Steak n' Cheese Stack with Fries, side Caesar, chicken strips, and wildberry rose sangria.
    Isobel C.

Came here mid-day on a Sunday. Restaurant wasn't very busy but it seemed that there was only one server on. This led to slow service and we didn't get our drinks until we had already been sat for 20 minutes. The food was good. I had the steak n' cheese stack with a side of fries. I felt that there was too much tortilla and not enough of the steak & cheese. They also didn't ask how I liked my steak prepared and it came out medium-well. Not my preference but this made the steak chewy and I would have preferred it made medium. The messy cookie sandwich was absolutely delicious. The cookie was warm and topped with icing sugar, chocolate fudge, and caramel syrup. The wildberry rose sangria was also sweet and really hit the spot. Would be a perfect summer patio drink. Overall, I wouldn't order the steak n' cheese stack again but Kelsey's is a classic family restaurant with decent dining options.

I've been to quite a bit of Kelsey's locations in the past, but unfortunately, I can't say that this was the best experience. The food was just all right, I've had the spinach dip so many times in the past, but for some reason it was very dry when went. We also always order the deep-fried naan, and it seems as though they were left in the fryer a little too long, because they were very very tough, dry and difficult to eat. The sweet potato fries and wings were all right.

Arrived for lunch around 1pm (Wednesday) with 2 adults and 1 child. The restaurant wasn't busy and we were seated right away. Service was rather slow but super friendly. Food was OK -- pretty average. However, the amount of salt on the fish and chips was a bit crazy (see it in the pics) Haven't been to Kelsey's in years and won't be in a rush to go back.

Haven't been here in ages but decided to come in for the half price wings on Thursday. Our server was super sweet and really attentive. We got the half nachos and it was more than enough for a group of 3. I would recommend the thai sauce for the wings, good amount of sweet and spicy and one pound was a great size. Would definitely recommend the half price deal!

Reminder that this isn't a 5 star establishment. The service was good, the waitress was attentive. The food is pretty greasy bar food, but I really enjoyed the onions rings and I love the spinach dip! It used to be a lot better but it still has the taste, just the presentation was a little off. I'd probably go back if I was craving some greasy cheap food. Keep Eating, Angela

I don't visit Kelsey's too often but their food is a bit hit and miss here. For starters we shared the calamari and spinach dip appetizers with fried pitas. These were delicious. The calamari while not plentiful was nicely tender and had a creamy chunky aioli which had sun dried tomatoes in it! The calamari also came with a variety of veggies such as breaded onions, jalapenos, and red peppers. I was told the spinach dip here is a must order and it was! It was super creamy and cheesy and there was just the right amount of pita as well. You had a choice of getting fried or baked pita but we went with the fried ones for more of a crunch. I went with their burger fest special for the main and was rather disappointed by it because it looked phenomenal. It was simply too dry. It was a good concept with good toppings but the execution wasn't there. The buffalo chicken fingers were huge (it comprised of maybe 50% of the burger!), crisp, and nicely sauced but the chicken breast meat itself was too dry. The beef patty was also rather dry, combined with a dense bun as well made it very hard to swallow down. I'm not sure if this was a single incident or not, but only if the burger was juicy this would have been an amazing one! The same deal with the chip truck style fries, they were rather thick as well but that's moreso due to the style here. The fries here are definitely good if you like that kind of style! Service was really pleasant here and I liked the atmosphere which was very relaxed.

Fabulous Nachos, appetizer menu, and burger selection is awesome. Alcohol beverages have jar sizes - great value for your money! Dessert menu is also good - funnel cake fries are to die for! Calamari was way over cooked - actually you could see black burn marks. Had to send it back - reorder was much better. Someone not paying attention. If you're looking for decent greasy comfort food - this is your place!

