My go to spot when I lived in East Boston. Great pizza and their other foods are pretty good too. I loved grabbing a beer and wings to watch a game at the bar. The prices are very reasonable too. The vibes also give a antique Irish pub ( so very on brand) which feels very casual / down to earth. Ideally I would give it a 4.5, but I gave it a 4 because I think the cocktails could really be improved in terms of taste. The service is really nice but can be slow when busy. read more

This place is really good.. How did I not stumble upon this restaurant before . I was missing out . The food here is really good . It tastes absolutely delicious. Service is great . Portion sizes are generous. The prices are absolutely reasonable. Parking is difficult but manageable. We definitely will be back again. The vibe is the warmest . read more

This is about as classic an East Boston corner bar/restaurant as it gets. From the outside, it doesn't look like much, but step inside and it opens up into a welcoming, neighborhood spot full of character. The food is consistently solid: pizza is excellent, salads are always fresh and crisp, and the steak tips are cooked just right. The staff are fantastic -- super friendly and quick -- and the regulars make the place feel like home. I also love the old photos and memorabilia on the walls; they give the space a real Eastie charm. It's one of my regular hangouts, and I find myself there several times a week. Great food, great people, and a true local gem. read more

Had really great service. The server and the way it was amazing took care of a room of 30 of us with only one little pad of paper by himself. There was also a really good bartender on the front side. She really knew her stuff. They all scary very big selection of some nice small batch bourbons which is just my choice and she had lots of patience had no problem with the different things I was requesting and she just was right on top of everything, I know it was a Monday night. It was super quiet, but they still were really good in that respect will be going back again. read more

Our experience at Kelly Square Pub was just alright. The food was fine, but nothing special. The server was extremely friendly, but she had a lot of tables so service was slow. The ambiance was alright, but it felt like a cross between an Irish Pub and a cafeteria. While I wouldn't avoid going here again, I'm not going to plan another trip. read more

My husband& I went to Kelley's Pub this evening. We started with buffalo fingers& potatoe skins. They were hot& delicious. My husband had a bacon cheeseburger, it was juicy& cooked perfectly. I had the steak tips with fries. They were excellent and the fries were crispy and so tasty. I had 2 espresso martinis that were also great. The atmosphere was fun, nice booths and Keno. Our server Luis was so friendly, professional and attentive, what a great guy. We will be back soon. The prices are very reasonable and the portions are great. read more

I went back again this week and everything was excellent, even better. It's truly old school and a joy to see regular patrons and a staff and owner that is so glad to see customers. As for the food, the steak tips and fries were still incredible and we added a pizza as well which was great. The meal came with a salad and the Italian bread is wonderful. Also, if you like to sit in a booth, this is the place. I'd give it 6 stars if I could! It has a true East Boston feel and great food. read more

Just moved to the area.... the most lovely "cheers" style bar where you walk in to smiles and they have your go to drink before you even have to ask. I have a gluten allergy and they have one of, if not the best gluten free pizza I have had, so many topping options while still having a crispy crust. 10/10 recommend to anyone looking for some good pub food and vibes. Fabulous! Neighborhood old school bar and restaurant with can't be beat East Boston Service. Food and setting is great! First night in town, a Saturday walked in and treated like the Mayor! Good food. The garlic pizza could have been cooked with the garlic added after it was baked. Little too much garlic. The pepperoni and black olive pizza was very good. Classically made with an even share of toppings. The pie was not over cooked, with a crisp crust. Very satisfying. read more

Moved to East Boston last year and this place was on our radar. We had *one* drink early on, and the bartender was super nice and friendly. And funny. Prices are reasonable too. It's a classic pub - boxing memorabilia everywhere, walls that tell a story. A place forged by time and love. A place that can be a second home. But as COVID rates increased, we had to stop going places... Until now. We recently got vaccinated! Decided to finally come back to Kelley's and try the food - and holy moly , it's SO good!! The pizza was perfectly crispy, high quality ingredients, minimal 'flop' and packed with flavor. It may be the best in Eastie. Also did an order of steak tips and sausage - both were cooked to perfection with a lovely smokey char finish. Fries were tasty and well seasoned. Also did a bombolini for dessert, which is an absolute gamechanger. I will dream about it. Impressed with everything. I'm looking forward to it being our regular place. read more

