We stopped in for lunch while visiting Niagara Falls. The restaurant wasn't very busy, which initially gave me pause, but we decided to give it a try. Our waiter was excellent, friendly, attentive, and one of the highlights of our experience. If you're seated along the edge of the outdoor terrace, the view of the falls is beautiful. Unfortunately, our party of six was too large to be seated at one of those tables, so our view was more limited. My husband ordered a cocktail and questioned whether there was much alcohol in it because it tasted very weak. The waiter explained that Canadian standard pours are smaller than those in the U.S. He ordered an extra shot, which improved the drink. Overall, the food was average. The Caesar salad with shrimp was delicious and probably the best item we ordered. However, the kids' chicken fingers lacked flavor, and the honey mustard tasted like plain mustard mixed with honey, which my son didn't enjoy. I ordered the burger, which is only cooked to one temperature. I found it dry, and the bacon was undercooked. My husband and I ran to the falls Thursday and Friday morning from our hotel and saw this restaurant looking all fancy. So we decided to go for lunch on Friday. We were able to get a reservation via open table and the process was smooth when we arrived. We sat outside. The views were amazing. The food was delicious! Party of 4 arrived for late lunch on a weekday. We were told there were no rail seatings available so we'd have to wait but the kind staff made another table happen so that we could enjoy the view for lunch. We ordered the berry salad, short rib sandwich, burger with parm fries, chicken entree and fish tacos to share. Food took some time to get to our table but it was all pretty good. The berry salad was nice and refreshing for the warm day and it accompanied the burger with fries well- something to offset the juicy patty. The waiter was really kind. If I could give this place 0 stars, I absolutely would. First of all, if you have a disability and rely on a service dog, do NOT come to this restaurant. My family and I came here for lunch, and for the first time in years of having my service dog, I was treated in a discriminatory and humiliating way. After requesting a table, the woman at the front desk immediately asked for paperwork for my service dog before allowing us to enter, even though my dog was clearly wearing his service vest and actively on task. Confused, because this has never happened to me before, I provided proof of my dog's registration and training from the USA. After reviewing it, she called her supervisor. The supervisor then asked again for my dog's paperwork, and after seeing the certification, she requested veterinary documents. I explained that veterinarians do not issue paperwork certifying service dogs. After that, she asked me for medical documentation and proof of my diagnosis. At that point, I felt completely discriminated against and violated. Not only was I denied entry because of my disability and service dog, but they were also requesting deeply private medical information that I am not obligated to disclose. A psychiatric or medical diagnosis is confidential, and no restaurant employee has the right to demand that information. The supervisor clearly did not understand the laws or basic rights surrounding people with disabilities and service animals. Instead of treating me with dignity and respect, I was made to feel embarrassed, misunderstood, and unwelcome. I would never recommend this place to anyone who depends on a service dog. Be prepared for an uncomfortable and bitter experience. Well we fell for it! :) Honestly, I didn't expect much, but the menu offerings were pretty impressive, the food was good, and the staff was super friendly. We came for an early dinner. We got a great seat by the 2nd floor balcony. You could feel the heavy air from the falls and it was a great fall and people watching spot. The restaurant had some fun cocktail and mocktail drinks. For appetizers we got the pull apart cheesy garlic bread, meatball sliders and the melon and prosciutto salad. The bread is so soft and addicting. It's hard to not fill up on it, but try! The meatball sliders were great and devoured by my family. They came as three sliders. The salad was a generous size and I loved all of the flavors of the melons, prosciutto, cheese, and greens. The salad could have been shared by 3-4 people. For main dishes we got the lamb loin, falafel platter, truffle pasta, and a kids' burger. The falafel platter was another generous portion and offered a good variety of accompaniments to the falafel. My daughter loved the truffle pasta. We had such a great evening at Queen Victoria! We used Open Table to book a reservation and scored a great table on the railing with a perfect view of all the falls. Our server was wonderful. We did the Prix Fixe 3- course meal ($65 ea) and had: fried ravioli & prosciutto -melon salad; Stuffed chicken breast & braised beef; and chocolate cheesecake & banana crumb cake. The view of the falls can't be beat