I had 11 miles to go indicated on my 2019 RAV4 Hybrid. I always fill until the first click. I log all of my fill-ups and I expected to fill no more than 12 gallons.I never expected to fill 14.957 gallons!!!! I have never come close to than even after the indication of no miles to go. This is very troubling as the capacity of my tank is 14.5 gallons according to the operator's manual!!! I complained to the guy in the booth and he said he will have it checked out. Wow! Has this place gone down the drain... I choose to use chevron fuel in my car since my employer pays for my gas. I feel like I am at Arco. Most of the time, the receipt doesn't come out of the machine therefore I need to go inside and interact with the sedentary employee. No apologies for my inconvenience and when I do ask what's the wrong with the receipt capability, I get the traditional I don't know... Ken Betts, send a secret shopper to your location and get back to where you were 20 years ago. Oh by the way, I was there last week after 6 PM and went to get my receipt and no one was in the office at all! Banged on the door as well as the shop door and no response. My car was vandalized, the catalytic convertor stolen, while I was visiting a friend in Oakland. I live in Carmel. My husband had worked with Omar, from Ken Betts for many years and suggested I call him. He was very nice and extremely helpful. He worked with me and my insurance company quickly and efficiently, and went way out of his way to search for the convertor which was hard to find due to to much theft of this parts. He and I worked to together to locate one of only a few in the city. He actually went in person to pick it up to make sure we had it. The repair was done very quickly and well. Omar was exceptionally helpful in so many ways. I highly recommend him and Ken Betts for good personal service and repair. read more

Worst gas station ever. The attendant got mad because I threw my small bag of trash and pointed me to the city trash. Why the fuck does your gas station have a bin that says, "trash". If I spend 80 dollars at your gas station I should be able to throw my trash in your bin. Legit came out just to tell me that because she's to lazy to do her job. Never going here again and will never refer anyone her. Stay away from this location!!! read more

This place is always consistent and never have issues pumping gas where the pumps are broken.

BEWARE: the owner Ken Betts charges DOUBLE the going rate for smog tests: $80! Meanwhile, standard shops charge $30-40 and the nicest, higher end smog shop in Oakland (Auto Row Smog) charges $48. I couldn't feel any more scammed right now, Ken Betts is a bad member of the community. read more

Have experienced a subpar cleaning job and poor customer service before, but at a critical time for my end of lease inspection, I was turned away. Coming back early the next morning, I waited 30 mins and payed $28 to still have dirt everywhere inside my car after the "VIP vacuuming". I will never come back here and neither should anyone else. read more

Fantastic service. We had a nail on the Lexus GX front right tire and needed to be patched. They not only pulled the nail and was able to patched in record time. EXCELLENT, superb service by Peter. Came in on Friday afternoon, Jan 29, 2021 with a car's whose battery had just died! Had gotten it to go, but asked if they could check it to see if I needed a new one. So helpful and so efficient and with all the Covid protocols being followed. The person who helped me, PETER, was just great. Had to wait like one second for him to check it. Said I needed a new one and he put it in for me in less than 10 minutes. Can't tell you how grateful I was and how impressed I was. -- At the check out my BofA card wouldn't go through (BofA had sent a text to my phone asking if I had made the charge for the battery and did I approve it ---BUT - I did not even think to look at my phone until after about 7 minutes after the great checkout person, Olga, kept trying my card. - She was so nice and so patient!. Picked up a nail in my new Mercedes. Called the Mercedes dealer who could squeeze me in the next day if I left the car for the day and said the tire repair would be a minimum of $60.00. Needed it ASAP so called different places and even went to a tire place and waited for a while. Remembered Betts in Montclair. They checked out the tire and said to bring it back in the morning. Had it fixed and ready to go in 30 minutes. Charged $22.00 - very fair price and less than most other tire places. Employees were super nice to boot. read more

I usually support Chevron, because I support the corporate level's environmental record, but this one ---- a surly manager and poor service. Furthermore, the site is a narrow triangle of land, and the way the pumps are configured on the property, it seems that cars pulling in, pulling out, and getting gas are forever in each other's way. I've been using Ken Betts ever since I saw their commercial in between innings at an Oakland Athletics game. Fueled up hundreds of times at their stations and unfortunately I've had to use their Towing services a number of times and would use them over and over again. They are very efficient and helpful. Really not a stellar car wash for the money. They just don't clean it that well. Everyone who works here seems depressed. They should have a tip box instead of just letting people tip the guy at the end who dries the car. What about the guys who vacuum and clean the wheels? Don't they get anything. I can stand around and hand out multiple tips to each person who touched the car. read more

This is a really good neighborhood gas station. The help has always been courteous, and the property is always well maintained. Furthermore, the AAA approved repair service is great. Tommy and his team have always provided us with prompt and courteous service for our family cars at a competitive rate. I have even had them smog my car while strolling through Montclair Village. Overpriced shoddy work , Long story short my car died on me in March 2017 , I had it fixed with these GUYS So to FIX my car they put a refurbished alternator in my car wrong and also put something they weren't supposed to in the radiator ,, My cars been acting funny with weird gross sweet smoke coming out from under the hood every time I get it home , also making a rattling noise ever since their $350 - $450 repairs . I wish I could give this place zero stars. First off, the gas is way over-priced at this location and it's a pain to get in or out of. And now - their service, or rather lack thereof. I had a flat tire on a new used car - from driving over a piece of metal and had a slow leak. I called and asked if they could fix it, told them the make and model of my car, and they said "sure, no problem." So I limp the car down there, pull it into the mechanic bay, the guy comes out, takes one look at it and tells me he can't fix it because it has wheel locks. I asked him where I could find those and he looks at me and tells me "I don't know - it's your car." Then, very politely, I explained that it was a new car and I wasn't sure where to find them, and where do they typically keep them in cars. He looks at me like I have 3 heads and says "Use the air pump, go home, find your locks and come back later." I was so upset I wanted to cry. Never ever going here again. read more
