Been here a few times and have tried the chicken parm, lamb tips, and pizza. The pizza was mediocre. But not bad enough that I wouldn't get it again. Chicken parm was fine-ish but super oily. When I ordered the lamb tips they were actually delicious, however I ordered this as take out and they forgot to give me the side it comes with (fries). So I basically paid $15 for 4 or 5 lamb chunks and a side salad with some pathetic looking lettuce. Probably won't be going again. I've been coming here for 10 years. If you haven't had Kelley's you are not experiencing the joys of East Boston. The whole staff is professional, the beers are plentiful (I don't drink but they do a great job at the bar,)but it's not worth reviewing Kelley's unless I mention the pizza. Kelley's deluxe if you want to walk away ready for a nap. That full feeling, where your brain is just at complete and utter peace. You don't get that everywhere, so make sure you have someway to sit down and relax after, or stick around at the bar and drift into complete relaxation. Watch the game, hang out. It's like going to your Grandmothers finished basement. Warm, safe, Inviting, amazing food, friendly atmosphere, I've had many many laughs and shared many wonderful evenings at Kelley's. First time coming here with my Uncle who comes here frequently. I wanted the 3 piece fried chicken dinner, but they were sold out. It's very popular. My Uncle recommended the Chicken Parm, which was awesome. It came with a salad, bread & your choice of pasta. I got the chicken parm on spaghetti. It was cooked perfectly with a nice big piece of breaded chicken with the sauce & mozzarella cheese. Their tomato sauce is very, very good. Great sized portions & very good food. I would highly recommend this place. It's family owned & run. The waitresses are awesome- friendly & attentive. There's a lot of boxing memorabilia on the walls, which was cool. First off, I called them to make sure they were open since it was Columbus Day and I'm from out of town, so I was just making sure. The guy who answered the phone was super rude. After I asked him what time they close, he said 11 pm, I said thank you and he immediately hung up without saying bye or anything...sooooo rude!!! Judy!!!! Stopped in on a Sunday with a vicious hangover. I've never been to Kelly Square but many people told me to give it try. My prayers were answered by a wonderful feisty bartender named Judy. You can tell she's a fixture at this place for years. We start talking and she suggests a White Russian to try to level me off. What a perfect cure, a couple of these and I was back on my feet. My wife and I just went for the first time. The service was warm and great. Truly cared for how we were doing and followed up frequently. The food was fantastic and top end. Bacon wrapped scallops were fantastic. Chicken Parm Sub was huge but perfectly cooked and tasted great. Ordered online for a delivery. Living less than a mile away I got the food in about 30minutes. My calzone was missing in what they delivered. Overall, not a bad place to eat at all. The waitress was attentive which I always appreciate, though she seemed a bit annoyed to be there. No biggie as we're all entitled to have an off-night once in a while. The food was good, though I'd recommend perhaps cooking the haddock stuffing separately in the future as it tasted like I was eating baked fish stuffed with raw stuffing. Everything I ate that needed to be fried was good (mozzarella cheese sticks, steak fries). I'm not sure if the multitudes of signed photos on the walls are supposed to enhance the ambiance of the place, but I didn't really feel at liberty to get up and look at them up-close for fear of upsetting my waitress or the management. You got a love this place it hasn't changed in years. The workers are all friendly they make great drinks and they even have a conversation with you. If you're a sports fan you'll enjoy walking through and checking out the gloves and some posters of some of the long gone heroes. The drinks are at a fair price and the pour is generous. The food looks good unfortunately I did not have a chance to try any but I have been in there multiple times and the drinks at A1. Parking is a little tough but I always seem to find a spot. We were driving around thinking of where to eat when at the red light I saw Kelleys and instantly said lets go there I want their teriyaki wings. If you've ever had them you know how good they are. We always used to order from here when we lived around the corner, now we go to their location in Peabody since we moved. We literally order teriyaki wings anytime we visit. Today the waitress brings the wings out and instantly i see they are way over cooked (and we like blackened).We tried the wings, that were barely covered in the delicious teriyaki sauce and both agreed that they were way to dry. I wish I could have taken a picture but things went left quickly. We called her over , and simply stated the wings were over cooked. She instantly got defensive and said thats how they come.. I replied I've eaten here and Peabody and many times. She rudely said so you want another order or no? Yes another order. She come back and puts the same wings on the table and says the cook says thats how they are. We didn't speak so she kept saying the same thing... In my head I'm furious but only told her there is nothing else for her to say. I work in a customer facing environment and I wasn't going to react and ruin other peoples meals. I was staying at a hotel nearby and figured I'd order from this place since the hotel was advertising it and it has 4.5 stars on google. Quick delivery but the food was inedible I had mozzarella sticks and fries which were both terrible and cold some how even with the delivery being fast. The worst part of this experience was the steak and cheese sub, after 2 bites I discovered a plethora of bugs (weevils) as shown in the photos.I swear that meat was not steak, it was so dry and rough. I was sick for the rest of the day and lost my appetite for days. It made me not trust any restaurant. I got a full refund but that didn't make up for anything as I was sick the whole day. My husband and I were here for a rehearsal dinner. They had a private space for our sizeable party which was excellent. The menu included mozzarella sticks, pizza bites, salad, chicken broccoli ziti and chicken parmagiana. Overall, the food wasn't bad and the atmosphere was great. All the servers were great, friendly and welcoming. The biggest complaint of the night was how AWFUL the chicken broccoli ziti was. Now, given the choice between the chicken broccoli and ziti and the chicken parm, I would have been all over the chicken broccoli and ziti. The white wine in the sauce was not reduced at all and caught you in the throat. There was some strange breading on the chicken which was completely mushy, at the time it was served, not even later on. And the pasta was overcooked. Definitely the worst chicken broccoli ziti I've ever had and I probably wouldn't go back to this restaurant again. read more
