It was my first time here because a coworker recommended this place. She told me how everyone here is very attentive to detail, and she was not wrong! I got gel X nails done by Julie, and she was great. She kept asking me every step of the way if I was okay with the length, shape, and color. I did espresso/chocolate glazed donut nails for fall (the photos don't do my nails justice lol). She helped my find a base color that matched closely to what I wanted. (Posting my review draft from June 2022) We called ahead and made an appointment confirming that there was no wait. But upon walking in, we saw that there were a lot of people getting worked on... and waited over 40 minutes just to be seated. We came here because our usual place told us we would have to wait, but by the time we were seated we could have just gone to my regular place. They had me soaking my previous nails off for another 15 minutes before attending to me. Also, I wanted a simple pastel rainbow, but they didn't have a lot of pastel colors available, so some of the colors looked a little muted as well. I was pretty unhappy with the results I got after waiting for so long, so I didn't even bother taking a photo It would have just been easier if they had been truthful about how booked they were from the start! read more

I literally just want to keep them a secret because I'm obsessed! I have been to several nail salons all over the bay and this by far has been the best. They include gel in the price which is nice and they have very fair prices compared to other salons I've been to. But what I really love is that they don't shy away from a challenge. No matter what I bring, they are willing to tackle it. Nina especially killed this set and freehanded the face. I was damn near ready to hug her cuz they were so cute. But I guess it's time for me to stop gate keeping it. Walk here, don't run, cuz I still need to make sure I can get an appointment lol read more

I've been to this nail salon 5 to 6 times. I didn't care for my pedicure so I never had this service again. My nails have been done with Nina 4 times and I have to say she is so rude, unhelpful and acts annoyed from start to finish. Last time she was so rough while filing that she cut my skin. The top coat didn't cover the whole nail (missing on sides). I came back to have this fixed and she didn't bother cleaning my nails before putting another top coat on. I went back and saw Julie this past time. She was also rude! The acrylic nails were a little long so I asked to just take very little off. She took off quite a bit so I said they're a bit too short now and that I only wanted a little taken off. She responded "first they were too long and now they're too short?!" She didn't offer to fix it but instead made me seem like I'm crazy. She didn't put the powder close to the cuticle and she didn't clean the nails well. I found ken nails on Yelp and they did not disappoint! I loved how my nails turned out. They tried multiple different methods to replicate the gradual transition and after multiple different tries, we finally settled on something. It was BEAUTIFUL!! Julie and Helen are truly talented! They even added the chrome toy nails instead of just regular sliver to continue with the 3D theme. I don't remember who did my pedicure but she was truly the best! I came here to get my nails done last week. I called for a same day appointment for later in the evening at 5:30 and when I came earlier (around 5:10) they sat me down right away. There was one other person there getting a pedicure. It was a little hard to navigate where the plaza was but it's right next to the gas station & pet store. This is the only place I have been able to have my full set last 3 weeks so I like coming here. Julie takes her time and typically does perfect French tip. The only issue I have here is how expensive it is, I feel like nails are getting more and more expensive yearly. The other negative its there a technician that smokes quite frequently and I get super bad headaches from the second hand smoke smell. Regardless, the work done here is worth it and I haven't had a bad nail experience from here. read more

I called Priti (P-R-I-T-I) the receptionist at 1:00 PM to ask if the threading specialist I like was available. She told me yes, the specialist was available today and also tomorrow. I explained that I live an hour and a half away and specifically drive out for this particular service provider because she does great work. Priti said that was fine and told me there were no appointments scheduled, so I could come in anytime. At 2:35 PM, I called back to confirm that I would be coming and asked if there was an appointment available. She said they had an opening at 3:15 PM. I said that would work. She then abruptly hung up without taking my name or confirming anything. When I arrived and parked, I called back because I realized she had never taken my name to hold the 3:15 appointment. I had my seven-year-old daughter with me, who is sick, so I wanted to be sure the appointment was secured before bringing her inside. Priti told me she could not put my name down unless I physically came into the salon. I did not understand why my name could not simply be written down over the phone, especially since she was the one who hung up without confirming details. Then she started to say, show me your car .. I will come out to see you in your car so I know you are here. I got frustrated because why would I want anyone to see my car when I'm trying to give her my name for the appointment?! She said she doesn't believe me that I'm here and calling to put my name on the time, I was so confused! The situation escalated unnecessarily. Instead of resolving it professionally, she involved someone named Neil, who told me they would not service me and that I had to leave. For someone who drives 1.5-2 hours specifically for their services, this level of rudeness and lack of professionalism is unacceptable. Clear communication and basic courtesy would have prevented this entire situation. Unfortunately, due to the poor and dismissive customer service, I will not be returning. I will also report this to the business bureau.

I come in once or twice a year, usually before a beach type vacation to get my back waxed. They have always had someone at the front desk when I walk in, but not this last visit. Let me mentioned before getting into it, the place is always clean, the entrance, Hallway and wax rooms. The wax service is always fast, professional and as relaxing as it can be getting waxed. I never had a scheduling problem until now either. This last experience was not good. I arrived at 1030 my scheduled time, but no one was at the front desk, but I could hear someone talking on the phone in the room behind the desk. I waited 5 minutes figuring they would come out, but no, so I start to ask if anyone here? No response for 2-3 min, so I asked again, then a lady with black and purple hair comes out of the room and say someone will be right with me and turns back around into the room to continue to talk on the phone, as if I was bothering her at work!! Then a few minutes later, another person comes out from down the hall (I think she was actually with a client) and asked if I have been helped, I said no and told her my appointment was at 1030, she tells me the appointment was at 1040 (this was at 1042, already past my apparently rescheduled appointment) and said someone will be with me shortly. Then the other lady that was talking on the phone comes out from the room behind the desks. I sat there about 5 more mins until my wax person arrives, say sorry for being late, and gets ready (it appears they changed the appointment because the wax person was running late), they never told me they changed the appointment time (no text like all the other notifications, which I like from this place). The appointment was never changed on the website, only locally, maybe they just lied for her, and told me 10:40. Oh and no one ever came out of the room behind the desk after the phone call lady, while I was waiting for my room to be ready. It was clearly a personal call at work and she didn't want to be bothered at work. At the end, I still tipped, against my better judgement, a lower 10% rather that the usually 20%. The wax person was late, but apologized. I think I will return because up until this time it has been great, but not sure.

