Cheap. Clean: they open up all instruments in front of you. So I came here with a different cousin for a wedding manicure and pedicure. I basically only get a mani/pedi when I go to weddings (once a year). I kept trying to book appointments, and they are so slammed that (a) they never called me back, (b) they didn't pick up the phone half the times I called, and (c) only had availability two days out at 3pm. Upon getting there, I started with my pedi with one person. She cut one of my cuticles so short that it bled for five minutes. We went through three cotton balls, and the cuticle hurt for four days. As she put my flipflops on, the pedicure got smeared. A different person did my mani, and she seemed a lot more careful. My manicure has been gorgeous and lasted 2 weeks so far without chips. Clearly this place is popular, but making an appointment is too much work. Also, the quality is highly dependent upon who you get and how many people are going through there. read more

Julie is my favorite!! Definitely recommend her! Been going to Julie for about 2 years and she's done me great. If you like getting acrylics, request her. I personally love the long skinny coffin shape and she shapes it perfectly every single time. These pictures are only a couple sets I've gotten done by her Besides Julie's incredible skill, she's also very sweet and funny. I love her because sometimes we'll talk about what's going on in life, sometimes we both sit in silence while she concentrates. Either way, she's such a pleasure to be around. I came with my friend to get my acrylics and a pedicure. They did a great job! I didn't catch the name of my manicurist but she was speedy but a perfectionist. She finished my nails in under an hour and constantly checked in with me to make sure I liked them. I also really like how they had a big tv you could watch from any part of the salon. I called earlier today to schedule for me and my mom. I was able to book an appointment this afternoon for two pedicures and a gel manicure (for me). I was recently in a car accident and had back surgery so I currently wear a back brace and use a cane. I was kinda worried about being comfortable in the pedicure chair but was put at ease when I arrived. We were greeted and directed to sit in the pedicure chairs. The receptionist helped me adjust the chair angle (I can't lean back) and put a pillow behind my back after my mom requested. I felt really comfortable! They brought us a basket of the nail polish samples and I chose 5 colors for a pastel rainbow. I was so impressed they were able to perfectly match the regular polish to the gel nail polish colors! Julie did my pedicure and Jenny did my manicure. They were very considerate of my injury and allowed me to sit in the pedicure chair for my manicure. I'm very pleased with the overall experience and how my nails look. My mom loved her pedicure too. COVID-19 precautions/cleanliness: There are acrylic panels placed in front of each pedicure and manicure station (between you and the nail artist). Hand sanitizer is available at the front counter but I felt they should force people to use it upon entry. The woman sitting in the chair next to my mom (not 6 feet away) was not wearing a mask despite sign on front door requiring mask for entry. Other than her, everyone else was wearing a mask. One customer requested her chair to be sanitized...it didn't seem like this was a routine practice, but probably should be. My arm rest table looked like it hadn't been cleaned for awhile so I made sure not to touch it. Payment: They only accept Venmo, Zelle and cash so be prepared. The receptionist was very patient and helpful. She asked if my girlfriend wanted to get a design on her full set. We also added a pedicure for her. When we got there, everyone was so nice and efficient. I made the appointment for just my girlfriend but was able to accommodate me since I was convinced by my girl with the help of the staff to also get a pedicure (deluxe pedicure) and boy was it amazing. My feet is STILL so soft! They give really good foot massages too. The chairs were so comfortable I almost fell asleep. On to her services, my girl wanted to get a full set with French tip outlines, an off white color with rhinestones and 3D flowers. The front desk girl helped us choose the right colors and gave us many options with the design. They made sure to tell us the price and asked if we were ok with everything. Very thoughtful as to when they do one finger and showed it to us to make sure we're ok with it before putting it into the light. The facility wise was really clean, modern, and organized. If you're looking for a high-end ambiance along with great pampering, I highly recommend their services. The owners and employees really stand by the quality of their work, and it shows! Will definitely be a repeat customer. I was so thankful they were able to take me in for a last minute appointment and I appreciated that everything was very clean. My esthetician giving me a pedicure needed up cutting the skin on my toe making it bleed. I opted for a deluxe pedicure with salt scrub which I felt like they barely rubbed into my skin. I booked an appointment here because after reading the Yelp reviews. I'm satisfied for the most part. They have a good range of colors and the salon is spacious and clean. The woman who did my mani/pedi was nice, and help me achieve the look I wanted. The pedi also came with a hot stone massage, which was nice. And she was accommodating in getting things in and out of my backpack. They suggested I get gel since this was for a wedding. I know it lasts longer, but I don't do my nails often, so I just needed it to look good for the wedding day. Because the color I chose was a light pink, I think it could've used another coat. I saw some spots where the polish was thin. The next day, which was the day of the wedding, I felt some pain in my left big toe. It was a bit swollen, and started to look like the start of an infection. I've been putting Neosporin on it, but it's still swollen. What I did like was that I was able to pay before the manicure, which was $40 not including tip. A mani/pedi is $35 but I guess the last coat of sparkly polish was considered nail art, which starts at $5. My friends' nails looked fantastic. One of them got acrylic and the other gel. So maybe that's the way to go when getting your nails done here. Not sure if I'd come back, though I don't live in the area anyway. I just hope my toe heals fast. read more

I was told to go straight to a chair and an older gentleman did my pedicure and a woman did my manicure. It was soooo fast, like almost too fast. The guy was trying to hurry up to get the nail polish color over to the woman who did 2 coats super fast and then the top coat even faster where you can see from my pics are visibly not fully covering the nail polish. It's day 3 and they're sadly already starting to chip :( wonder why.... I don't mind paying $60 to get my nails done but it does bug me when there's not some attention to detail. I have been a loyal customer of Kens for almost 3 years. I have always done dip in powder and gone to a few different nail technicians throughout my time. When I first started coming in 2019, the price was $45 for dip. The quality was great and I was always happy with the end result. There were a handful of occasions where I had to wait 30-45mins when I had an appointment but I remained loyal because of the quality of my nails and fair pricing. In 2020, the price went up to $50 which is understandable given inflation. I have been going to Julie for the last year+ and she is one of the best nail technicians I have been to. She is quick, kind, skilled and artistic. This review is not related to Julie at all - she is wonderful. When I went 3wks ago for another Dip set, the lady who checked me out said "we have been giving you a discounted rate because you've been such a loyal customer. It's always been $55 but we never charged you the extra $5 because of your loyalty. But now everyone must pay the same." I thought this was a bit odd but didnt question it since many other nail salons charge around $55 for the same service. Then, when I went to get my nails done again today I was charged $60. I immediately questioned this as my service was identical to what it was 3wks ago. When I asked, they said that Julie had added a tip which is $5. I've had a tip added to this same finger for the last 6 months because it doesn't grow as long as the others. Never have I been charged for a nail tip. When I shared this, they said it costs more because "my nails are longer." Again, my nails have been this length the last few times and have never been charged extra (photos included below for reference). I am more than happy to pay for a service, and always tip generously, but it has gotten to the point where I feel there is a level of inauthenticity when coming up with the amounts customers are charged. I have a few different friends who come to Kens for the same exact service and some are charged $50, others $55 and then me at $60. I am very sad to say that I will no longer be returning to Kens. My recommendation is to have your prices listed transparently in the salon and online and also ask whether the recipient would like to add an additional cost onto their service before completing the service. If I had known the tip was now going to be $5, I would have said no when asked if I wanted a tip. People need to know there is an upcharge for certain services before they go to checkout.