from the patio of this restaurant, but the food was the worst that I've had in any recent memory. We came with a large group (20+ people) and we fell victim to the 'set meal' option due to our large group size. The meal started strong, with some great bread. I love a crusty bread with olives in them, but unfortunately the meal went downhill very quickly from there. The mushroom soup was edible, the salad was a bit limp and I had to pick out some particularly soggy pieces. We had a choice of mains between chicken breast or salmon. The choice didn't matter as both were dry, overcooked and hard has a rock. I preferred the plain boiled veggies that it was served with. Dessert was berry crumble that tasted of the fridge. My father has a bad sweet tooth and will eat anything sweet, he didn't even finish his portion of dessert which I have never seen before. To add insult to injury, the meal was on the expensive due to the prime tourist location. Do yourself a favor and just order a drink to enjoy the view. Skip the food. read more

40th Birthday dinner.Food was good, but our server didn't exist. We arrived at 8:15 and the server was running all over the restaurant absolutely frantic. He wanted us to order our 3 course meal all at once but we were trying to have a casual dinner experience and started with drinks. Once he had our order we didn't see him again until 5 minutes before they closed (which oddly is at nine and I said odd because the fireworks are across the street at 10 so seems like a missed opportunity) Anyway, no bread service, no water refills, no second drinks, no checking to see if we even had food. He did manage to bring the bill and it was $150 over the correct amount. I was steaming but just paid the correct amount and decided to go sit at the bar and have a cocktail. That's when we were told they were closed and we had to leave. It was 9:05 and on our way out the door we told no less than 8 people walking up to enter the establishment that they had closed. The Reuben pretzel bread was good but the Reuben meat, although good lacked more meat in my opnion even as a slider. It felt like a sheet or two of paper. The Ontario smoked Trout was also good, just not outstandish. The plating could be improved. It looked like a big cow tongue to me for some odd reason. Again, it was good, but not great. Also had the sweet corn brûlée. Nothing different. It was a brûlée. Good but not lock your socks off. Service - service was good and waitstaff attentive enough. Ambiance - if you are lucky enough to get seated at the edge outside, then you will be rewarded good Niagra Falls views. I think this is ultimately the draw here. Verdict - views and waitstaff are good. But maybe improve on the food part to make this a 1-2 punch! You have the rest of the ingredients to make an awesome experience. I then waited the rest of the dinner for the opportunity to mention something to our server but no one seemed to notice or care that I had not touched my food in the slightest. I didn't want to make it a problem so I didn't go out of my way to find someone to complain to but if our server would have asked how our food was I would have really loved the opportunity to tell her and give the restaurant the opportunity to do anything about it. For such an expensive meal you would expect the staff to care about how customers are enjoying everything. I ordered the Rueben sliders. The mini pretzel buns were cute, and I liked the pub mustard, but I wish there would have been a bit more sauerkraut on the sliders. My friend ordered the butter chicken on naan. The chicken was one large piece instead of a smaller pieces of chicken, and her sandwich came out cold. We asked the waiter if this was how it was supposed to be, and he said the sandwich should have been warm. He offered to reheat it, but it was clear it was warmed up in a microwave. Hubby & I had a side order of french fries since we were sharing this meal. The fries were really delicious. The view from the balcony where the outdoor seating is located is really lovely. They do have a wheelchair accessible entrance from the side & back of the restaurant but if you want to sit on the terrace there are some steps. The washrooms were also clean. The waitstaff was friendly & efficient. We got our food pretty quickly & our bills when we asked for it. The indoor dining is pretty large. I'd come here again to try other dishes for sure. It's a short walk down the hill if you're staying at the Hilton Fallsview. Prices are tourist prices so don't expect a cheap meal. I feel bad giving reviews that aren't 5 stars, but I guess the point on here is to give honest feedback. The service was great, the views were great, but the food was just so so. It seemed pricey, which we are fine with pricey, but just expect it to be super flavorful, which it was not. And it could be that pasta is made differently in Canada than in the states. None of us loved our dishes... Perhaps the breakfast is better. They definitely do try to give you a good experience, but I guess you can't please everyone. read more
