The reason I am giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because the conversations surrounding finances and euthanasia felt extremely overwhelming emotionally. Within a short period of time, euthanasia was suggested multiple times due to the severity of his condition and the cost of hospitalization. While I understand they needed to be honest about the risks, as a pet owner in panic and financial distress, it felt very difficult and emotionally intense without many alternative options being discussed. That being said, I still want to recognize the quality of the medical care and the speed with which they treated my dog. Unfortunately, our last visit required them to diagnose and refer us to another emergency facility with specialists. This facility on Southern Blvd in Royal PALm Beach was a Nightmare. They were only concerned with the almighty dollar. We ended up having to put our dog to sleep but we're not allowed the privacy to say our goodbyes. They didn't remove the cone on his head so we couldn't give our last hugs and there was staff walking around the room invading our last time with our little one. Horrific experience. read more

First of all the concept of how they work is completely compatible with the emotional content of both the animals & their pet parents to stay together while the pet is being assessed & treated. I used to work in several animal hospitals and started as a veterinary receptionist & this environment was so much calmer for both the animals & pet parents in the way they compassionately run their practice. I was immediately impressed w/ Alyssa the receptionist who met me outside and helped me with the carrying bag for my kitten. Dr. Lauren Krone is the wonderful ER veterinarian & she is absolutely purrfect!! Dr. Lauren was so warm & gentle & she fully explained every step & option with me & even helped me call my pet insurance company to figure out the financials. My Dad came with me and the staff even put up with my Dad's bad Dad jokes lol. The thing that also impressed me is that I didn't even have to ask anyone to wear a mask for me, Dr. Lauren said "would you like me to wear one" and I said "that would be so appreciated" & she had everyone within close proximity to me & my furbaby wear a medical mask. I'm severely immunocompromised & this gesture means the world to me and everyone who wears a respirator mask for health reasons. I also want to compliment Jim the vet tech who was very gentle with my fur baby as was everyone. Jim & Dr. Lauren both went over the medications with me & I felt very at ease even though I was of course worried about my fur baby. I have worked in several animal hospitals in NY & none were as nice as this; and this staff were so kind & genuinely friendly & I could see they were all genuinely working as a team. This staff had both people skills & technical knowledge to gently help the animals and that is what every pet parent wants to see. I also had to call the next night & ask a question & Dr. Lauren helped put me at ease and gave me the information to understand what to be aware of. I genuinely love this staff & this concept of doing ER veterinary care because this is how it should be always. I would give it a 10 out of 10 stars & Dr. Lauren Krone I would give an 11 because she was genuinely purrfect leading the team which is not easy and her energy is everything you would want in a medical doctor. The only thing that can make the building itself even better is if they installed UL certified Far UVC Light 222nanometers to help clean the indoor air quality to stop transmission of any & ALL airborne viruses. I believe clean IAQ should be mandatory in all essential services and public indoor buildings & spaces. I know many healthcare facilities do use UVC light to clean the Operating rooms and to sterilize instruments but the filtered Far UVC light 222nm is safe for continuous use for both humans & animals & can make a significant difference in keeping both the animals & the humans safe from transmitting any airborne pathogens. I sincerely hope the CEO of the organization considers installing clean IAQ w/ UL certified Far UVC light 222nm at all practice locations. The experience was overall the most easy & reassuring & comforting experience I have had in a Veterinary ER in a very long time. This staff is very lucky to work together with such great personalities because it absolutely makes a major difference. A ++. Our dog was by no means the sickest dog there today, but he was an anxious wreck. We were there for his second bad interaction with a dog that led to him being hurt, and the first time (not in Florida) ruined his vet experiences moving forward to the point we now give him premeds for the vet. When he was bit today, we didn't remember the premeds and just rushed him in, and he was whining the second he realized where he was. Immediately, Dr Lauren offered a painkiller injection