Get there early! Thankfully we didn't have to wait the estimated hour for 2 people, but that place is packed on a Friday night!! The addition in the back is really nice, but the seating is TIGHT. Our chairs were back to back with other people around us. It made it hard for people to get in and out and the staff had to find other ways around all of us to bring out food, drinks, and just to take our orders. That part really sucked. I hated that the person who was behind me kept bouncing around in his chair, which kept hitting mine, and getting up and down over and over. They have space to give people more space in between their tables. We just ordered apps and drinks. Their pain killer was pretty weak, but the Long Island was delicious.

We met friends out here because we needed a dog-friendly place 5/14. The food was great!! We started with drinks. I got the zombie. (If you like cinnamon, you'll like it.) My friend got a tanquery and soda with specific instructions that were done perfectly. The guys got beer in tap. We ordered the calamari which is like baby bang style. Cooked perfectly!! (NOT rubbery). My hubby and I split the seafood dinner. It was fantastic. Sara was our waitress and was the BEST!!! Another great YROC dinner with friends.

This place was suggested to us so we made the drive from Williamsburg. Well worth the drive!!! There was a wait as soon as we got here, so that's always a good sign. We had a party of 5 on a Friday and waited 30 minutes or so to be seated. I got the Seafood Trifecta and substituted the veggies for collard greens. Definitely a great choice! The food came out in a timely manner was served hot and fresh! Very delicious!!! The ambiance is very casual. I'd definitely come back!!

Went out last night to do a girl night out to close out the summer official with this hidden gem it's off the coast where you have two story outdoor patio to lounge and gets some good bites with a view of the pier with all the boats. Parking was kind of confusing at first there was reserved parking for people are sailing and park but towards the actual restaurant there was parking lot but it seem like there a lot more people than spaces to get in. Wait time is definitely longer than what I would be willing to wait for but since we travel so far and want to try there food it was worth the wait we waited about 40 minutes due to them having a a long waitlist and being super busy they do the text system to let you know when your table is ready but once they send the message be aware that you only have 5 minutes to get to the server that will be my only thing the wait time to get to the server should be longer. We Dine indoor was nice and comfortable with booth and chair option with a nice view to enjoy our drinks and food and just be able to enjoy the night without having to worry about noise control. They did have a live band as we are leaving perfect for entertainment for live music lovers. There food was very good I got both there oysters bienville nice warm and buttery with the right amount of acid from the vegetables they mixed in and ahi tuna tower is my favorite presentation and flavor profile was absolutely fresh with some kick to it but a good amount and the wonton chips are perfect combo to add on with richness .

Tonight we had dinner at YROC (York River Oyster Company) located at 8109 Yacht Haven Road in Gloucester Point. This is a beautiful location for a seafood restaurant, it's right on the York River and the view is stunning. We arrived about 5:30 without a reservation but we were lucky enough to score a couple of seats at the downstairs bar. There is also an upstairs bar but it was packed to the gills with people. The bartenders, Candace, Chris and Nicole were fantastic. They were super busy, but they still managed to keep our drinks filled, offer us recommendations for food and chat with us about many different things. We tried several items on the menu starting with the Bangin' Shrimp for $14. This is a Crispy Fried Shrimp coated with Bang Bang Sauce. It was cooked perfectly and delicious. We also tried the Ceviche with Mahi Mahi, Pineapple, cucumber, and onions. We really enjoyed it. For dinner my wife had the Ahi Tuna Tower for $18. Everything was fresh and delicious. I had the Crab Cake Sandwich served with shoestring fries. This was a fantastic rendition of the classic sandwich. It's was served piping hot and it was really good. We had a great time at this wonderful restaurant. For us, it's well worth the drive from Chesapeake to get here. If you love great seafood check out YROC, you'll be glad you did and you can rest assured that you are supporting our local restaurant community!

