Kendall Pointe Animal Hospital Veterinarians, nurses and entire staff are all a 1,000 (on a scale of 1 to 10)! I can't begin to explain, without becoming emotional, what Kendall Pointe Animal Hospital the Vet's, nurses, the front desk reception, and the entire staff mean to us and our precious MistyMoon. We brought MistyMoon home Oct 30, 2022. On Nov 26, 2022 MistyMoon became very ill vomiting and non stop diarrhea. We called VCA Knowles Snapper Creek, MVS Sunset & 86 Ave, and VEG ER S. Dixie & 119. They all had a 4 to 5 hour wait and recommended we go to Kendall Pointe Animal Hospital. I am so grateful they were too busy and referred us to Kendall Pointe!! Suffice it to say that we can not thank Dr. Del Monte, Dr. Gallardo, Dr. Monroe, both Dr.'s Garcia, Dr. Carballo Capote, and Dr. Quiles for the exceptional professional care they provided to our MistyMoon each and every time we take her in for either a routine visit or an urgent emergency visit. Especially on the two occasions the emergency turned into multiple over-night stays. Leaving her was very difficult but we knew she was in very capable and loving hands. Was it expensive? Yes. Was it worth it? Yes. When one adds a pet to one's family, medical care should and cannot be based on the cost. It should be based on providing a member of your family the best care available to ensure the most positive results for your pet. Our deepest heartfelt Thank you to all the doctor's mentioned above. Overpriced. Waiting rooms are tiny. Staff used to be a bit better, now there's like one decent employee left. I was charged over $3,000 for and ultrasound and bloodwork, received a concerning diagnostic and have asked between 4 separate follow ups, for the results to be sent to me so that I can take next steps in seeking treatment options. I have received nothing -- the staff continuously ignores emails and it is nothing but empty promises on the phone that it "will be sent". I brought my dog in for a visit due to skin allergies, and this was one of the most disappointing veterinary experiences I've ever had. Despite having only one patient ahead of us who was being discharged, the entire visit took 2.5 hours. We spent two full hours just waiting in the exam room before the doctor finally came in. When the vet arrived, they asked only a few basic questions and quickly recommended two injections, a culture, and antibiotics--adding up to a bill of over $700. The pricing felt excessive for the amount of time and care actually provided. I declined half of the recommended treatments and chose only the bare minimum because the costs simply didn't match the service. Between the long wait, minimal communication, and extremely high charges, I will not be returning to this establishment. My dog deserves better, and so do other pet owners. read more

Absolutely clueless about emotional connection with patients. I took my dog to Kendall Pointe Animal hospital for biting a toad. Yes she was disoriented, but so were my other two dogs from biting the toad as well. Only one was foaming from mouth so I decided to take her to emergency. Again, like all the reviews here.... They handed me a document like a car dealership and told me basically I had to pay 1,500 dollars for my dog to be treated without a diagnosis. Basically the emergency charge.....I wasn't sure how I was gonna pay , so I started applying for care credit and heard a lady from the back asking the front desk lady if "Sage's" owner payed already..... meaning if I didn't pay they were not gonna start treatment. That just made me feel like the clinic does not care about animals and just want money. I payed for it because my dog was already there and I didn't want anything to go wrong with her. When your pet is sick ..owners are vulnerable and usually pay whatever to save them ! But I feel that my dog was fine I ended up paying 2,200 for my dog to be supervised 1/2 a day. It is so sad that veterinarians are so heartless. What makes it worse is that I have been going to the Miller clinic for years!!!! Dr. Gallardo, delivered 12 husky puppies from my Husky years ago and he seemed so kind and down to earth. But I guess money changes people. I was told over the phone the consultation would cost $95 and was urged to come in immediately. In a state of panic, I rushed over, hoping for help, compassion, and clarity. Upon arrival, I was handed a stack of documents and asked to sign them immediately -- while emotionally overwhelmed and deeply concerned for Max's life. I did sign them, believing I was authorizing the $95 consult and ANY necessary, further medical treatment and humane care! What I actually signed was consent to a $1,400 charge for diagnostics alone -- no treatment, no medication, not even a simple painkiller or anti-nausea shot to comfort my dog. Just blood work and X-rays, the latter of which were ultimately inaccurate or inconclusive. Let me be clear: I paid $1,400 for absolutely nothing that benefited my dog. No clarity. No comfort. No cure. Just emotional devastation and a financial gut punch for services that any ethical clinic would have explained transparently, line by line, especially to someone clearly in distress. Very expensive, the wait is ridiculous and will not do anything to make things easier for you. The wait is minimum an hour, but I have had to wait two hours by the time I get there to the time the doctor finally comes in the room. One time had to wait outside 5 hours and the excuse was "we are short staffed". This is a very stressful place if you're there with a sick animal. I am taking my animals to another doctor who doesn't overbook appointments to make me wait 1-2 hours every time I'm taking my animals to a vet visit. Our new vet clinic keeps the appointment time, the wait being maximum 15 minutes, plus they are cognizant of people's budget and the doctor does not schedule unnecessary tests. I will never go to this place again, nor do I recommend them to anyone. read more

