Jenny did an amazing job with my gel pedicure, she was so sweet. You have to book your appointment, and spots fill up quickly in the afternoon. They currently only accept cash, zelle or venmo for payment. The salon is clean and organized. Even though the place was full it did not feel hectic like other busy salons I've been to. They take their time and make sure you're happy with your nails. Also, I appreciate that the regular pedicure (base price $30) included the lotion rub with hot stones. Other salons I've been to offered that as part of their more "deluxe" packages. As with most places, gel add-on is $15. My sister and I requested the same service, but were charged different prices on the receipt and we didn't notice until we went to pay and my sister asked me "What did you ask for that cost $5 more?" I responded "I don't know I thought we got the same thing." And immediately the gentleman at the counter said "Let me check" without us having to ask him anything. My nail technician cut my cuticles at 2 different spots during filing so my skin was stinging through the rest of the experience :( it's still stinging as I write this review. He was a super nice person so I feel bad for giving any less than 3 stars, but the nail itself is also just ok. Thought I'd treat myself to a mani/pedi on a quiet Sunday afternoon. Called 2 hrs ahead for opening. Was told to come at 1:00. Got in and service hurriedly became less than calm. Midway through my manicure, yI was rushed from the pedi chair to sit and continue my manicure meanwhile being told to relax, relax! I finally said this is not my idea of relaxing. I'm being rushed from there to here. I watched the nail tech next to me raise her voice at her client because she wanted her cuticles clipped. The tech walked away speaking in her language but in angry tone. My visit prior to this one was unsatisfactory as my polish peeled on the second day. I thought I'd give it another try. I've been here many many times and it's sad to see the service become less inviting. I go to relax not to herded like cattle. I will search for a more calmer environment. read more

Finally after living in the Dublin area for 2 years, I have found my "spot". I've been here a few times now and each time their work has been consistent despite having different technicians. After one day, with a regular manicure, my nails were badly chipped. During my manicure new owner stood in front of me and talked in a language other than English to the technician. The technician, who had done my nails beautifully for 2 years rushed through my manicure. I was discouraged from switching from gel to regular manicure. When I called to report chipping, new owner told me that chipping, next day or 2 days later was what resulted from regular manicure, no credit given, I was to return and pay full price for gel. I will not be returning. Owner makes assumptions about my home activities as she did when I called to discuss. My friend and I came here one day near the end of summer to give ourselves a treat before the school year started again. We each got a pedicure with a foot massage. We were able to walk in and were seated within a short amount of time. The pedicure was normal, nothing too special. Our treatment came with a warm rock foot and leg massage, which was really nice. My favorite part was sitting at the drying table to just talk and catch up with my friend. Ken was very professional and made sure my nails looked the way I like them. It's a relaxing atmosphere, and there's not a constant rush like there is at some other places. Just left here and I am shocked at what they just charged me. I have been going here for 6 months regularly and they charged me 5$ to cut down my nails and shape them "square"- I have never heard of that in my life and I've been getting my nails done for 20+ years. My nails are normal length and I don't have any tips on them. When I questioned the lady at the front desk as I was paying and she just said " that's what we charge" and then shrugged with a deal with it kind of attitude. I was seated immediately when I arrived and Susan worked on my pedicure. She did an amazing job and was incredibly sweet. Tammi worked on my acrylic fill/gel mani while I was getting my pedicure and she exceeded my expectations. I'm really picky about my nails when it comes to shape. She did an amazing job. I recently moved to the Dublin area and wanted to find a good nail shop near by. The front staff is very polite and welcoming. However, the nail techs are not. I cannot speak for all but I will say that Nina is very rude. It's almost as if you are bothering her by being there which is so ridiculous. She is also very rough and does not care to show it. She is not helpful at all. I was asking her about nail colors and she wouldn't even have the decency to suggest a color close to what I wanted. her response was " I can't help you, you need to pick a color" I was sooo uncomfortable this last time I was there it was such a horrible experience. The gal sitting next to me was complaining about how rude they all are. Her nail tech was Julie and same thing, we were trying to figure out colors together.. Before seeing Nina I saw Julie and she was just as horrible. I get my cuticles done every time at an extra charge. She didn't even bother to soak my nails in water prior to cutting the cuticles. I go back and forth with Kens and how I feel about it. Most of the time I have a good experience. Pedicures and manicures are normally good and I always do gel for both. I had a few negative experiences but in the handful of months I've been coming to Ken's my nails last up to 3 weeks no problem. The salon is spotless, probably one of the cleanest nail salons I've seen. They're great about taking people on time that have appointments. With each pedicure they change out the plastic lining and put in a new one in front of you. The reason I go back and forth is because of the staff. Since I do gel and I've been doing it for years now I asked that during my manicure that my nails aren't soaked in the soap and water. Reason being because when they are the gel polish peels after a few days. I think it's because my nails aren't dry when they start painting. When I told the technician I didn't want them soaked she tried