I was/am having a major quality issue with a contractor currently installing tile in the entire upstairs of my house. This included the stairs. I repeatedly inquired with the contactor on areas that I thought were wrong, including stair tread depth. Each time the contractor stated that they were the experts and I didn't know what I was talking about. That's when I hired Kenco. The inspector that came out was very knowledgeable. He actually took the time to explain why things needed to be fixed and what future problems I could have if they weren't. Of course the stairs is the main concern. He gave me suggestions to review with my contractor, who of course refused to listen. The detail report Kenco provided is very valuable. It shows, with pictures and explanations, what is wrong and why it needs to be fixed. It will be very helpful as I need to proceed with legal action against my contactor. I called Kenco the day before I needed an inspection as my insurance was not renewed and I had to expedite getting insurance. I spoke with Zach and he facilitated someone to come out next day. Zach was also helpful in answering some questions I had with the whole process and assured me it could get do e wuick. They were available to come out 1130 the next morning. The technician called to let me know he would be a few minutes late which was not an issue and he actually showed up right on time and was very polite. I have used Ken for three prior home inspections and I always request him because he is thorough and professional. He shows up on time and provides you with a written report within a matter of days. His findings allow me to make a decision as to whether I will purchase or negotiate a fair price for major findings that may affect the purchase in the long run. Without his expertise, I may run into difficult or problematic situations in the long run. He noted everything he found and had pictures to support each issue.
