Paid almost $11 for a pulled pork sandwich that had no flavor and was filled with gristle. The bread was stale and the serving size looked like it was meant for a 5 year old. Terrible place. My buddy paid almost $18 for a brisket sandwich meal that had next to no meat. A literal waste of money. read more

Food isn't freshly made, the side's taste as if they were refrigerated and reheated sausage tasted tough as if it was heated in an oven the pork ribs were not good we ordered a rib plate and got one rib cut in half as two ribs? Come on. The brisket was dry, with a very unusual taste, no flavor at all, no smoke ring or smoke taste. We also ordered a brisket grilled cheese, and the guy pulled out a container of greasy meat. I'm guessing it was Brisket, I could tell it wasn't fresh. The time before weeks ago The Big Man chopped up fresh brisket and made the sandwiches now that was good. Overall, whoever cooks the food needs to practice food safety and handling . I'm not interested in going back. read more

Number one. They actually cut their meat on a carving board with a knife. A couple of other places down the road that I tried are using deli style meat slicers. I ordered turkey and it was super thin like lunch meat at the other places. Plus these guys pointed me towards some good fishing spots. I used to work at Walmart in the mornings and these guys would come in and buy brisket. I've had the brisket and a turkey and they are really good. For me I would like a little more salt maybe on the brisket but I can add that no problem. This is the best place I found in brazoria county. Eat there give it a try. Great food great people spicy Mac brisket ribs and beans all good would definitely recommend

I live in the area & have frequentled Kenjo's many times over many year, always a large order $60-$80 each time. The only reason I keep going back is the nice gentleman slicing the meat who's been there forever. The rest of the front staff is dismal & that's putting it mildly. Yesterday (January 12th about 2pm) I went & wasn't even done placing my meat order the young woman behind the counter was already barking at me about what sides I wanted & the woman at the check out asking me what I ordered to pay. I was the only person there, so there was no line to worry about. Then this rude young woman asked me again what sides I wanted when I finally had it & told her she should already know since she just asked me 30 seconds ago. She continued to have an attitude about the sauce next. My husband & I like a lot of sauce, what we got on our 3 meat plates was a tiny cup of sauce which wouldn't even cover a couple of pieces of meat & when I asked for the third time (she ignored me the first two times) she again snipped at me telling me extra sauce was 75 cents a cup. I also ordered a pound of sausage, to which no sauce was added, I had to pay $3 extra for it too. Because of the attitude of this young woman & the confused cashier they ruined my day I have to really think hard about going back to Kenjo's again. It's not the fact that extra is charged for extra sauce, it's the way she acted about it & the sauce given should be in accordance with the size of order, not just a tiny cup whether it's a $5 sandwich or a $20 thtee meat plate. This woman is a typical example of today's young work force with an attitude towards the ones who really support the establishment not being able to discern the difference between a regular well paying customer or the many freeloaders who only visit Kenjo's when there is free food to be had on holidays & I'm sure plenty of sauce is wasted on them. The food is great, the gentleman slicing the meat is great, but the rest of the front staff makes me never want to go back because I don't appreciate being treated like dirt under someone's shoe by some young snippedy woman when I'm paying good money. read more

Restaurant is rundown, smells like cleaning supplies but feels and looks yucky. Food was cold, very cold. Drink fountain was not clean. Staff wasn't friendly. Wouldn't recommend and will not be returning. read more

Went with mixed expectations, however I left full and satisfied. The chicken was very moist, and the Live Oak smoke was tasted in every bite, just as the brisket, again excellent flavor, however the brisket wasn't moist, or dry, but spot on in the flavor department. The potato salad was moist mustard based and ok, I was blown away with the bread pudding WOW was it good! JMO! So good! Had pulled pork sandwich, green beans, and Mac & cheese. Mac & cheese had a little kick to it, and was amazing! Pulled pork was moist and flavorful. BBQ sauce was perfect complement. Tried the brisket and jalapeño sausage - absolutely delicious. No weird tastes that you get with some place's BBQ. I cannot recommend their food enough. August 19, 2021 my daughter and I popped into Kenjos to grab some birthday dinner for us and my dad. There is no way Kenjo could have known we just buried my precious sweet mom and how our family was hurting. The staff was so friendly and he gave me a "birthday twinkie" which was a brisket stuffed jalapeño! My dad enjoyed the food but most of all the fact that he went above and beyond to make me smile. The barbecue was great the place is always immaculately clean but it's a little bit pricey for what you get. The meat portions are essentially adequate but the side dishes are under sized. The banana pudding was very good but it came out in a dish about the size of a bottle cap. Delicious moist brisket, chicken is equally amazing and pork loin was great. The turkey was a little dry but had a nice flavor paired with their BBQ sauce that I can't get enough of. Their potato salad is traditionally flavored mustard salad which is just OK and their beans never taste the same. Sometimes they are so spicy my kids get hurt from the heat...so parents..taste them first. We all Iove the banana pudding but find the cakes to be super dry. Alas this is a BBQ joint and the BBQ is top rate. As far as the rest, the staff s always nice and the place is very clean. This Hurts to say because I am jealous of Kenjo on two fronts. I really wanted to dislike his BBQ but after eating there I can't, It was damn good! Now I have to Hate on him because his car is faster and he BBQs, better than be too. If you read my other reviews I am honest to a fault and rarely find things great at restaurants but this one is exceptional, super clean, people were way too nice and the BBQ superb. Give it a try if in Brazoria or even take a little trip it's worth it! PS.