I think I will always recommend this place to anyone that's in the Hampton roads area. The overall ambiance of the restaurant is great. It's on the water with indoor or outdoor seating. They have a great selection of drinks and have also updated their menu. The price surprisingly hasn't changed much, for a party of three including my little one I paid 101$ that's with having alcoholic beverages with our lunch and getting dessert. The service and the display of food when it's served to you is always impressive.

We had planned a trip to the YROC to celebrate my mom's 82 birthday. We knew it would be busy on a Saturday night but as it's winter not summer, I don't think we grasped HOW busy it would be. It was too chilly for the older ladies so we wanted to eat inside. We waited about 40 min for a table and we all got comfy for what ended up a loooong night. I wish I caught the name of our server but it was very loud, louder than usual. She was very sweet and friendly, but kept forgetting us. We put our full order in at once thinking to save time. Not really. It took us about 40 min to get our drinks...and the order was wrong. Our starters came shortly after and we had barely finished when our mains came out. Now, I can fully appreciate it was a busy kitchen, but there were some boo boos. To start, I ordered a Southern Revival. It comes in a whiskey glass. The thing is, I saw several of these being served and they were all full serves where mine was about halfway. If I'm paying $12 for a drink..give a full pour right? The wings that my brother in law ordered were the wrong ones. He asked for the mild buffalo and got super hot. Poor guy has Parkinson's so it was a rough go for him. We were all so hungry though that we just kept our food/drink. I ordered the YROC salad and wow. What a fantastic salad. Spinach, walnuts, apples, cranberry, and red onion with a raspberry vinaigrette. YUM! My sister got the cheese curds and from the way she devoured them I'm thinking they were pretty tasty. We all ordered a range of dishes as mains. I got the Mahi tacos (since the Huli chicken wasn't on the menu), mom got the captains special, her friend got the Trifecta, sis got the bang bang shrimp tacos and b-i-l got a burger. With the exception of the burger it was an amazing meal. We were so very full by the time we left we could barely walk to the car. We took a few moments to admire the view before heading home. This is a very casual, come as you are place for a good meal. Not sure about conversation if you eat inside, bring a sweater for eating out. If you don't like crowds but dig the vibe try lunch. Parking can be a challenge especially when they are really busy. There is a run off lot but it's a bit of a hike. Still...so worth spending a Saturday night with good food and great ambiance. Just wish we had a more attentive server.

I've heard great things about YROC. It's date night and we arrived around 6. This placed was packed... But was alright with waiting and there were 12 parties ahead of us. It took them only 15 minutes to get us a table. It was busy and it was loud inside, which I didn't mind. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. Our waitress was sweet and attentive and busy! She seemed to handle the chaos really well. I should mention that it was homecoming. I ordered the fried pickles, Maryland crab dip, fried seafood combo with the poblano cheddar hush puppies and garlic cilantro fries, fried oysters and crab cake, and my in husband got the ribeye. I was not disappointed. My player came with a garlic aioli that I am now obsessed with. OBSESSED. I put it on everything! It's so good. We had a nice window seat. It was nice to look outside. I recommend visiting!

Busy night so we sat at the bar and had some Orange Crushes waiting for our table. Bar tender was super nice. Waited about 30 minutes and got our table. Food was very good. We had Wedge salad, Chesapeake Bay salad and Tuna sandwich. All very good! It was night and chilly so we sat inside. Great location on the water and the outside seating and view will be great when it's warmer.

We were visiting from out of town and this spot was recommended by our friends who are locals. The restaurant has a casual, yet beautiful and relaxed ambiance while overlooking a large boat marina. Our group of 6 was able to snag a table right along the edge of the patio overlooking the water. We order an array of items from the sushi tower, seafood boil, ceviche, and shrimp po boy to chicken tacos and the pizookie for dessert! Everything was amazing and cooked very well. I would definitely make sure to visit again when back in the area.

Great Food, Fair Prices, and a Beautiful Waterfront View Had a great lunch at YROC Coastal Bar and Grill! I sat by the window overlooking the water--such a beautiful and peaceful view, it really made the whole experience. The food wasflavorful, with a good variety of options. Portions were generous, and the prices were very reasonable for the quality and location. It's the kind of place where you can enjoy a relaxed meal without feeling rushed. Definitely a great spot for a casual lunch or weekend outing. I'll be back--especially for that waterfront view!