5/5 old school bar and restaurant that hasn't changed with the times and that's what I love about it. This spot is the last of a dying breed of places, you walk in and see Boston legends from floor to ceiling in signed picture frames - signed boxing gloves by golden glove winners, this is East Boston how I remember it growing up. Bar pizza is exactly what I was looking for and crispy to perfection. The honey glazed steak tips were also cooked exactly how I wanted and the waitress who was working with only one other was more attentive than some of the wait staff I have seen at the "high class" places in Boston. Props to this place for preserving this classic East Boston Dive. read more

Average pizza spot. Nothing special. The bbq sauce on the tips was the best part but I've had that sauce before at other places. Steak Tips were not the best cut with many chewy bits. The place seems to be a local favorite. My friend who picked up our take out order said it was nice inside and the staff were kind. Small off street parking lot which is nice. read more

The food is just not very good. I got the potato skins. They were completely overcooked and drenched in processed cheese. This sausage sandwich was completely bland long, flat piece of sausage between two pieces of bread, even salt and pepper couldn't save it read more

Love this hidden gem in eastie The staff was extremely nice and accommodating :) The drinks were very affordable- I got the creamsicle martini which was so tasty & tasted exactly like a creamsicle (and it wasn't spirit forward which was nice!) But the real star of the show was the pizza - yum yum yum! The best part is they have Detroit style & you can add whatever toppings you like :) read more

Been coming here for just over two years now after moving back to the area. What can I say about a perfect little neighborhood spot? A lot of people live walking distance from here. I would put their pizza up against anyone's. The steak tips are also surprisingly good. You get great value on your dollar with the drinks as well! Great place!! read more

There is a lot to like at Kelley Square Pub. If I lived in the area I would visit often. If you are a visitor you won't be disappointed coming here for a drink and a bite. I stopped in Kelly Square on a couple of recent visits to East Boston. If my review were to have a head line it would read, "Better than average pub". The menu has a ton of stuff on it and is a combo of what you might find in a sports bar and a grinder shop - two of my favorite places to eat. I ordered different grinders on my visits. I had great service on all my visits and sat at the bar for lunch each visit. It is very comfortable inside. The atmosphere is casual but not a dive. There is a lot of boxing and some horse racing memorabilia on the walls. It is a little on the louder side for the type of place it is. They ought to turn the TV audio off of they are playing music. All in all Kelly Square is a real gem and a good find. read more