saying he must be in pain. Very fair, but he wasn't as worried about the pain as he was anxious, and we didn't want to work him up too much with a shot out the gate. So, while Dr Lauren went to treat a more severe patient, Alex came by and noticed how worked up he was. She asked if being in the lobby (away from dogs that were crying from severe injuries) would be better, and we said yes. Alex tried to take vitals, sat on the floor with him, bribed him with water, gave an Oscar winning performance serving him approximately 300 invisible treats, and our pup loved her SO much he jumped on her shoulders to give her a hug and kiss her face. Not joking. Dr Lauren came back and assessed his bite, agreed that having a positive vet experience was more beneficial than doing too much that might make him more worked up (much appreciated), gave us meds to give him at home (which he immediately scarfed down with some peanut butter, which made him very happy). Plenty of vets can lead you wrong, but they have our trust forever now!! Oh, and David was so hospitable and really wanted us to enjoy ourselves, which was incredibly kind. We brought our terrier, Oliver to this office today, 9/2. We were greeted and taken care of immediately. We have a vet that we do our regular maintenance and minor concerns but we felt with our 12+ rescue terrier, the problem warranted different attention. We would highly recommend this office to anyone that has a real concern for their dog. They were professional, concise, caring and thorough. Today was the worst day of my life. My cat Callie, who I have had for 2 months, died. I know 2 months may not seem like a long time, but my god, this cat was my everything. I thought she was pregnant, and noticed last week that she became more lethargic and less hungry. Google told me that was normal, but my gut knew it wasn't. I watched for a few days, but noticed today that she would not eat, was walking funny and the bones on her back and hip were so prominent. I knew I needed to take her to the vet but I am a broke because I just moved. I called this ER like a shot in the dark, and explained everything from my cat's situation to the financial strain I was in. I spoke with Dr. Brannon. Dr. Brannon told me to come in and we will worry about the rest later. I had zero wait, from start to finish. Brought my cat back immediately and did an ultra sound. They immediately gave her pain meds as they noticed she was hurting, just so she was suffering. I will spare you the depressing details, but the options were euthanasia, or an intense surgery that may not even work. I chose to give my girl peace. As I was sobbing, Dr. Brandon came in and said they were comping the bill for me. On the hardest day I have ever had, the stress of paying for an expensive euthanasia was making it worse. And they chose to take that burden off of me. They let me sit with her the entire time. Up until her last breath. Dr. Brannon was so gentle, the whole time. You could see that this was the hardest part of his job. He explained everything to me in a way that made sense, and was so incredibly good to my girl. I hope I never have to come back to an ER, but if I do, I will be coming here because of Dr. Brannon and his gentleness throughout the whole thing. A few months ago, my dog ingested 40,000 mg of ibuprofen. This is over three times the lethal amount for a dog her size and 40 times the amount that would cause G.I. damage, my dog typically weighs 50 pounds but dropped down to only 36 pounds when this incident happened now a few months later she's up to 47 pounds! thanks to VEG my dog is now only experiencing very mild kidney damage and on track to making a full recovery! I only found out that she ingested this medication a few days after the fact, as she was being Pet sit by somebody and I was not aware, I went into VEG 3 days after the initial ingestion they worked with my financial limitations and we're very patient and understanding they explain things very in depth and truly do care about the dogs they see I have never experienced such a positive environment when taking my dog to a vet they demonstrate amazing sympathy and I cannot recommend this place enough! But bringing your pet here for a true emergency is a waste of money. I hit charged basically $450 for an x-ray to tell me what I already figured at home. Then they refer you to another hospital for orthopedic care. At your other hospital you will have to pay for x-ray again plus all the same fees charged at this location. So save your money and go to a real pet ER that will not need to refer you anywhere else and you will not be paying twice for the same diagnostic exams. Even if your pet has minor issues sabe your money and go to your vet office. This is not a pet ER it's more like an urgent care. Wouldn't recommend at all. read more

