Was at the airport picking something up and decided to try this place. Parking is street parking and I grabbed a spot a couple blocks away. Place was about half full on a Tuesday night around 6:30. Sat at the bar and had a beer. Bartender was nice guy, exactly what you'd expect in a neighborhood joint. He moved at his own pace so service was choppy. I got the BBQ steaktips with rice. They had a nice charcoal taste and were served with a side of BBQ sauce, not basted. The sauce tasted like it was James River BBQ sauce, the sauce used by north shore beef places and was good. Ri e was generic rice pilaf. It came with a basic salad. Overall the meal was good, just wouldn't say great. Will likely return as I want to try their pizza. read more

I ordered this pizza after a late night walk in East Boston. I found Kelley's was the only pizza place opened until 1am during a weekday! The pizza was hot and fresh and smelled amazing. The sauce was not too sweet but also perfectly balanced compared to the cheese ratio. I called the order in but the person who answered the phone was very nice and provided great customer service. It's a typical pizza shop on the inside, with some seating areas. The carriage underneath was the only thing I wasn't happy about. It didn't hold up well with the toppings and flopped which caused the cheese and toppings to slide off. Next time, I will ask for it to be extra crispy! read more

My go to spot when I lived in East Boston. Great pizza and their other foods are pretty good too. I loved grabbing a beer and wings to watch a game at the bar. The prices are very reasonable too. The vibes also give a antique Irish pub ( so very on brand) which feels very casual / down to earth. Ideally I would give it a 4.5, but I gave it a 4 because I think the cocktails could really be improved in terms of taste. The service is really nice but can be slow when busy. read more

This is about as classic an East Boston corner bar/restaurant as it gets. From the outside, it doesn't look like much, but step inside and it opens up into a welcoming, neighborhood spot full of character. The food is consistently solid: pizza is excellent, salads are always fresh and crisp, and the steak tips are cooked just right. The staff are fantastic -- super friendly and quick -- and the regulars make the place feel like home. Had really great service. The server and the way it was amazing took care of a room of 30 of us with only one little pad of paper by himself. There was also a really good bartender on the front side. She really knew her stuff. They all scary very big selection of some nice small batch bourbons which is just my choice and she had lots of patience had no problem with the different things I was requesting and she just was right on top of everything, I know it was a Monday night. My husband& I went to Kelley's Pub this evening. We started with buffalo fingers& potatoe skins. They were hot& delicious. My husband had a bacon cheeseburger, it was juicy& cooked perfectly. I had the steak tips with fries. They were excellent and the fries were crispy and so tasty. I had 2 espresso martinis that were also great. The atmosphere was fun, nice booths and Keno. I went back again this week and everything was excellent, even better. It's truly old school and a joy to see regular patrons and a staff and owner that is so glad to see customers. As for the food, the steak tips and fries were still incredible and we added a pizza as well which was great. The meal came with a salad and the Italian bread is wonderful. Open late and delivers with their own drivers. This place was recommended by the women working the hotel desk. I ordered the combo pizza and within 40 minutes it was at my door. A nice flavor with a good crust. Also fresh ingredients. Way better than chain pizza. Next time I would ask for it well done as I like my cheese dark and greasy. Moved to East Boston last year and this place was on our radar. We had *one* drink early on, and the bartender was super nice and friendly. And funny. Prices are reasonable too. It's a classic pub - boxing memorabilia everywhere, walls that tell a story. A place forged by time and love. A place that can be a second home. But as COVID rates increased, we had to stop going places... Until now. We recently got vaccinated! Decided to finally come back to Kelley's and try the food - and holy moly , it's SO good!! The pizza was perfectly crispy, high quality ingredients, minimal 'flop' and packed with flavor. It may be the best in Eastie. Also did an order of steak tips and sausage - both were cooked to perfection with a lovely smokey char finish. Fries were tasty and well seasoned. Also did a bombolini for dessert, which is an absolute gamechanger. I will dream about it. Impressed with everything. I'm looking forward to it being our regular place. read more

5/5 old school bar and restaurant that hasn't changed with the times and that's what I love about it. This spot is the last of a dying breed of places, you walk in and see Boston legends from floor to ceiling in signed picture frames - signed boxing gloves by golden glove winners, this is East Boston how I remember it growing up. Bar pizza is exactly what I was looking for and crispy to perfection. The honey glazed steak tips were also cooked exactly how I wanted and the waitress who was working with only one other was more attentive than some of the wait staff I have seen at the "high class" places in Boston. There is a lot to like at Kelley Square Pub. If I lived in the area I would visit often. If you are a visitor you won't be disappointed coming here for a drink and a bite. I stopped in Kelly Square on a couple of recent visits to East Boston. If my review were to have a head line it would read, "Better than average pub". The menu has a ton of stuff on it and is a combo of what you might find in a sports bar and a grinder shop - two of my favorite places to eat. I ordered different grinders on my visits. I had great service on all my visits and sat at the bar for lunch each visit. It is very comfortable inside. The atmosphere is casual but not a dive. There is a lot of boxing and some horse racing memorabilia on the walls. It is a little on the louder side for the type of place it is. They ought to turn the TV audio off of they are playing music. Been here a few times and have tried the chicken parm, lamb tips, and pizza. The pizza was mediocre. But not bad enough that I wouldn't get it again. Chicken parm was fine-ish but super oily. When I ordered the lamb tips they were actually delicious, however I ordered this as take out and they forgot to give me the side it comes with (fries). So I basically paid $15 for 4 or 5 lamb chunks and a side salad with some pathetic looking lettuce. Probably won't be going again.
