They have started to use plastic containers which I am not a fan of, I prefer the white paper to go boxes. Some of our favorites are the Cream Cheese Wontons, Chicken Chow Mein, Egg Rolls, Pork Fried Rice, and Sweet & Sour Pork, just to name a few. The food is always prepared super quick and doesn't take long, usually with no wait if you call ahead to order or place an order online. They do offer eat in service with tables but we always get it to go, as do most people. If you have never ordered from them just give it a try, you won't be disappointed. read more

I stopped in after a mobile order for a cheap lunch takeout. I ordered the $4.25 Roast Pork Chow Mein and 6 Wantons for $4.50 if you notice on the menu there's a few $4 "chow mein" options. Unfortunately they don't specify that it will be dried crispy packaged "chow mein" NOT actual noodles The roast pork had a very weird smell to it and had zero flavor. However, the wantons were decent enough. The service was good and the mobile order worked very smoothly. I'll be trying this spot again but this was a bummer overall for me. We got: - Cream cheese wontons were fine, not the best I've ever had. - Sweet and sour shrimp was also fine although a little too much breading left some raw parts - Beef Lo mein was really bad. Unfortunately did not take pictures of the food, BUT, highly recommend take out from here. We had both the sesame chicken and the orange chicken with wontons. They send the chicken and the sauce in separate packages making sure it does not get soggy! Pro move!? We called and ordered, food was ready in 10 minutes. This is the best chow main place I have found in 30 years!! It's old school chowmain for sure reminds me of HOMs which has been gone forever! I we had egg roll which were delicious orang chicken. The mushroom chow mein was very good and we will order from here again based on this item alone. The pork egg foo young was good not great, next time I would skip the pork as it was just pieces of pork put on top of a standard carton of egg foo young vs cooked into it however that said it had good flavor. The chicken lo mein was tasty and would order it again as were the cream cheese wontons. The eggrolls were very salty and not much meat would likely skip them next time. By far some of the BEST Chinese food I've ever had! And this place has been here for 63 years. We had egg rolls, steamed potstickers, house lo mein, and chow mein (Cantonese style is best!). Ordered the house fried rice (excellent) sweet and sour chicken (breading was great, deep fried to a nice crisp), egg rolls and cream cheese wontons (both very good) and had to try the chow mein (not too shabby). Whenever I'm back in Crystal visiting my parents, I have to grab some Keng's. Since I can remember, this hole-in-the-wall Chinese restaurant has been a favorite local stop for take out. Favorites: Sesame Chicken, Cream Cheese Wontons, Chow Mein, Beef and Broccoli....basically anything on the menu is good! Pricing: So affordable!! And you always get more than enough food. I end up with leftovers every time. Although you can eat-in, Keng's has very limited seating, so I wouldn't recommend a group larger than 4 or 5 coming here. This place has been here forever. My dad used to eat it as a kid. Back then, he said the food was phenomenal. Somewhere along the line, that changed. I've eaten here a handful of times over the years in hopes that I would find what he used to find. No such luck. The chow mein I had tonight was bland, very flavorless. Not even really a salty/soy flavor. Previous orders of wontons have very little cream cheese to the amount of dough, butterflied shrimp are mostly breading. Not crazy about the fried rice. Everyone has their favorite Chinese restaurant and Kengs is mine. I dream about the food at Kengs. I grew up eating their and it is like a second home. Everything on their menu is unbelievable good. Kengs portions are huge and you will bring home leftovers if you eat in. This is a great place for takeout too, they are extremely fast and everything is hot and fresh. My favorites are their chicken chow mein and the cream cheese wong tons. I love their sweet and sour sauce that comes with the wong tons and on the Sweet and Sour Chicken it's divine. I have had sweet and sour sauce at other places and they don't hold a candle to Kengs. The prices are beyond reasonable/affordable. The place is small but if you want to eat in, the staff/service is great. I highly recommend Kengs to everyone! read more

This place had many old school Chinese joint attributes that attracted me: the old style Pepsi menu board, the limited seating and old style booths. That and the fact that my gal pal ate this as a kid, and said it used to be good, gave me hope for the food. Also some of the stellar reviews here made me check it out. We ordered egg rolls, fried rice, egg foo young, Kung Pao Chicken, and a chicken dish I forget. Everything was the same color, same flavor, and generally sub par. No thanks. Truly some of the worst Chinese food I have experienced, and I have eaten at Lui's Chow Mein in Golden Valley when it was still a thing! This is probably fine to eat if you are either 7 years old, or seventy years old, but if you have a taste for things that......taste like something, and that are prepared with care, look elsewhere. read more