Their compassion and dedication made such a difference and I am so grateful for the gentle and attentive approach to her care. Updating my review two years later. Tonight I rushed in with my 8 month old puppy in a complete panic. Yair took him back immediately and both he and Dr. Suarez provided us updates every 15-20 minutes, which was so appreciated given our state of panic. Thank goodness everything turned out to be fine, but I feel compelled to stress how high the quality of care is that you get at this hospital. We had to euthanize our foster dog, Riley, here a few weeks ago, and they were just as compassionate and caring. I feel so lucky to have such an incredible hospital just a few minutes from my home. PS - do any of these people claiming this business "only cares about money" have any idea how stupid they sound? It's a BUSINESS. Do you have any idea what it costs, not only to purchase the imaging and diagnostic machines, but to fully staff this hospital 24/7?! Do you want a skilled and educated tech and doctor to treat your pet when you rush over in a state of desperation?! THEN, because the"window of time" had closed, it was too late to induce vomiting, and then they slipped me an estimate of $1200 to START conducting testing. When I refused, they demanded I sign a document stating "I" refused medical care. I was furious! I should have had THEM sign a letter for negligence and for putting our dog in that predicament rather than seeing him sooner or letting know they would be unable to see him within the "window of time." So I'm done with them. I felt our pet had been neglected for the sake of making more money off of us. Ended up going to Links of Love and there they immediate did the required testing and treatment for just over $300. We just had to buy a special diet for a few weeks. I am so disappointed in the service I received here. My dog was unfortunately very ill, and after spending over $9k in emergency vet services at this clinic, we made the difficult decision Friday, August 23rd, to put her down. As a memento, the clinic offered a keepsake of a pawprint and a lock of hair for a fee, of course. It's been over two months, and we have called the clinic weekly requesting an update on the keepsake, and NO ONE can provide an update. We are promised callbacks and updates with zero follow-through. I have resigned to accept that they lost or never did it. I would not recommend this facility. They are very expensive and lack basic customer service skills. The veterinarians and technicians are friendly, but a few of the recommended procedures seemed unnecessary (for example: $425 for a second opinion from a radiologist to review scans when the veterinarian on staff was able to identify the issue and provide a course of treatment), and I would recommend pet owners review the expected charges line by line, request an explanation and only pay for what's necessary upfront. read more

Excessively charged for an emergency, and couldn't diagnose my dog correctly. Took them over 5 hours to give me X-ray results on a night I was one of maybe 2 clients there. And again, couldn't diagnose my dog correctly. After 6 months I requested the medical records for my visit and they had to "request the doctor to finish his notes" to be able to send them to me. Mind you the visit was 6 months prior. The vet doesn't even know who I am or my pet. Don't take accountability for their actions. You ask for a supervisor and they're never available. Took them over 2 weeks for a call back which again lacked empathy, care, and professionalism. After sending them a grievance letter asking them for explanations for the misdiagnosis and miscommunication they cowardly hide behind their attorneys who replied to my letter with false accusations of "harassment" although every interaction made with their company was respectful and open to resolution. A friend recently visited with her pup and felt similarly. The doctors and staff were also very kind. In the late hours, I saw some scar my emergency visits. This is a long one but could potentially save your dog's life. I wasn't sure if to leave a public review about this here because I understand mistakes happen, however, I'd like to bring awareness and prevent this from happening to anyone else in the future. I brought my Pomeranian here 1/1/25 around 6am, she was crying in pain and had lost control of both her back legs. She was unable to walk and was dragging both back legs. Vet who saw us did a physical exam and immediately misdiagnosed her with a pinched nerve/neurological problem, gave her pain medication and urged us to see a neurologist, who we saw within the next hour. Right upon examination, the neurologist expressed concern for a vascular problem after checking both back legs and not finding a pulse. Blood pressure in the legs was also abnormal. She recommended to rule out vascular first with some labs (blood glucose & blood lactate). Labs came back abnormal and confirmed it was in-fact vascular and not neurological and we were immediately sent back to another emergency animal hospital, where it was confirmed my poor baby was likely suffering from an aortic thromboembolism, which is an extremely painful condition where a clot breaks loose through the aorta and travels to a distant site, such as the legs, cutting off oxygen supply hence why she lost control of both back legs. She was hospitalized and treated, but unfortunately passed away the next morning. Apparently, this condition is more common in cats and rare in dogs, which is probably why it was missed by Kendall Pointe Animal Hospital? Although the overnight vet (won't mention name out of respect) and staff tried to be helpful, I wish they would have dug a little deeper and kept this in their differential. Earlier detection would have saved us so much time and PREVENTED SO MUCH PAIN. read more

