What an amazing place! It is a restored firehouse turned into a hotel near MIT. Near the T, quiet neighborhood and great food options

Underground hotel parking. 52$ per night. You can easily access your car and come and go at any time.

What an incredible boutique hotel. There are so many lovely touches and details that make this hotel stand out. The front desk has great recommendations and even a coupon for free oysters at Row 34 which also had a life changing butter lobster roll. There's a beautiful sitting area on the top floor. Everything was exceptionally clean. We were close to the T and walking distance to most of the sights we wanted to explore. 10/10 recommend!!

I stayed here for an overnight a few weeks ago because I was attending a conference at MIT. The place is absolutely adorable. The decor is extremely unique and charming with a true feel for the history that Boston holds. It does not feel like a sterile, cookie-cutter hotel. Rather, it is home-y because of the size and style of the place. It is new and very clean, but it almost resembles your grandparents house. It feels comfortable and cozy like you've gone home to visit family for the weekend. The rich history of the founding of America is evident in all of the diverse treasures on display. Ziara at the front desk was absolutely fantastic. She greeted my coworkers and me with a gleaming smile and was incredibly pleasant and helpful in all of the questions that we asked including where to park and how to get around. We arrived late, so she mentioned that there is a complimentary glass of wine each night but that we had missed it, and then she offered us wine anyway. She is full of life and laughter and made us immediately feel welcome. HUGE shoutout to her! Each room was different from the others. Mine was a standard, and it had a very comfortable bed, dresser, desk setup. There was only one window, so not a lot of natural light, but it was comfortable and exactly what I needed. It had darkening shades too, so I was not awoken by light in the morning. My coworker ended up in an enormous suite that looked like a millionaire's home on MTV Cribs complete with jacuzzi tub, full kitchen, and fireplace. There are lots of different room options. I didn't try the restaurant, so I can't speak to that, but the included hot breakfast is a full buffet spread complete with eggs, breakfast meats, waffles, toast, yogurt & granola, fresh fruit, and more. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. Overall, the stay was great. I would definitely return.

Usually when I'm going away I do a ton of research on the place that I plan on staying at. This trip was more last minute and I needed a last minute hotel. I booked the Kendall. The hotel is right across from the T station - super convenient! I went to check in and the receptionist said, "oh! We were just discussing your room!" I got a little nervous (turns out I had nothing to worry about). She also mentioned when I complimented the decor, that it was a converted firehouse. As someone who loves history, this was very cool for me to discover. She also mentioned there is a free wine happy hour and cookies. Unfortunately, I never made it to that. The elevator does take a while, and it was easier and faster for me to take the stairs. I assume this is because it's an old building. My room was perfect! And very cute! My bed was SO comfortable! For the first time EVER, I had enough towels without having to ask for more. My robe was so comfy! I wanted to take it (I didn't). I loved everything about my room. Everything, except, the lack of outlets. With the exception of the bathroom, there were no extra outlets anywhere. I ended up reaching behind and unplugging a lamp to be able to charge my phone. I thought being next to the elevator was going to be too loud, but actually, I heard no one during the night. Slept so well! Breakfast was also delicious. A hot breakfast with everything. They also had two VERY large jars of candy, which the kids went after. Check out was seamless. Loved everything about my stay. Can't wait to come back!

Location: Right in the heart of Harvard Square. Historic, walkable, and surrounded by great restaurants, cafés, and shops. I loved the academic library feel with books lining the walls. Check in was a breeze and the staff were genuinely thoughtful. They walked us through all the FHR benefits and even handed us a welcome gift bag with treats. Such a nice touch. Room: A little smaller than expected, but very clean and charming with that collegiate Cambridge aesthetic. The view overlooking Harvard square was beautiful on a cloudy fall day. And the bed? One of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept on. Slept like a rock both nights. Overall this was very much a 5 star stay. Beautiful property, amazing location, and top tier service. I'd absolutely stay here again next time I'm in the Cambridge area.