arguing with me that that wasn't correct. I understand they have a way that they do things but this was my only request and she tried fighting with me about it! I just found it to be rude and unprofessional especially since it was such a small request. The other negative is that I've had a few technicians cut me and made me bleed while cleaning up my cuticles. Each time has been because they're distracted by talking to their fellow co workers. I love Ken Nails! My sister recommended this place to me a year ago, and I have been coming here consistently since. I have a regular manicurist that I'm obsessed with. Hannah always does an amazing job, and I won't get my nails done here unless she's working. Bennie is also amazing and very personable. She was the first person to do my nails when I came here and provided great conversation, as well. One person I would not recommend is Jaime, she doesn't listen to me when I tell her what I want and does what she wants anyways. I think this salon is great. Annie did my acrylics and did a fantastic job. Today was my first time here so I came in with an open mind. Normally I drive all the way to San Ramon for my nails, but I needed something for today. I called and they quoted me $40 for a new acrylic gel set. I made an appt for 2 and arrived at about 1:45. The only reason I gave them a 4 instead of a 5 star is because the smell is VERY overpowering, much more than normal. Also I did have to wait until 4:15 for Annie to start working on me. My total was $43 because of the shape I got. I would have liked to know there was an additional charge with shape/length. Other than that, it would have been a perfect 5 star. If I could give them a 4.5 instead I would. I'm a bad nail biter. When I don't have acrylics I bite my nails almost down to stubs. Annie made my nails look gorgeous. She really worked to clean,cut, and file around my cuticles which no one has ever done before. I think my nails turned out beautiful and I will be back. The acrylics are not too thick and more natural looking than other places. I LOVE their ombré French manicures. My sister and I came here on a Sunday night, we called at around 3pm the same day to see if we were able to come in and they set us up for an appointment at 5pm, which was really nice of them! I got an acrylic full set and my sister got a mani/pedi. I was really impressed with how they did my nails- the cut and length was exactly what I wanted and she didn't make my nails too thick. I love them a lot! Bennie really took her time and she is so sweet! The nails ended up being $38, which is a great price for the amount of work she put in. The only downside is that one of my nails is longer than the rest and she didn't put any lotion on me after. My sister was semi-happy with her mani/pedi, she felt that it was a little rushed, which made sense since they closed at 6. There are also some bubbles in her nail polish. Hers totaled to $40. I also asked for a stamp card, which I thought we would get 2 stamps, but they only gave us one stamp. Overall I would come back here for acrylics and gel nails!! This has to be a great place, right? I mean I was referred by a friend who raved about this place and backed up with all these great yelp reviews, how could I go wrong? I went for a shellac manicure yesterday. Nail tech (young girl with braces) was very quiet. I didn't get her name and she barely spoke but I felt like she didn't want to be there because she let out a few heavy sighs. This being my first time here and not knowing anyone, I thought maybe this was just her personality. In between coats, I noticed some weird wrinkles in the polish on my thumb as I took it out of from under the drying lamp. I pointed it out to the technician and asked her what it was. She just said, "it's ok, I fix it". I asked what caused it and she just said, "it's ok" and put another coat of polish on it. I trusted she knew what she was doing so I didn't question it. When finishing up, she put a small amount of lotion and oil on my fingertips and rubbed it into my skin. At first I thought she was doing a massage but I'll admit, I was slightly amused when she just rubbed the oil/lotion up my arm and slapped my arm in two different spots. I thought it was strange, but different people massage in different ways and I just figured this is how she does it. When she got to the other hand, that didn't happen, so not sure exactly what that was supposed to be. Anyhow, I walked out with my nails looking nice. Fast forward to next day: After I showered, I noticed bubbles under my nail polish. Could it have been the water that caused this? I've been getting my nails done for years and have never experienced this before. When I rubbed some of the bubbles, the top layers actually lifted from my nails and underneath was wet sticky polish that I was able to just wipe off. I called Ken and told him what happened. I told him I would like to have them re-done. He said they were booked and couldn't take care of me until the next day. I had expected they would try and accommodate me the same day so I was disappointed about that. I also told him I did not want the same girl to do them because I didn't think she knew what she was doing. He became defensive, defended the nail tech and tried to blame me for not letting them dry long enough. They had been under the lamp for a good amount of time and the tech actually told me to take my nails out from the lamp! Then he said that maybe I didn't move my hand under the lamp to activate the light. After we hung up, I thought about the poor way he handled this and decided I didn't want anyone over there to touch my nails, so I called back and asked for a refund instead and he refused. I had to go somewhere else and pay to have them clean up the mess made at Ken Nails Spa. Very disappointing experience and even more disappointed in how it was handled. I loved Cindy's work. Attentive to detail, concise, friendly. She's new to Ken's but you can tell she has been doing this for a LONG time, is talented at it, and loves it. She also kindly explained why touching my phone after the alcohol is placed on my nails makes it prone for the polish to peel faster later on (FYI: natural oils make polish peel! lol) and told me to stay away from hot water as well.