DO NOT GO TO THIS HOSPITAL! They don't care ! Unless you pay there ridiculous Bill! One Saturday afternoon our dog (Boston Terrier 10yrs old) all of a sudden had a seizure and we rushed to this hospital. Upon arriving they quickly took her in and BOOM before anything. They gave us the bill and it was a whooping 6K on the high end and low end 5K. We were so shocked and desperate due to the situation we started freaking out. We didn't have the money and accepted defeated by sharing that information with the doctor ( Samuel Vasallo Suarez). I'll never forget he placed his hands on my partner shoulders said "no shame in that" & gave us this false hope that he know where we are coming from having "No Money" so We went over the list and asked them to explain certain procedures why certain things are being charged and it didn't make sense to us. We decided to call a Vet Tech who we know & the doctor whole demeanor changed & so did his attitude after negotiating price to save our dog! and we were able to drop the bill to $500. We took her home but unfortunately she kept on with the seizures , I tried calling back the hospital to see what we can do since they sent us home with pills, Unfortunately due to "finical struggle" and we needed to "figure it out" in order for them to continue treating her to see "what's wrong" with her. The worst animal hospital. They will commit malpractice against your pet then lie to your face when you confront them. My cat had developed a uti and urinary obstruction and needed emergency medical help. I dropped off my cat at 3pm and called back at 9pm to find out what his status was only to find out he had still been sitting in the crate I brought him in despite the critical status he was in. When I said I was going to pick him up to take him somewhere else the rudest and most disrespectful old women on the phone told me he had been sedated and hung up on me. How exactly is this behavior from the establishment i'm entrusting with the life of my pet acceptable? How am I as a pet owner supposed to feel like my pets getting the highest quality of care when they can't even extend the slightest bit of empathy towards me. I had a different animal hospital call on my behalf and discover Kendall Pointe had lied to me and my cat was not sedated and the doctor had not worked on him. I rushed over to remove him immediately. The receptionist and Dr.Garrado (Doctor/Owner) himself would confirm that my cat had not received any medical attention or even at the very least been set up in a kennel from when I dropped him off at 3pm til I called for the first time at 9pm. Dr.Garrado would continue to make up excuses and avoid taking any accountability by repeatedly saying "do what you need to do." I've had multiple different people call me from Kendall Pointe since then with excuses and lies trying to save themselves. A woman named Fanny/Franny even going as far as calling and lying saying that a doctor performed a check up on my cat prior to 9pm deciding that while a male feline urinary obstruction is an emergency, my cat was not a priority at that time. When I asked for proof of this so called doctor performing a check up on him she couldn't come up with any consistent answer for why there was no paper trace of this. I know for a fact she's lying because the singular notice on the doctors note says that no diagnostic tests were performed prior to the other animal hospital calling them saying I was removing my pet. Kendall Pointe is now constantly calling asking about how my cats doing despite not even knowing his name when I dropped him off. They only start to pretend to care when you start bringing their negligence to light. Had I not called to check up on my kitty 6 hours later how long would they have left him sitting in that crate suffering? How long would they have waited til they decided he was an emergency? I would never bring my or anyone I knows pet here again. Not a single person in this establishment deserves to work with animals ever again. read more

