It's important for online consumers to understand how this dealership operates. I submitted a formal credit application through your website on Saturday at 6:51pm after regular business hours, and received immediate approvals from several banks. Your facility is closed on Sunday, therefore I called at 9am Monday morning when your facility opened, to immediately get the deal formally started. From 9am - 12:52pm I worked with John to finalize the terms of trade and new purchase, at which point I was notified that there was a buyer on site who drove 2 hours and was interested in the vehicle. I find it highly unlikely that the buyer on site had submitted a formal credit application or received terms of sale prior to myself. That is poor business practice in 2025 when online purchasing is so prevalent. It is important for online consumers to understand how they will be treated by your dealership. I took my wife's car in Monday 9 OCT, to have a noisy exhaust leak checked out; we purchased the vehicle from Central Buick in Winter Haven and always get it serviced there, but this was a bit of an emergency, as we weren't sure whether there was any specific danger from the exhaust leak and my wife needed her car very soon - we couldn't get in for service at Central until the end of the week and that wasn't going to work for us. I waited a short while for the techs to get the car up on the rack to have a look; the service writer came back to let me know (and had photos) that there was a hole in one of the exhaust pipes, beyond the catalytic converter, and that the repair would be extensive as well as *expensive* - nearly $2500. (I wasn't too concerned about the expense, since we had opted for an extended warranty when we bought the car; this warranty coverage had been very helpful on a couple of occasions so far.) The service writer told me they didn't have parts available, so would have to to order them. This wasn't a common item, and I was advised it may take a few days. Since we were quite concerned about any potential danger from the exhaust leak, we were planning to rent a car for my wife to use; again, thinking our warranty would cover everything we assumed the rental cost would be part of that. Fast-forward a couple of fraught days spent worrying about how to get all this squared away... I got a call from the service writer at Kelley on Wednesday, informing me the necessary repairs would *not* be covered under the extended warranty, but that Kelley Buick would be happy to "get with" GM and "work out something" that might reduce the cost to us by half - all the way down to $1000+. Gee. Meanwhile, my wife contacted the salesman at Central who sold us the car and asked his advice; he told us he "really doesn't trust Kelley" and said we should allow the service team at Central to have a look. (Meanwhile, the Kelley service writer called back Thursday mid-morning and left a voicemail to let me know the parts had, apparently mysteriously, shown up "on a truck with blacked-out windows" and that the next move was ours. Mmmm-hmmm.) I took the car to Central on Friday - after being explicitly assured there was no danger to us from such an exhaust leak - and learned that our extended warranty DOES INDEED COVER THAT REPAIR. This is the critical part of the story: The service writer at Kelley either misrepresented details of our claim to the warranty company OR DIDN'T ACTUALLY CALL THEM AT ALL. I don't make accusations like this EVER (which is part of the reason I've refrained from identifying the service writer here; I'll get in touch with the service department manager directly and let that person know who this is), because it's a bad habit to get into and only serves to deepen suspicion without resolving anything; however, in this instance, I don't see any other way of thinking about the situation. Kelley Buick's service department, in the person of the service writer who handled my attempt at getting this problem fixed, either was grossly incompetent in not correctly assessing the warranty coverage or intentionally misled us into thinking we'd have to pay for these repairs, enticing us with some apparently half-baked "offer" to reduce the expense by "working with" GM. This is not a good look for Kelley overall and leads me to caution others against doing business with them. read more

CUSTOMER/BUYER BEWARE GEN MGR-DISHON PUTZ CANNOT BE TRUSTED - agreed to buy a vehicle listed online for an agreed amount with KYLE "DONNIE" JONES, via text message/email and phone conversations. Scheduled to pick up vehicle after learning vehicle needed tires. Also spoke to parts department about what tires that were going to be put on vehicle. When we followed up on completion of tire work was told by a different salesman vehicle was sold, No Phone call back from Donnie, no communication from anyone that there were any issues. Still no phone call from Donnie Jones. Spoke to DISHON PUTZ the GM who said it did not matter that we had agreed and was working with his salesman on the deal and that they did not care that someone else had bought the vehicle so apparently salesman word in what they say does not matter and management does not care. Living an hour away from the dealership Jon and I exchanged a couple emails and phone to agree upon a price for both the new truck and my trade. Upon arrival at the dealership the truck was gassed up, cleaned up and all the paperwork was in order. Jon even managed to take another $600 off the price we had agreed upon. I will never deal with this dealership or Russel Larkey, or Russel Hernandez ever again. My wife purchased an f150 from them and three weeks after we purchased it in the title process the title was deemed "not actual mileage". This is considered a brand on the title and devalues the vehicle significantly. We contacted Russel L and he said they have never heard of such a thing happening like this and reassured us they would look into it and get it fixed. I never received a call from them for a week so I called again. Russel L said they were still looking into it and he said he would call me the following day and he promised he would call. So after not receiving a call for another week I called again and he told me he has been so busy and forgot to call me back again but the manager Russel Hernandez was involved in it and he was going to make things right and get the title fixed. After almost two months of calling them and getting nowhere I went back down there in person and demanded to speak to the manager. When