Went here the other night as an alternative since our first pick was full. Normally I like Kelsey's but was quite disappointed with this visit. Though the staff were friendly, the service they gave wasn't the greatest. Not sure if they were understaffed or what but it certainly felt like it. First, we were seated at a booth that was missing a bulb so it was a little dark. Second, the waitresses were quick to try and get our order but once we finally decided what to have, our orders took forever. I like to give everyone the benefit of a doubt so I'm guessing the kitchen staff too were short. But then when our food finally came, it was disappointing. I ordered the chicken strips which were pretty small. Then my side of plum sauce was literally enough to dip their already tiny chicken strips, twice or thrice at most. Also the batter was way over cooked to the point that it was borderline burnt. With the strips, I got some sad looking pieces of carrot and celery. Definitely wasn't worth the $11.99. 2/5. Calamari portion looked generous at first until I realized they had added some chips that were camouflaged with the Calamari. They were at least good, though. Just didn't appreciate the illusion. The chips were under the Calamari which have it that fuller basket effect. 3/5. Spinach dip was alright. Would've been nicer if it were actually warmer. 3/5. So if you look at what we ordered above, you'd think that we would've gotten our order pretty quick, right? Nope. Again, we waited I'd say about 30mins for our food to arrive. On top of that, the dessert that came with the kids meal also took forever. As mentioned, staff were nice and I'm just guessing that they may have been shirt staffed. However the food quality was quite poor and not to mention the place needs to be updated a bit.

Chicken Fest had some lovely offerings and after the Szechwan chicken bite, I tucked into the Thai Chicken Curry bowl. Great music in the bar area & good service with cold pints. I'll be back.

It's not bad. The party was itty-bitty and the price was around 10-12 dollars. Cheese was added upon request (extra). Probably won't be getting this again.

We went around 2:30 on a Sunday afternoon. We waited over 5 minutes to be seated, and the restaurant was not busy. Honestly, the food and drinks were decent but the service was so bad that I can't give it more than 2 stars. I guess they were understaffed but I don't think that's an excuse.

I got the Killer Bee and maybe because of how saucy it was, the chicken wasn't really crispy and lacked flavour. I'd want to give it another chance. I've found ordering through websites and apps to be super hit or miss with the chains. So a more unadorned burger would definitely have stayed under the $6 promise. After adding some cheese and bacon to both burgers we were definitely over. We also ordered a large fries and rings which made the whole meal come out to around $20. We tried to save but how can you say no to the Swiss Chalet fries and Harvey's onion rings?? Harvey's really does have that little touch of quality. Their cheddar cheese just hits a little different and the patties really taste like they came off the grill. I've never had the Harvey's Sauce (nor did I actually know they had this) so I threw it on the burger as well since it was super simple to add stuff on the app. I didn't really taste it distinctively but overall the burger had that fresh veggie crunch and was nice and saucy.

It's yummy. I live under a rock when it comes to Swiss Chalet offerings. My dad is much better at it. He seems to know when there's roast beef on the menu. It's back! On Saturday, I wanted to have roast beef for lunch. I was running my usual errands in the eastern part of Markham. Spending roughly fifteen minutes to drive over here wasn't a big deal. This eatery is on Kingston Road. I had no problem finding it. I grabbed an available parking spot that was facing the side of this eatery and parked. I then walked over. I waited to be seated. It took a long time for someone to come over here. I saw a man a good five times run in and out of the kitchen. I imagined that he was busy serving customers. He was Cesar. He would end up being my server. I got an older woman who came over here. She exuded being the nurturing type. She was tiny (I'd guess less than five feet tall) and sweet. She got a menu and seated me at a booth while taking a phone call. She let me know that Cesar would be coming over soon. Her shift was ending. She still managed to get me seated before she left. That's good customer service. Cesar came over. I had enough time to browse through the menu. I knew what I wanted. I ordered these items: - Diet Pepsi - Hot roast beef sandwich with mashed potatoes and gravy, and market vegetables. I felt like his hearing or comprehension wasn't the best. He first thought that I wanted water with ice. I let him know again that it was Diet Pepsi. Same goes for the sides. He thought that I wanted fries and mashed potatoes. Um, no to two potato sides. He apologized and said that it was his first day working here. Ah, everything made so much sense! The dashing everywhere. It was probably nerves and learning so much on the first day. The same thing happened with the couple behind me. The woman wanted extra chalet sauce for her chicken. He forgot it. She reminded him. He eventually got it for her. He moved from Colombia. I bet it was quite the cultural shift for him. It's likely still the case. I got my Diet Pepsi. It was cold and yummy. I ended up getting another refill later on. My hot roast beef sandwich looked so good when he brought my meal over. The steam made me smile. I love a hot sandwich smothered in gravy. The two slices of bread with the most tender roast beef between them, covered in beef gravy, was divine. It was yummy and comforting. I loved the mashed potatoes. I got a side of gravy with it. It was a double gravy day. My veggies were perfectly steamed. They also got dunked into my gravy. Cesar asked if I wanted dessert. I was so stuffed that I couldn't eat anymore food. I asked for the bill. The payment machine had a prompt for a Scene+ number. I asked if it could scan the barcode off my phone. It couldn't. I presented my Scene+ number. He was great entering it in. I paid with a credit card. I tipped and tapped. I let him know that he did a great job on his first day. He appreciated it. It helps to provide encouragement, as taking a steady set of orders can be a challenge. I used the washroom before I left. It was clean. No complaints. I saw Cesar enter the kitchen. Instead of continuing to enter the kitchen to fetch food, he briefly came out and wished me a great day. It was nice. I reciprocated and told him to take care. It may be a small thing to provide encouragement and offer a compliment, but it's is meaningful to the recipient. I'm glad that it made Cesar's day and, in turn, mine! If you are doing takeout, you enter the restaurant and make a left. There are self-serve kiosks to place your order. I didn't see a human. I hope that you can also place an order with one there, too. Otherwise, go online to place your order and head to this counter to pick it up. I'd return here again for more good eats when I'm in the area. (195)