I will sing the praises of this amazing group of people every time I can. I've come here before and they always go the extra mile to make my pups feel as comfortable as possible, but they went ALL OUT tonight. I arrived at 3:30am with my dog, Brady, who was experiencing very intense vomiting. I called about 10 minutes ahead and when I arrived they brought him in immediately and already had a station set up for him. He was so nervous that he wouldn't get out from under the folding chair - Dr. Kearney literally GOT ON THE FLOOR and did the initial exam bent under the chair. Eddy, one of the vet techs, was awesome as well! I had just gotten back from a 14 hr drive from DC and was exhausted - he kept me company, talked me through everything, and the engagement helped me stay awake and made the time fly. They were so thorough, and alleviated any concerns, and my pup was already feeling better by the time I got home. Dr. Kearney also went through the costs in detail to make sure I understood them and all my options (thankfully I have pet insurance). She and Eddy even did parts of the exam and checkups in the waiting area because Brady was more comfortable there. I've always had a great experience with the team at VEG, and this location in particular, but they absolutely crushed my already high bar from past experiences. They really do everything they possibly can to make you and your best friend as comfortable as possible in an already exceptionally stressful time. My senior dog suddenly collapsed to the floor. Took him to VEG Boynton. They rushed him in and quickly diagnosed him as having internal bleeding from a mass on his spleen. The vet told me he didn't have long. I was traumatized. He's been my buddy for 15 years. While I lay next to him in tears, digesting this situation this woman Vet started pressuring me to sign forms for euthanasia. She stated something about covering her ass and not misdiagnosing a death. Hours went by and my dog fought and recovered. During that time, the vet kept coming to us pressuring euthanasia. My dog was not suffering, only weak. The next hour he was up eating and drinking and we chose to go home for home hospice and put the death clinic in our rear view mirror. Rocko is now at home and is living strong. We know he's nearing his final time but at least it will be on our terms instead on the terms of a loud veterinarian who only cares about covering her ass. Yes, this place can get pricey. What you're paying for is quality vet care 24/7. I had to bring my cat in around midnight for excessive vomiting. They ran an x-ray, ultra sound, blood test, and showed me all results. Everything originally looked okay, but I was told to come back and recheck in 12 hours. Thankfully I listened, and after what was found, they suggested an exploratory surgery. The entire staff was very supportive and generous, walking me through every step of the way and making sure that my pet and I were comfortable. Now my cat and I are back at home resting comfortably, and it's a big thank you to the VEG team. You are all amazing. read more

I had to take my little girl here last week because she had been sick to her stomach for a few days. The staff was incredibly caring and nice, towards all of the pets there and their owners. They ran bloodwork on my pup and found within 30 mins that she had pancreatitis. She was treated with fluids and anti-nausea, we were given meds to take and we were on our way with a reasonable vet bill that didn't cost an arm and a leg. When we arrived I went in to let them know he can't/wont walk and need a stretcher bc he's 98lbs and thick, he's a bully. Immediately Eddy came out like Superman and CARRIED him right in to see the doctor. After running test and was given medication (which was immediately which I appreciated a lot bc he was in a lot of stomach pain/discomfort to the point he was shaking) we were able to take him home. They were thorough, calming, reassuring, kind, affordable considering it's an ER vet, etc....They were spotless with a free coffee and snack station. They even refunded us $100 for a procedure the vet thought she'd need to do but ended up not needing to. Very impressed and highly recommended. I have used the EG for emergencies for our lab pit numerous times. The last time was for euthanasia. It was on a weekend and our regular vet was not available and I requested that we do it in the car so our Chloe wouldn't get upset going into the hospital part of the space. They deserve zero stars. They are horrible they do not care about animals at all in this facility. They are rude and disrespectful to the people that go in there. They rip you off with their high prices and they don't even know what they're doing. They don't give proper testing they don't do the proper procedures they're supposed to follow and then they second-guess themselves and let you know they don't know what's going on but they're going to charge you for this and this even though your animal most likely doesn't need it.