speaking to Russel Hernandez he told us he was just now notified about the situation. (Mind you this was months after I originally called, so Russel larkey lied when he told us he has someone looking into it.) Russel told us he's not worried about the situation and he will contact carfax and he would take the vehicle back in on trade but the trade amount was 10,000 less than what we paid which was 5,000 less than what we still owed. We were NOT upside down on this loan, the only reason we were upside down was from the title brand and the fact that the dealer was lowballing us. He said he would buy it back from us too but it was still going to put us upside down on it since the value he was offering us caused me to have to pay the dealer 5,000 dollars to clear out the loan. This was cash out of my pocket for their mistake. He kept saying he would get it resolved if he bought it back from us but wasn't considered about getting it fixed for us while it's still in our possession. So we are in a position where we are having to pay for their mistake. He also informed us he had this issue with two other vehicles before but apparently lied about this when we first confronted them about it because I was told that this has never happened from Russel L. All they wanted to do was sell us another vehicle and lowball us on the vehicle we just bought from them. I contacted a lawyer and the lawyer said I would end up spending more in lawyer fees than what I could gain from the dealership. We tried trading the vehicle in at all the major dealers in Lakeland and they all wanted to offer us half of what the vehicle was worth because of the brand. We spent months with Carfax and the state of Florida trying to fix it and we got nowhere because it happened when the vehicle was in the hands of the dealership. Finally when they bought it back and me paying the 5,000 to get the loan paid off they were so rude in the office. Russel Hernandez would not even look at us or apologize for the mistakes. They would not give me a receipt for the wholesale purchase so I had to take pictures of it all on my phone of the paperwork. Of course I was worried because all they have done was lie to us. After selling it and waiting 6 weeks for the refund and checking in every couple weeks they never even started the refund process for the extended warranty. Russel Larkey told me several times that it was being handled and clearly he was just telling me what I wanted to hear. After the seventh week I called and spoke to the finance manager and she told me she called Russel L and he said "I am not involved in any of that" which was also a lie because he was part of the entire situation. He was the one who told my wife where to sign on the wholesale paperwork and showing they still owed us 1400 dollars for the warranty. They made a fool of us having to call and check every week thinking something was being done when nothing was even happening. We were waiting for absolutely nothing. This has been an absolute nightmare and I will never deal with Kelley again. They will take advantage of you and squeeze out any money they can out of you. I guess lesson learned, hopefully no one else has to deal with an issue from Kelley like we did. Also good luck everyone getting ahold of them once you buy a vehicle. I had to use several different phones to contact Russel Hernandez because he wouldn't answer a call from me once he found out the new number I was calling on. The only person who made anything happen was Tom Mullen. He was the past point of contact we had who wrote us a check for 1467.00 for the troubles of them failing to file the paperwork for the warranty cancellation. I'm still out 3500 dollars out of pocket because of the depreciation from them giving us less than fair market value for the truck but I'm just glad to be finally done dealing with Kelley Buick gmc and will make sure to advice family and friends to NEVER shop for a vehicle here. read more

Brought vehicle in for basic service a couple of times with satisfactory results but that's where it ends. Following satisfactory oil changes, the vehicle was dropped off to diagnose and repair a hard start issue. The truck was there a total of 15 days and all they were able to tell me was that they were able to retrieve an error code indicating a fuel pump issue. The code was not properly saved thereby preventing further technical diagnosis using the error code. So it sat there for a full 2 weeks while they tried to duplicate the initial error code allowing the costs of a rental vehicle to skyrocket. But why should they care about that, it's not like they are paying for the rental. Also discovered that the service advisors provide half truths rather the whole story. The first advisor said the technician wasn't able to find anything after several days of troubleshooting and would be sending it to a senior tech. After having it 14 days, I was informed by a second service advisor that was assigned to this work order, that no technicians had ever looked at the issue and that it was being diagnosed by driving and starting/stopping it to bring the code back before sending it to a technician. The next day the second advisor stated that the vehicle was parked overnight on a slight incline to simulate the conditions when the issue occurred. What he doesn't know is that I saw where the vehicle was parked overnight. It was observed in the exact same flat spot after the service department closed for the day until the following morning (7am). The service department should have been able to diagnose the problem in about 2 days. read more