I've been coming here for 10 years. If you haven't had Kelley's you are not experiencing the joys of East Boston. The whole staff is professional, the beers are plentiful (I don't drink but they do a great job at the bar,)but it's not worth reviewing Kelley's unless I mention the pizza. Kelley's deluxe if you want to walk away ready for a nap. That full feeling, where your brain is just at complete and utter peace. You don't get that everywhere, so make sure you have someway to sit down and relax after, or stick around at the bar and drift into complete relaxation. Watch the game, hang out. It's like going to your Grandmothers finished basement. Warm, safe, Inviting, amazing food, friendly atmosphere, I've had many many laughs and shared many wonderful evenings at Kelley's. And plenty of dinners delivered to my apartment that have left me feeling satiated and pleased. First time coming here with my Uncle who comes here frequently. I wanted the 3 piece fried chicken dinner, but they were sold out. It's very popular. My Uncle recommended the Chicken Parm, which was awesome. It came with a salad, bread & your choice of pasta. I got the chicken parm on spaghetti. It was cooked perfectly with a nice big piece of breaded chicken with the sauce & mozzarella cheese. Their tomato sauce is very, very good. Great sized portions & very good food. I would highly recommend this place. It's family owned & run. The waitresses are awesome- friendly & attentive. There's a lot of boxing memorabilia on the walls, which was cool. We finally got some redemption in the North End. For two straight years, my top-tier chum who…read moreliterally went to the school of hospitality and I mistakenly thought we could just wing it in the North End prior to Celtics games on the weekends and find a decent place to eat without a reservation. We were burned two times (not egregiously, but where we had to go to mediocre establishments that had seating availability for a reason), but no more. Parla isn't an off-the-charts Italian restaurant, but it was above average and the cocktail situation is excellent. I stumbled across Parla last year when we were looking for dining options, but alas, not in time to secure a reservation. The cocktail menu looked intriguing (particularly their ye olde shrub cocktail mix and match section) and the location seemed convenient. This time around we made dinner reservations about two months in advance, which I'd pretty much recommend for anything in this neighborhood if you have the ability. We came by this past Sunday before the Celtics/Timberwolves (there were multiple patrons wearing jerseys, including us) around 5pm in the rain. The entrance is a little nondescript but ultimately easy enough to spot. It's a pretty intimate interior with limited seating (maybe 10 tables or so?) and only four bar stools at the bar in the back. We were seated by the front window which was nice but again, offered at that time merely an excellent view of early spring weather. The food we had was good, and yet not the selling point - sort of a compliment, sort of not. We split the seared octopus app, which was interesting but ultimately not my favorite way to eat that particular seafood; I'm used to it grilled. We were both a little surprised to see it in salad form and had to refer back to the menu, which did mention one of the other ingredients as arugula (a fair clue). I would recommend they put the word "salad" in the official name of the app though; my guess is we probably opt for something else if we had that additional information. That said, it was fine - I wasn't crazy about the pairing of octopus and balsamic vinegar/arugula, which to me and my chum dominated the palate over the octopus, which should totally be the star of the dish. For my entree, I went with the chicken parm, which was very good - decent portion for sure and I almost finished it despite eating two other meals fairly recently. Interestingly, the best part is the sauce - it's a sweeter sauce that's thick but not chunky. Really good, and something I'd get again in a pinch. The cocktails are really something. For me, I stumbled a little out of the gate with the shrub section, opting for a mule with strawberry peppercorn. It wasn't bad but for my palate, it felt off - that's a drink I should be getting in July, not a nippy/rainy March evening. On me completely. My chum got the margarita equivalent and liked it enough to order it two more times. But I shifted to a very cool gimmick they had, which I believe was called Dungeon Master (an homage to D&D?), where you rolled a 20-sided die and had to pick whatever cocktail was associated with the specific number, no questions asked. My chum gets a little naughty with gin so couldn't risk it and had to just watch mournfully on the other side of the table as I played twice. Both of my mystery cocktails had gin in it, so...probably the right decision, at least from my perspective. I don't know if I would choose to come back, only to be rushed out again.

The only disappointment was that it came with one scotch egg instead of two. For supper, two of us ordered shepherds pie, one Guinness pie, one Guinness stew and one Fish & Chips. Everyone was very happy with their meal. Great flavor/seasoning, good portions and perfectly cooked beef and fish. We continued to enjoy the Guinness and Smithwick's on tap until the end of the meal when got a round of Irish Coffee which was delicious. Rachel was spot on with her service and attitude and even engaged in a conversation with us about our next trip to Ireland and she reinforced our desire to go the north of Ireland including Donegal where she is from. At some point my wife told Rachel that it was my birthday and that I am not a cake person. Rachel managed to get the kitchen to make a personal size apple crumble which was scrumptious and happens to be a favority of mine. In fact my wife commented after that she would have ordered it but it was not on the menu as a dessert. Another example of Rachel going above and beyond the call to ensure we had a great experience.
