Mike was able to identify a very clever solution to line our piping. They contracted a company for the lining, but did everything else themselves. We had to dig up both of our bathrooms to replace all of the piping. They worked quickly and always cleaned up after themselves. Extremely considerate of the position we are in with two young kids. Mike was sure to double check that everything was functioning and there were a couple hiccups after completion that they were over here same day to fix everything! Even on the weekends! Kellems Plumbing was initially responsive and knowledgeable. I called on a Friday talking through the issue with Mike. He was willing to send someone out same day which was awesome. I had to work with my tenant's schedule and asked if we could plan for a day the following week. Mike asked for pictures of the shower hardware. I told him I'd ask the tenant to send however he was at work. I sent the pics to Mike when the tenant shared them with me on Sunday. I didn't expect a response as it was the weekend. I followed up on Monday sending the pics and description of the issue again. Mike let me know he was out of pocket that day in a class but would follow up with a quote and availability to come out. I followed back up throughout the week and received no responses. I reached out to another plumber this past Friday after no response from Mike. The plumber came out and fixed the issue on Monday. As a courtesy I let Mike know I'd hired another plumber. I did think that they were knowledgeable and initially communicative and willing to dispatch someone quickly. On February 15th 2023 after receiving services, their van knocked down a basketball hoop that was set up in the street and it knocked into my housemate's vehicle. It completely damaged the back windshield and deeply gouged the hatch of the vehicle. Not only did they not acknowledge this at first and take accountability for it but we needed to have confirmation from our neighbors across the street that they were responsible for it. The neighbors across the street showed us the aftermath of what happened (pictures and video) and at first they had left the basketball hoop leaned up against the car and then eventually they moved the basketball hoop away from the vehicle. They did not leave any notes on the vehicle and they did not inform us or ask us if it was our vehicle after they committed the damage. My housemate had to drive their damaged vehicle for several days with the back windshield taped up and plastic over it and it had rained as well on one of those days before it was able to be repaired. It took over 3 weeks for the vehicle to get repaired in the auto body shop and not only that but it cost over $1,100 for the rental car in the meantime aside from the $500 deductible to get the repairs done. My housemate and the owner of the house that needed the repair have contacted them multiple times to let them know that they need to pay the cost of damaging the vehicle because they are accountable for it and they have not gotten back to us. The interest is building up on the credit card for the payment for the rental car and they have not done anything about it. It is absolutely unprofessional that it has been 11 months and they have not compensated the driver of the vehicle that they damaged based on their negligent driving. I am writing this review because I am the one that let my housemate use the credit card information so that they could get a rental car so not only does this affect the homeowner but it affects me and the housemate so not only does it affect three people but they're not doing anything about it and the interest charges are around $30 per month and that is affecting my credit score . They need to do something about it. This is very unprofessional and they need to be held accountable and pay the fees and damages for the deductible, vehicle rental and interest charges on the vehicle they damaged. read more

Had a shower that had a slow drip when shut off and YouTube made changing out the cartridge look easy. So I gave it a shot. Fast forward to the cartridge being so corroded and locked in place that it broke in half when I tried to remove it. After telling my wife that the water would be off for much longer than anticipated, I began dialing for plumbers. I called the guy I used before, but he couldn't make it today and going without water over night just wasn't an option for a happy marriage, so called a couple of the "big guys" and they wouldn't even give an idea of pricing over the phone without sending a tech out with a $99 service fee. I called Kellems and Mike was able to give me a reasonable quote right then and said Bill would be out this afternoon. Our garbage disposal went on the fritz yesterday. Got some quotes from different plumbers this morning. Mike at Kellems was quick to reply back and his quote (parts and labor) was the best price. After a couple of other questions (ie. availability/warranty) I sent a message back saying, "Let's do this." Mike & Yosh arrived on time and went straight to work. They both were extremely pleasant, friendly and professional. They did the work in no time and did a wonderful job cleaning up the work area afterwards. After getting the receipt and saying goodbye, I, wanting to test the new garbage disposal out, turned on the hot water but found the sink backing up. I called Mike and without even a concern he and Yosh quickly came back, threw a snake down the line and got it all fixed up! This to me is why not only am I giving Kellems a 5 out of 5 but will highly recommend them to friends and family. It's apparent to that they care about the work they do and care about doing the job right. Mike let me know that since we recently had our old cast iron drain pipes replaced (by another company), showing me the pipes under the kitchen sink, that the clog was due to the back wash from the old pipes. My old shower knob was broken, the cartridge was eroded and I couldn't pull it out. I called Mike and he immediately sent Billy to my home. Billy is very knowledgeable and skillful. He replaced the cartridge in no time. He also volunteered to give advice for my broken sink lift rod drain. The price he charges is very reasonable and the work worth every penny. I am glad that I called him. I actually called ASI Hastings first and the person who answered my call is just an appointment maker with no knowledge of plumbing. We had a sewage line that was clogged and we needed it checked out ASAP since we were unable to use our shower or toilet. I was able to make an appointment with Mike for that day at a time that made it possible for both my husband and myself to be home.
