Most expensive wings order $11 for 8 wings...not jumbo as described and $1.50 extra for blue cheese dip and celery & carrots stick. Caesar salad (small) is good according to my son. My daughter thinks her honey garlic is good. My hot wings are good flavoured but definitely not good value. After 2 orders, my son and I are still hungry, will have some dinner after movie. Ambient is nice while it is under construction. Hopefully they will increase portions as this is one of the closest restaurant in my neighborhood. Best of luck to new owner. Taste is definitely better than other 2 restaurant in the vicinity, not as good as Betty. Far below Blue Star in Welland. Lesson learn check Groupon for menu prices.

Menus as of October 2018

The Gouda Burger was excellent! The Sweet and Spicy Thai Chicken was good, but extremely spicy! And the vegetables included with it were a little heavy on the ginger. The waitstaff was kind and pleasant, though slightly less attentive than I expected, they never seemed upset when I went to them for service. Clearly some renovations are in progress, it's looking very nice but some of the things that haven't been touched (yet?) could use some updating.

Looks like they closed down. Another one bites the dust. Doesn't anyone know how to run a successful business here in town?

The food was delicious, the prices adequate. For a pub lunch/dinner on the patio quite nice and recommendable.

Review Highlights - Riverside Tavern

Live music was playing in the square across the street and the river views were beautiful from the patio.

Doc Magilligan's Restaurant & Irish Pub - Fish & Chips always good

Sure, it was good... but Doc's knocked by socks off. I went here on a recommendation from the staff at a hotel that competes with the Best Western where Doc's is located, which is always a good sign for a hotel restaurant. Got the corned beef boxty, which is amazing. With the boxty fries, which were really good - much better than standard fries, in my opinion. And had the sticky toffee pudding for dessert. Heavenly. I actually went back two days later after dinner at another restaurant to have the sticky toffee pudding one more time. The atmosphere is very nice, like a pub should be, with good service from the bartender, music the second night I was there, and some good conversation with a fellow traveler from London (Ontario). The odds are high that I'll be back. If you're looking for somewhere to burn all the delicious calories, my suggestions are the Niagara River Recreation Trail (from Fort Erie to Niagara-on-the-Lake) and the Niagara Gorge Hiking Trails. Three and a half out of five for Doc's matches. They burn well, and are a cool souvenir, but it's difficult to strike them on the side of the box. Still useful to have around the house where I can strike them on the side of another box, but not ideal for a retro night out on the town.

Tasty Pub Fare, Great Vibes & Even Better Reuben Bites!…read more Doc Magilligan's is a cozy Irish pub with a solid menu, a great beer selection, and a lively atmosphere. We really enjoyed the live music--it definitely added to the vibe, though it did make chatting a bit tricky at times. That said, the sets were short and added a fun touch to the evening. We started with a few appetizers, and everything hit the spot--the cauliflower bites were tasty, the spinach dip was solid, but the star was definitely the Reuben Bites--absolutely delicious! For mains, my wife ordered the mac and cheese and loved the depth of flavour--you can really taste the leeks, which was a nice twist. I got the chicken parm mac and cheese and thought it was fantastic--the chicken was juicy, crispy, and perfectly done. The rest of our group was just as happy--my brother raved about the Chicken Pot Pie, and the Bangers and Mash were also a hit. Overall, a great Irish pub experience with comforting food, friendly vibes, and some standout dishes. Definitely worth a visit!

We went during a Monday afternoon, which was probably the best time since we were seeking a "family…read morefriendly" lunch spot. There were more than a few day drinkers hanging around the bar and patio, but no one seemed inebriated. To be honest, though, I probably wouldn't bring my kids here on a Friday or Saturday night. It was obvious we weren't locals and even more obvious we were there to eat (not drink), but I did not feel at all uncomfortable or out of place. Our server (a blond barkeep) was super duper nice. She was friendly, pleasant, and chatty. She definitely enhanced our visit! And the food was totally awesome! It was our first time having poutine and I'm not sure it was standard (it had shredded cheese instead of cheese curds) but it was delicious! Like really really really good. The burger was juicy and thick. The fries were totally yummy. Kid #1 said the chicken parm sandwich was good, and I thoroughly enjoyed my Philly cheesesteak. The prices were totally reasonable, too! Definitely a bargain considering the decent price for excellent food! For sure we'd visit Cool Hand Luke's again!

One of Boyfriend and I's favorite restaurants! This was our…read morefirst visit since they re-did the menu and went with itemized pricing, instead of the "five items for $85" menu they used to have. Of course it is more expensive to eat here now, but still worth it! Delicious food, especially the appetizers. We were sorry to miss our favorite, Kaileigh, but Julie was great and very patient with our table (lots of loud talking and we took forever to choose what to have, lol). TO Bestie joined Boyfriend and I for dinner and really enjoyed her first visit! We shared the goat cheese and beef tartare apps... omg... go just for the apps! Absolutely perfect. She had the chicken and I had their new mushroom pasta as mains. Very good. Boyfriend had a Caesar salad and some steak - I think it was a striploin - he didn't care that much for the steak which was a bit tough. He would definitely stick with the filet mignon next time. Great restaurant and absolutely one of the better dining options in Niagara Falls. Also 18+ so no children running around, and great atmosphere. Beautiful fireplace. All I would add is ambiance music or something (if there was any, we couldn't hear it).

The service was extremely personal and Dan was the most genuine. Don't go to the tourist trap places, walk around the block and eat here. You won't be disappointed!