Beware - they do not communicate well and even after I asked to NOT sell a vehicle (in writing in email) that I was already approved for the loan, insurance paid in the AM of Tues. I was emailing and working with them to finalize and the SOLD IT less 24 hrs to someone else. After escalating to management, I was told "yesterday someone was already in the vehicle, taking it to a mechanic to get checked out"......well that's great but NO ONE TOLD ME THAT or I would have either moved on to another choice OR I would have put a hold deposit. That is the short version. I never / rarely openly complain about businesses, but this was HORRIBLE service and want to warn everyone DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM or be ready to take the BS. PS: When I spoke to management, rather that saying sorry from the start of the call, he just started "defending" their staff and did not try to offer anything to keep me as a customer. You are a fool if you buy anything from these con artists. I purchased a 2017 Sierra from them. It had 4000 miles. But had it had 3400 engine hours, which is equivalent to 10 years of use. They get all their trucks from Canada with questionable backgrounds. The guy Augustine is especially shady. On 9/22/2015 I purchased a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee from Kelley Buick GMC for $31,000. This past weekend I was going to trade this vehicle in to purchase a new vehicle and the car dealer advised me the my car has a "Branded Title: Buyback Lemon" and provided me a Carfax report that verified this information. He advised me that my car is essentially a worthless vehicle. I was not advised of this by Kelley Buick GMC at the time I purchased this vehicle and this issue with the title was not disclosed to me. I was put in an overpriced car but I needed it badly as mine was unsafe and I liked the car.. The owner helped me alot and I appreciated that finally I had the car and a year of free ojl changes.. They lack the ability to communicate with THE CUSTOMER and most of them are simply dumb....I called Derrick Kelly's son in law, who is a MANAGER, to inquire about a truck, get some prices and hopefully nail something down. At 1130 I was brushed off (because he was at a "business lunch" ) and told he would call me right back......at 230!!! Yes 230 because apparently salesman take 3 hour lunches, he called me back only to give me ZERO leads or information but tell me he would look into a couple trucks and call me back with prices, ect.....as I sit here at 753PM, I still have not got a return call.....none of the information I asked for and have made ZERO progress since 1130 this morning! Not only do you not treat any potential customers this way but esp. Not one that has been a repeat customer for over 10 years! I know that word of mouth is a powerful thing when it comes to customer service and businesses so SPREAD THE WORD! I WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER VEHICLE FROM KELLY BUICK GMC AND URGE EVERYONE ELSE TO TAKE YOUR BUSINESS SOMEWHERE ELSE. Go to a dealership where at least they pretend you matter! My experience from start to finish was seamless and enjoyable. My first phone inquiry to driving off the lot with my new car was perfect. Manny Rodriguez our sales representative did everything right to get our business. Once I bought the car, he continued working at a high and professional level, giving me as much of his time as I needed to ensure I knew how all the gadgets on my car worked. I highly recommend him. Getting the paperwork done was easy as well. In fact all our contact with various staff was great. We were offered refreshments during short waiting period. Everyone was friendly and professional. Every quote the mechanic gave us before he started working on it was wrong. I was charged more for every single quote. I did not notice this until I got in the car on my way home. Also the mechanic quoted the price of the oil changed but I had a free oil change under the buying agreement of my car. Bought our car from Kelley Buick, was even helped by the owners son,the salesman Kyle was great, he still calls to check and see how everything is going. A+ for him and the sales department. As for their service department, they are horrible. Free oil changes and tire rotations came with our purchase. Every time we went down they tried to talk us out of getting our vehicle serviced because they were sooooo busy. That's too bad that I want my vehicle properly maintained and I drove 30 minutes just to bring you my business. Our vehicle has 5 tires on it and every time I asked for all 5 to be rotated I was given an excuse as to why they wouldn't rotate it. "Typically we only rotate 4 tires" is what I got or "I'll have to check with the manager to see if we are allowed to do it this once". I wonder what they do with duallies? On top of that, I was called during a visit and they explained that my brakes needed new calipers because they were stuck and my tires don't spin freely. I told them to not change it I would be down to check it out. When I arrived all the tires were back on and they couldn't prove anything to me. After trying to get 150$ for a caliper, I said I would do it myself(I'm a mechanic). I was given a horrible attitude after being pressured for their caliper. I literally got in my jeep put it in drive and got back out to see my jeep rolling just fine(not safe but I had to check). Later when I did check my brakes, low and behold, nothing wrong with any of them. The other thing that angered me was they use too much torque on the lug nuts. I am a grown man and could hardly get them off. I was told they only torque to 100lbs which was another lie they fed me because I checked(again I am a mechanic) I was pretty upset that not only was I always given a hassle about what was promised with my purchase, but I was lied to as if I didn't know anything about cars. Not once but multiple times. This is horrible business. What's the worst part is they probably do this to other people day after day. read more

If my wife had not been with me and wanted the truck I would have walked out. When meeting with your business manager I was told that you could not get the financing at the rate on the purchase agreement. It was going to be 3.9% instead of approx. 2%. My credit score is 829 and it was on your paperwork. I was pre approved by Suncoast at 1.75% and your Salesman Anthony Edwards new it. I even had the paperwork from Suncoast with me. Anthony even told me that Suncoast was one of the banks that you use for financing. I had asked my salesman, Anthony, previous to our picking up the truck by phone two days before, what was the interest rate from you going to be. I never received an answer. Now I know why, and how you are giving an additional $1000 discount if financed through you. I went to another GMC dealer previously and they could not figure out how you were doing this, and had never heard of it. The financing at your rate is an additional three thousand dollars over the life of the loan. You are obviously getting a kick back or credit from the financing company. I am in the process of filing a complaint with GMC, The Better Business Bureau, and The Florida Dept. of Consumer Protection. I have documented all my correspondence and will be forwarding to them my complaint. After all of this some of my truck bed lighting is not working. Who knows what else was not checked.