This has to be the worst pet hospital that I have ever taken any of my pets to. as soon as we got her in, they started doing some random testing of her urine and some blood work, but they did not check for hydration. My dog was bleeding when she urinated and the bloodwork showed that her blood cells were high. They discharged her with some antibiotic and some anti-inflammatory. She obviously should have been admitted and IV fluids should've been administered.. My dog passed away during the night she was only four years old. see my dog for a about an hour and a half and to do a urine test they charge you seven dollars per can of food. On July 2nd, 2023, Dr. Gallardo saw my yorkshire terrier due for an infected paw from physical trauma - After holding the yorkshire for 5 hours - It was made clear that the Dr. Gallardo immediately decided to move forward most expensive "treatment path": cancer & tumor screenings. In the 5 hours held, no bloodwork was conducted; no fever screening - Just straight sedation and x-rays. Till this day, after contacting the office via phone 4 times and via email twice - I have not received a copy of the the vet visit summary, with itemized breakdown - I haven't received no summary at all; nor copies of the radiograph done. To add salt to the wound, the staff covered my dog's infected paw with a cast (yes, full leg-length cast) which my dog's primary vet confirmed actually just accelerated the dog's infection and caused it to be worse. My dog's health has since improved after being placed on antibiotics by his primary vet doctor - What the dog needed after all. At this time, I recommend finding a wonderful primary vet like Alejo Clinic, OR, visiting another emergency hospital in the area on Sundays. read more

I've taken my pets here many times because it is close to my house. This place only cares about money and not your pets. For EVEEY visit they always request an X-RAY no matter the circumstances. The doctors are experienced but act like they've never diagnosed a pet before. For my dog, he had apparently eaten some weed (I didn't know that was in the yard) and when I took him in, they requested X-rays and several exams. After all the exams were paid for the doctor states, "now that it's all clear, I'm pretty sure it's actually weed intoxication." So they gave him an eye drop to throw up and he after all did throw up weed. They knew from the beginning it was that but did many unnecessary exams. I came back a few weeks later for my dog yelping in pain when he poops, asked for them to express his glands and they yet again said X-ray was needed. They said he was constipated and could be on my way. I asked for stool softeners and anal expression was told no. He kept crying the next day so I took him back. They said they needed another X-ray FOR NO REASON and THEN checked his glands. Turns out his glands needed severe expressing. Couple days later he's still crying to which they say oh he needs another X-ray. I haven't taken him back since. TWO DAYS AGO MY CAT DIED BECAUSE THEY REFUSED TO SEE HER FOR AN EMERGENCY EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE AN EMERGENCY HOSPITAL. Worst place to take your pet. They'll squeeze every cent out of you. read more

Mal diagnosticada( insuficiencia cardiaca congestiva) con un XR negativo, le indicaron furosemida sin justificacion sabiendo el daño renal que pudiera causar. I have spent 10 days worried sick about my dog. He has been going here since we went for an emergency visit, figured i should also do the follow up with the same facility. I took my dog to his regular vet and was told that most of the medicines and procedures that were done to him weren't necessary. He has been on 9 different medication over the last 10 days. Long story short, it was all useless with the exception of a stronger antibiotic. I was told so many other much more aggressive things, that would cut my dog's life short. This place scares you into doing things so that they can charge you. I was told that if it was the ears that he needed to see their specialist and they gave me an estimate of over $3000.00. That he would need surgery, no other option, and that would leave him deaf. After speaking to his primary vet, this was all nonsense. Yes, he may need surgery and there is always risks associated with that, but it's is very uncommon that he would have been left deaf. There are also other things that we can do before we jump to worst case scenario, surgery. All they do is scare you so that you put out more money. Please chose another emergency vet. The last 10 days have been a true testament to the fear mongering that they are doing with people and their pets. I wouldn't have given any stars, but the staff (not the doctor's) was really great and kind. They were attentive and treated my dog like he was one of theirs. The lab techs were also kind. Came here at 12 AM for an emergency. Our pet was taken in immediately. Scary situation but they cared for him well. The only bad thing was that they are not good at updating. We were there for hours with our pet in the back without them telling us how he was- even if he was in the same condition as before they should come out quickly and just say he's stable. Brought my diabetic cat in on Christmas as an emergency for low blood sugar because it was the only place open at that time that was close to my house. We left her for an overnight hospitalization as they recommended. We dropped her off and she was walking but when we picked went to pick her up the next day she couldn't walk or hold her weight at all. The doctor didn't have an explanation and just told me that she must have hurt her spine before coming in, even though the X-ray they took didn't show any back injury. Somehow left with my cat sicker than when we brought her in and with a $$$ bill too. read more

Unethical. Money orientated. I have the misfortune to bring my sick cat there. He was lethargic and in pain, after 2 days without eating. I never got a diagnosis per se (although I was charged $48 for the "intervention" of "Dr". Ana). Inmediately a full package of test of around $1000 was offered, that was downgraded to a O2 chamber session, antibiotics and hydration injection, and a medicine to "raise appetite" all to the tune 0f $210. After that, I was let go without further indications. I'm devastated to add that My beloved Dexter died in pain 8 hours after. I think that some careers should be pursued not to make money, but personal satisfaction. Veterinaries are the top of all: To take care of our defenseless pets.