Ask the Community - YROC Coastal Bar & Grill

    What are their drink specials?

They have happy hour specials Monday-Friday from 11am-6pm: $5 Spicy Mango Margaritas & Wet Woodies…

Do I need to make a reservation for two on a Saturday night?

They do not take reservations I would suggest you go as early as possible and enjoy a beverage upstairs and the view while you wait.

Again, the restaurant's been around for years, but it's definitely well kept. Just like other BBQ spots, you have to order up front. On the right, the menu's on the board to choose from. It took us minutes to select our respective meals, but at the end of the day, we were ready. For my order, I selected a dinner size plate of beef brisket with a side of fried pickles. All was quite delicious. The brisket was cooked perfectly and went well with both BBQ sauces from Scoot's. And I liked their fried pickles were actually small spears. Fried and not too much sodium. Sophia ordered a brisket sandwich with fried pickles and enjoyed her selection. A very good first time for the both of us. This won't be the last time we'll be here. Till next time :)

Situated right under the York River bridge, not far from the Yorktown museum, is the cutest village. I'm sorry, they can't claim it as part of the original Yorktown but it is cute. There is a lovely river walk...hence the name of the restaurant. They have some of the BEST views in the area being right there. We had reservations however it being the busiest day for restaurants, we had to chill our heels for a few moments before being taken back. I was more than ok with this as we ended up getting a window seat (see above for reference). Thank heavens they put the name of the server in the receipt cuz y'all know my Swiss cheese brain. Cara was the wonderful server who took care of us. She was always there ready for me to get my mum good & spoiled. Super friendly and very helpful. The buffet, it was impressive for a buffet and while not a big buffet, it was specialized. First up were 3 different kinds of salads, then a fruit platter, and bagels & cream cheese. They had a raw bar with shrimp & oysters next, then breakfast stuff (eggs, potatoes bacon etc) mac & cheese, garlic mashed taters & then a carving station with turkey, ham & lamb. Finally a small but respectful dessert table. If you couldn't find something to fill you, you weren't looking. The single sour note of the buffet was the salmon and Mac & cheese. I'll know better next time. Overall the River Walk has come back with perfect timing and style. I highly recommend a visit. Parking is a pain but patience will help

When I found out they were having a set menu for Vday I called the week of and we were able to switch our reservations to Friday February 13th. I downloaded the InKiND app as well and they gave me a $50 off discount if you spend minimum $150. The open table app did have a $20 per person fee for reservations and that will be applied to the final bill. Our reservations were at 4pm and we arrived early and the parking area is ample with a parking garage and some street parking. We started walking to the restaurant at about 355pm. This time of the year seems to slower with ot being cold. Once inside we were greeted by the young ladies up front. We were offered a table or booth and we chose a table. We did sit at a table with the view of the water which was nice. Jason our server came over within seconds to pour us water and take our drink orders. We both wanted sweet tea with lemon. Since we knew ahead of time what we were ordering, we gave our appetizers orderes first. We ordered the soup of the day which was the she crab soup. It is highly recommended. We only ordered a cup and not a bowl because we were unsure of how it tasted. The Caesar salad had no anchovie flavor like we are use to and was just medicore. We ordered the meatballs which had lamb and pork in it. They were juicy, tender and just needed a little more seasoning. The Calamari was fried to perfection for me and could've used a pinch of salt. The sweet tea was everything and I would recommend it. For the main entrees, we chose the shrimp and scallop risotto and the beef braised Ragau. There were two scallops and four grilled shrimp and few asparagus with some chopped up bacon. This dish I highly recommend as well. The beef was tender, seasoned and pasta was cooked perfect. Overall, this is a nice and quiet place to dine at anytime. I would recommend and will definitely return again. Jason was on point with his promptness.