I'm just happy to have gotten to stay here. C booked it for our first night in Boston. I had no idea what to expect, or where in the world we were staying, but was pleasantly surprised by the digs when we got there. We do some unique traveling. Mainly in the way that we actually take trips. We leave town with only the first night stay booked and wing it from there. We do this for spontaneity, to always keep things fresh and new, and to avoid losing money in some cases because of flight delays or changed plans. This last trip was a nine day haul around the Northeast Coast. This one was great and I have lots to share, so buckle up! ;) Night one: Excellent check in. Easy valet experience as you can just leave your vehicle on the curb and they come get it later at some point. Martha Stewart's flunky designed the place, but don't hold that against them. It's quite comfy and cozy. I loved the room accommodations. The glass box overlooking the busy Cambridge City street is really cool. The windows even open so that you can get some fresh air in the room or even purge some "compromised" room air out if needed. I wanted to sleep with the window open but the city was too loud for me to endure while sleeping. Shower is nice but all of the bars are deceiving. I thought that we may have a multiple shower head experience, it was only a dual head junt.... All of the bars are just to let the things slide around. It's nice though. It's a bit quirky with only one ice machine in the basement and none on each floor. But down in the basement is a plethora of oddities and things to look at. There is a great conference room that you can rent and shit yourself in if you want. They have a good coffee maker down there too. No free breakfast. That's ok though. Come have a stay. You won't be left disappointed I believe. Staff were super courteous to us. We left something in the car after we valet, and they went and retrieved it for us with no gripes at all. Came and stay a while.... You will be pleased. '25 - 111/111

The shampoo, conditioner and lotions were (I think) Gilchrest and Soames -- if I have the wrong brand, know they were high quality and smelled wonderful. I did not eat at the restaurant while I was there, but colleagues of mine did and had positive things to say. I did avail myself of Door Dash a few times; very smooth ordering, as the hotel has a system set up for drop off and pick up. Was there this past winter during a particularly cold time and puh-lenty of snow; the front of the hotel was cleared and safe. A few suggestions: 1. If you can get a corner room, I HIGHLY recommend it for the light and openness. 2. The elevator is quite small -- I did fine, even with quite a large suitcase; just be aware for how many bags you bring or if you are a bit claustrophobic. 3. When I was there this past February, some construction was being done on the hotel. I was on the 5th floor and I heard nothing; the lobby, however, could be pretty noisy during the day. Again, not a reason not to stay -- and the hotel communicated well about the hours of the work. But if you plan to meet people there (for work or fun), you may wish to call in advance about the status of the construction. That aside, I definitely plan to make this my go-to hotel when I return to Boston.

If you're needing to be in Cambridge, near the universities or even Fenway, then this is a solid option. I arrived around 11pm and check-in was fast and friendly to my one night stay. Unfortunately, the Paperback Tavern had already closed and there's a lack of food options nearby. My room, a king with river view was quiet, other than what sounded like a neighbor bouncing a ball in the morning. Street noise was not an issue at all. The room was clean and everything worked as it should. I ate breakfast at the Paperback Tavern. As a Hyatt Globalist it was free but was rather simple and included eggs, choice of meat, roasted potatoes, and choice of bread and coffee or juice. The food tasted good and came out relatively quick. Checkout was easy and my bill was accurate. Prior to checkout I used the complimentary shuttle, which drops off at 4 nearby areas. I came to Boston for a work trip, and honestly, they cut corners in ways that surprised me. I've stayed at the Hyatt House before, which is only a 2-3-star property (also paid for by my employer), and they consistently offered more basic supplies. Here, I had one single bar of soap for almost two weeks. There are no microwaves in the rooms. Anytime I ordered food or had something delivered, the person couldn't bring it up--which I get for security reasons--but it became inconvenient to have to go downstairs every single time. They only offer shuttle service to the Cambridge area, which isn't really helpful. Expanding it to other nearby spots would make it a much better perk. The price swings were probably the biggest shock. Some nights were over $700, while others dropped to around $150. I understand supply and demand, but that kind of fluctuation is extreme. And for nearly $6,000 spent in less than two weeks, you'd think breakfast would be included. Instead, it's an additional charge. Covering breakfast for the entire stay wouldn't even cost them more than $250. The views are beautiful and the rooms are very clean, but there are definitely areas where the experience could be improved.
