Phenomenal food. Some of the best food I've had in New Hampshire period. The autumn salad was a highlight, but my steak was also cooked perfectly, the mocktails were thoughtfully crafted and balanced, and the apps were delicious. Our server, Seth, was warm and friendly. The space is relatively small/cozy, well decorated, with an open kitchen. Zero complaints!

I really liked this place. We came on the spur of the moment. I suspect you normally need a reservation, but it was during the week in the dead of winter. It's located in a cute old train station. We were able to sit right away. Her waitress was delightful. The menu is interesting. In the way you can mix and match items. Half price for the appetizers during certain times of the week. The food was really excellent. My brother-in-law had scallops and a fillet and was delighted. We had interesting appetizers in excellent cocktails.

Hands down and by far the best food we've had in the area. We came here after our plan A spot was closed for the season (with no warning on yelp, Google, their website or social media) Seth, the host and waiter, found us a cozy table for two right away and had a great and welcoming energy to him. We started with a couple of cocktails (fall margarita and an old fashion). The cocktails are strong but tasty! For appetizers we got the mussels and butternut arancini. I don't eat mussels but I did try a piece of bread in the garlicy sauce that they came in and it makes sense why and how my boyfriend devoured them so quickly. The arancini is what really stole my heart. It was soooo perfectly crunchy on the outside but melty and soft on the inside. The flavor was out of this world. We shared the beet salad and I never want to eat beets any other way. The texture was phenomenal and the dressing was so well paired with the cheese and beets. For dinner I got the lamb ragu and my boyfriend got the pork chop. Again, I don't love pork chops, but this one had the most unbelievable flavor and was so perfectly cooked that I regretted not getting it myself until I tried the lamb with gnocchi. I have no idea how the chef came up with the flavors but they were so perfectly combined and it was such a large portion, but no piece was left behind. I wish we had room for dessert but we were stuffed from apps and dinner. I recommend this place for any local or just passerby. The waiter said they normally don't keep something on the menu for more than 5 or 6 weeks, so I'm excited to keep up with the reviews and see what the restaurant puts out next!

All around a great experience. We arrived early (at opening) and asked for a table. They cheerfully welcomed us in (even though, as we watched later, most were asked about reservations). Enjoyed the attentive service, haddock bites, Arctic Char, beignets, bread, and more. Being new to the area, our server explained the special night, the venue across the street, and the history of the restaurant. We were not rushed at all, although watched while others ate and left on their quick schedule. Definitely would return.

Was in the area n stopped by for dinner at Local Eatery . Nice charming restaurant on the side of the train station. The bread with mocha butter was so good. Have never had mocha butter before n this was different. So many interesting items on menu n tough choice picking a dish. We settled on the egg plant caponata, fried delicata n onion, pear n squash salad. EP caponata was so good n flavorful. The delicata was squash rings dipped in batter n fried w Pearl onions n a nice aioli sauce. Something different healthy ( yes fried) n delicious. The salad was good w greenery, Pears n squash. For entrees we had the haddock bites , filet w garlic butter mashed potato n roasted squash n winter squash risotto w pan seared char. Haddock bites were moist n crispy. Winter squash risotto was great w the arctic char. Was enough for 2. The filet moist n juicy n mashed potatoes v good, the roasted squash was tasty . And we topped it off w pumpkin puff tart. Heavenly n we 3 shared it. Yum yum. Thank u 4 a great dinner.

We had a nice experience, but this is probably not a restaurant I would return to. Our appetizers were pretty good, but our entrees were just fine for the price. My husband had pork chops while I had the scallops. My scallops were seared well and good quality, but the risotto tasted very bitter and was hard to eat. It seemed that no one else had tasted it. My husband's pork chop was pretty good, not great. The portions were quite small. Our waitress was really nice, but she was clearly still learning. Again, nothing was bad, but my expectations are justifiably high at this price point. Also, it was a really hot evening and the restaurant was quite warm. This probably isn't a problem when the weather is more typical.

I don't know if our server was new, or if they were understaffed. I also don't know if the cook was new. At the end, I will tell you why I won't eat there again. Let's start with after we were seated it took a good 5 minutes or more before our server showed up. We almost left, but we had gone to El Tequila first only to learn that they are out of business. Darn! (We loved El Tequila! Tell me if you know, if they left the area or what). I should have known not to eat my food when the server thought I had ordered coke though I ordered lemonade! I have never had anyone ever confuse those! I ordered a Mexican omelet and hash browns (because I was really in the mood for Mexican food)! The omelet was good, but there was no seasoning in the ground beef, certainly not taco meat by any stretch of the imagination! I used all my sour cream (which had a lot of water in the container--does sour cream spoil?). And I used all my salsa. It was the only way I could even get an inkling of Mexican flavor. The hash browns were dripping with oil, so I onky had a couple bites of them. Sad! I drank about half my lemonade and asked for a To Go cup, but that never showed up. I waited as long as I could because the cramping started and I told my daughter, "We gotta get home." (I had the runs!) So, no, we won't be going back to Union diner again. Later I remembered this happened to me once before after eating there, but I had blamed it on the eggs. I think now, it must be the oil they use or something.

Service was great, especially considering how busy it was. The ladies behind the bar kept things moving! We ordered drinks (excellent Manhattan, btw) and some food. While waiting for the food, we had a nice chat with two locals who have lived here all their lives and that contributed to the fun vibe of the place. You hear about taciturn folks in the Northeast but we had several people talk to us, but then again, maybe we stuck out and everyone could easily tell we weren't local. In any event, it was lovely. The food was good too. Shrimp cocktail was on point but the highlight were the chicken tenders. The portion was gigantic...we were expecting maybe four tenders and there were something like eight! They were fried perfectly too. Crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside....really well done. As we were leaving, there were people already waiting for tables so this must be a very popular place to eat and based on my experience (friendly environment, great service, terrific food) it's not hard to see why. Definitely check out The Breeze if you're in the area.

We will ask to sit farther away if that happens again. Or we just won't go on music nights. The singer guitarist was good, but every song was in the same key (all songs sounded alike). Some like that. We don't. Musical taste is subjective. We're musicians and know that. It's tough to please everyone. Our food and drinks were all delicious! While we did find service to be a little on the slower side, we allowed ourselves plenty of time and were not particularly bothered by that. Our server was friendly despite being clearly quite busy. We both had the chicken tender basket, and while it certainly wasn't anything fancy, they were probably the best chicken tenders I've ever eaten. The batter was crispy and not too thick, and the chicken itself was some of the best I've ever eaten in terms of preparation. The fries were delicious as well, and we did not find the restaurant to be dusty/dirty or the prices to be horrendous as indicated in multiple other reviews. My biggest complaint, honestly, is that the lighting is very dim and could be problematic for some people. Overall we were very impressed and would definitely return in the future if we were in town for a show!