Customer Service re-entered my order for the missing items. 2nd delivery driver showed up with only a side salad! Beyond ridiculously frustrating.

Tips: - Portion sizes are huge…read more - This eatery specializes in barbeque chicken. A few Sundays ago, I visited The Avenue Restaurant and Lounge for the first time with friends. The food, drinks, and conversation were wonderful and much needed! There's lots of seating. Many come here for special events, such as birthdays. There was a family at the back o the restaurant having a bash. There's also a side room that offers more privacy for such occasionings. The bar was pretty. The bartender was nice and funny. We felt like drinks and got the following: - Rum punch - Hibiscus paloma The rum punch had a generous amount of rum, with cubed fruit that felt like a bonus while enjoying this beverage. The pineapple wedge was awesome as a fruit lover. The hibiscus paloma was excellent. It's new on the menu and so refreshing on a hot summer day. Frankly, it went down too easily! The food was stellar! We ordered a bunch of dishes and shared them family-style. We consumed these dishes: - Chilli chicken poutine - Pepper shrimp - Chicken wings - Extra special fried rice - Sweet and sour chicken - Volcano chicken This eatery specializes in Caribbean Chinese food eats. It is also famous for its barbeque chicken. This place does chicken right. Everything was delicious. If I were to select a couple of favourites, they would be the chilli chicken poutine and pepper shrimp. This place does fusions and spicy heat extremely well. The chilli chicken poutine was awesome. It combined my love for chilli chicken that is tender, flavourful, with some heat, with crispy fries and cheese curds. So good! The pepper shrimp were amazing. The shrimp were fresh. I loved the light batter that was crispy and crunchy. I love chicken wings. They were meaty and crispy. I tried a couple of sauces. The dragon sauce had a good amount of spice. I don't know what the other sauce was, but it didn't have a kick. It was mild and yummy. The extra special fried rice was awesome. I loved the fried rice. It had the right balance of veggies, chicken and rice. There was a lot of it! It was then topped with more chicken. The skin was crispy and yummy. The chicken was plump and moist. I took some home because we had a lot of leftover food and this dish was so comforting. The sweet and sour chicken had the right tangy-sweet mix. It wasn't overly sweet. I loved the veggies .This place does chicken so well. The morsels of chicken were yummy all coated in the sauce. The volcano chicken was excellent. It's crispy, tender chicken coated in a spicy sauce that packed a lot of good flavour. I got to witness one of the chefs out on the grill, barbequing chicken. I brought home a barbeque chicken meal over fried rice, that came with mac and cheese, and potato salad. This meal was divine. The chicken was flavourful and tender. The meat effortlessly fell off the bone. The fried rice was perfect. I loved the potato salad that had peas in it. The mac and cheese cube had good flavour and al dente macaroni. The portions are massive. Leaving hungry can't be done! I had a fabulous time. I look forward to returning for more good eats and drinks with good company. (316)
