's in New Town cooks up delicious Cajun food to go. The service is friendly, knowledgeable, and cheerful. The restaurant is more of a to-go place. It's great if you are craving some Cajun Creole cooking! We like their gumbo and their jambalaya. Very tasty!! Parking is free and plentiful in the New Town shopping area.

I was visiting from Southern California and find this Black owned business. We ordered the Tackle Box, Alligator Po Boy, and Seafood Combo. The food was flavorful, well seasoned, and portions were satisfying. The owner engaged us in some nice conversation. It's a small place, but outdoor seating is available if you have a midsized group...I would definitely recommend paying Kelands a visit for some good Louisiana food!

10/10 food Mac and cheese was DELICIOUS!! I got the gator poboy very good and filling. I've had gator a couple times and this one wasn't too chewy so I loved it service was amazing !! Keland's daughter was in the front taking orders and she's so sweet and answered all questions and gave recommendations too!

    Jambalaya !!!

Pretty good Cajun food for the area and I'm from Louisiana as we hadn't found anything good til now. Their Keland's sauce is less of a true Nola remoulade but more like cane's sauce which still goes good on a shrimp po'boy! Their catfish is pretty good as well as the whiting - can't go wrong with either! Their vegan gumbo and jambalaya is good as well - thanks for having a vegan option by the way, much appreciated! Looking forward to many more meals with them. Good service and answers any questions you may have about their menu items. *Forgot to add that they even threw in some hot sauce - score!

Had the boudin balls. They were very well seasoned. A southern flavor for sure. Not sure about the other dishes.

The beef empanada had a great fried exterior but the filling fell flat. The ham croqueta was actually amazing, and I wish I had more of it. The fried yuca was fine but nothing special. And the sauces that came with this appetizer were pretty good. I ordered the vaca frita, under the impression that it would be flavorful and have a caramelized crisp on the outside. It had no flavor. I didn't see a speck of seasoning. The beef was chewy and isn't have the crisp that it was supposed to have. I squeezed the lemon that came with it over the meat and it did nothing for it. The vegetales salteados (roasted veggies) and the plantains were both delicious. I ordered a Coke Zero and was given a bottle, which was fine but not expected. The bottle had an expiration date of a month ago. Didn't realize it until about halfway through. We sat next to the door and had to swat at a fly and gnat throughout the meal. Annoying but i don't know what they could've done about that.

My husband was pleased with the offerings of beer and enjoyed what he had. WE had Boat Cheese Curds with Marinara as an appetizer and they were quite good. We took desserts for later at the hotel: My husband's brownie was good and they packed the ice cream separately, so that made him happy. I had the peach cobbler, and while good -- I tend to like my peaches a bit more "peachy" ....they use lots and lots of cinnamon and allspice. The fruit was dark brown. We ordered a Diners burger, Virginia burger, and house wings. The Burgers were borderline inedible due to the huge amount of salt. If i had been dining in I would have sent it back. I would not feed that much salted meat to my dog. The burgers dampness also had literally demolished the lower bun and iceberg lettuce. So i had to disgard those sodding blobs. The Virginian burger also salty, and the crab cake, small and underwhelming. The Chicken wings tasteless and dry. On too of this i had no choice but to pay a 10% tip for "take out prepare ". If i can give zero i would. Id say "fire the chef"

The brewery is large, clean, colorful, spacious and inviting. It's uniquely decorated. Think taxidermy animals on the wall but half car couches. My family really enjoyed out trip to SB. First off, it was a quiet day. The bartender, a young guy, was super helpful. Flights of 10? Made my husband happy. I can't lie, there were 2 beers I wanted to taste. I like sours. The more they are reds and green, I usually like them. I can share the lucky charms one was not for me. The Welch's jelly sour was a win with me! Lots of merch to choose from. There were a lot of drink options, but not many snacks, so if you come here, eat before or have a plan to grab food after. I got the Sapphire Robot, which was sweet without being overwhelming. As someone who doesn't like beer that much, this was perfect. The decor was strange, which works for the name, but it put off my friends. If a ton of taxidermy bothers you, maybe skip it.

There's a small selection of can drinks including alcoholic ones, tea, soda, water. I liked that they stock Sly Clyde's cider from Hampton. Not sure sharp objects and alcohol is the best idea but everyone seemed to be behaving responsibly. We were escorted to some bays that had two lanes next to each other and then separated by a fence before two more open lanes. We were given a safety brief at the lanes with people in two other lanes and some instructions on how to throw. Don't pass axes by hand, put them in the return box. Different styles of how to throw. Thankfully we had the full bay to ourselves since so one was in the open bay next to us. We played for 75 min which was a comfortable amount of time. They also have a knife throwing option which we didn't select. There's some seating available near the throwing area for non players. Each bay has a standing bar with two backless metal seats. I was able to throw comfortably with a walking boot on for a sprained ankle. I appreciated that since I didn't even think of that before reserving a space. I was nervous at first but managed to do ok with the over head two hand throw. The bay attendant didn't check on us after bringing our pretzel bites and so it didn't seem necessary to tip for service. We were able to get an additional score cards on the way to the snack area and that is where you close out your tab for your outing. The kiosk offers a tip option so maybe they share with the attendants. I talked with a friend who had been there previously and she said the booth attendant asked for a tip when she went and that was off putting. That wasn't our experience though. Overall we spent just over $100 for our date night. While there is snacky food available, it's not the type of place you are going for dinner and fun. Get a meal before or after somewhere else.