I've been a loyal client at Ken's Nails for over three years now, and I cannot recommend this place enough. From the office manager to the staff, everyone here genuinely cares about their clients. Their customer service is unmatched--they always go the extra mile to accommodate appointments and provide the best possible experience. Recently, there was a little miscommunication on the length I wanted for my nails and it's nobody's fault, I was a bit confusing with my request. While they still looked beautiful and perfect, they were a different length than I expected. After I mentioned this the next day, the team immediately reached out, offering to fix them to ensure I was completely satisfied. I didn't need them fixed since they still looked great, but the fact that they were so proactive about making sure I was happy really stood out to me. No other nail salon has ever gone that far, and it proved to me that Ken's Nails truly cares about their clients. They understand how important nails are to a woman's energy and self-confidence. The entire staff here is incredibly hardworking, dedicated, and attentive, making sure every customer leaves happy. What's amazing is that over time, they get to know your personal style and preferences, which makes every visit feel even more special. Still, it's always helpful to show your nail tech a picture or idea of what you want, as they see so many clients each day with different requests, and it ensures you get the exact look you're going for. This place is racist and incompetent. They argue with customers (especially Black customers) for asking for what you want. They only want to do what they want. I asked the nail tech Kim to cut a little shorter and keep the same shape and she got an attitude with me after pretending she didn't understand English. She kept insisting that I told her I wanted my nails shorter even after I told her she cut them too short. Then she asked the lady at the register Michelle to come over and starts lying and saying that I'm not letting her do her job. Anytime I tried to express myself they both over talked me. Kim started to get disrespectful when I reminded her I was the customer and I should be able to ask for what I want. They started being racist. Michelle even told me I was drama and unladylike like for asking to speak to a manager and voicing my complaint. I will never come back to this nail shop. They only want to do whatever they want to your nails and they have no respect for Black customers. Do not come here if you are Black or if you like being treated with respect. I had such an amazing experience at Ken Nails and genuinely can't recommend them enough. From the moment I walked in, the service was professional, welcoming, and attentive. Anna did my nails using the poly form/builder gel method (the plastic form technique), and she absolutely exceeded my expectations. She was kind, gentle, patient, and incredibly detail-oriented throughout the entire appointment. My nails came out BEAUTIFUL -- the shape, structure, and finish were flawless. You can really tell she takes pride in her work and cares about her clients being happy. The woman who did my pedicure was also wonderful, even though I unfortunately didn't catch her name. I'm a regular so I brought my cousins and sisters here for our wedding nails and wow they are AMAZING. They were so happy with the services. We made the appointment beforehand and they were very organized. They offered us complimentary drinks such as coffee, water, tea, and even wine (both red and white)! We brought champagne . They were all very welcoming and sweet. They helped us choose colors, designs, and even explained different types of manicure. Ohhh and the best were the deluxe pedicures. 10/10 would recommend, they had the paraffin wax, sugar scrubs, callus treatments, and a longer massage. I LOVE the hot stones. I always have a great experience at Ken Nail Spa! The service is consistently excellent, and the staff is both friendly and professional. Jenny does an amazing job with my tap gel and French manicure -- she's incredibly detail-oriented and always makes sure everything looks perfect. Ken no longer owns the salon so don't think your going to get the great service and perfect nails that he provided--- and they raised the prices. I thought I would give them a try as it is close to my home but it was the worse nail fill I have ever had. The girl took almost 2 hours to do the fill, the white was uneven and the top coat was not spread on evenly. My manicure chipped as soon as I got home. I let my nails fully dry before leaving the salon and they still chipped right away. Their polish looked kind of cheap and it applied pretty clumpy. I think the nail technician realized it too because she added something to the polish to thin it out. I'm guessing it was acetone. When they hand you the book of nail colors and ask you to pick your color - don't do it! Go to the polish wall and select opi or an Essie polish or skip this place altogether. All in all I was appreciative of the ladies taking their time even going a little over closing as the last customer in shop!! I got an overlay on both of my big toes and you wouldn't even be able to tell shouts out to Tony and Sue for that.I would also love to shout out Thoba for my stiletto/almond cateye fullset 10/10!!

I'm honestly very iffy when it comes to going to new nail salons, but this one is in the same plaza as my job so I wanted to give it a try and I'm glad that I did. I appreciate her kindness and transparency from the very beginning. The salon is very clean and it doesn't smell strong of chemicals which I really appreciate. I wanted milky white base with a pure white French tip, and she was very transparent about my expectations She made it clear that doing a dip powder with milky white base and pure white tips, would almost not show considering putting white on white. I told her that was OK and let's continue on anyways. She respected my request and finished my set which in the end I do see where she's coming from however, I am very happy with the set that I got.

I loved the guy that did my pedicure. That being said the chair was uncomfortable, no cushioning…read moreand could barely feel the massager. Also they bring out a pan to soak your feet, no pedicure jet spa..really? Also like another person mentioned the colors don't seem to match from what you pick on the pallet verse the bottle. With all of that being said idk if I would go back....
