3 stars honestly for the seasoned, crunchy fries and decent service. They were really nice and accommodating and VERY fast! However, the lunch catfish and shrimp was mid. I had two shrimps that were pretty yummy, fresh tasting, and well seasoned. The rest was lacking major flavor sadly. The batter was nice, just needed some more dusting of adventurous seasonings lol. Fries were good! Even hush puppies didn't have that slightly crunchy texture to balance the soft cornbread on the inside /: The churros were below mid sadly. No cinnamon sugar and it was chocolate Hershey sauce instead of cajeta sauce like stated on the menu (caramel) If I was starving, I'd comfortably eat it but I was saving my seafood craving for here and can't say it hit the mark. Where do I begin, oh jimmy joes the restaurant you are. The food proportions can feed a family of 7 with just 2 regular plates. I ate till I was full and looked down and my plate had not changed. This is a busy place at lunch! We were seated quickly and our server was right there. I had the lunch size fried shrimp with tots and there were a TON of tots! The slaw that came with was the best I've had in a while. My husband had shrimp tacos that came with rice and beans. I took my dad here for lunch, at his request (he frequents the restaurant) and it was such an awesome experience I had to do a review!! The service was great, our waitress Jadyn was attentive, polite and helpful. The other wait staff also checked on us when they passed by!! My dad had the lunch fish and shrimp basket and I the lunch shrimp basket. The meal automatically comes with corn bread muffins and yummy seasoned garlic butter! Solid chain just outside of Freeport with friendly, helpful service. It's definitely not a "mom & pop" but their fried seafood baskets are a lot of food, and offer a good deal on the M-F lunch special. $14 for a fresh shrimp and catfish basket with tots. Their gulf oysters (raw on the half shell) were also solid. Briny enough and fresh tasting. Not bad for a half dozen at $11. read more

Terrible experience, I can't say enough bad things about my experience here. the waitress got our order wrong 3 times(it was a simple order). The bar made drinks left a lot to be desired and were sour. the manager is extremely unprofessional . Once we finally got our food right and got done being chastized by the manager the food was okay. I hope they release the current manager from her role and really buckle down on getting orders right(this isn't the first time) this place would be amazing. Great service! The drink sodas we ordered were a bit sour and watery but the other ones we ordered were great! (The lemonade was my personal favorite though). The food was also great especially the macho burger! We got our food and drinks extremely fast and probably took us about 25 minutes to get our drink, appetizers, and main course. My wife and I had a solid meal here with friends. Nothing will blow you out of the water, but no reason not to have a decent meal. We both had chicken and thought the food was plenty flavorful. Service was fast and attentive, and the prices were decent. It's a little noisy in there, but that's to be expected because of the style restaurant it is. This spot fits squarely in my four star rating -- five stars means I will run to eat there any chance I get, three stars means I would never go back, and four stars means I would go back but it won't be a must go back to place -- but I definitely would not avoid having lunch or dinner there again with friends. read more

Very loud. But then, it's apparently a popular place. Very sports bar type place but nice and bright and decently family-friendly. My son had the mac n cheese. He LOVED them. I had some and agree with him. Really good mac. My wife and I both had the pick 2, she had grilled crawfish and grilled shrimp. I had fried shrimp and blackened catfish. Everything but the crawfish was really very good. The crawfish was just a bit dry and tasteless catfish was moist and tasty. Both our shrimp were big and juicy. Service was spot on. No delays and the waitress was friendly and attentive. Food came promptly. Only complaint is the Old Fashioned we ordered. It was very light on the whiskey. But otherwise tasted good. read more

You could drive to Galveston and eat at Gaido's for these prices and get more food for your dollar. Don't get me wrong, I'm fine with spending money on a great meal. I love a good steakhouse. However, let's take what my wife ordered for example. JJ's Favorite Shrimp. For $20 she got 4 shrimp. That's a value of $5 per shrimp. Was the person drunk who put this menu together? First, I want to say that the server was super polite and attentive. She did a fantastic job. If she didn't know an answer, she went to ask. Now, the food. Unbelievably bland. The only flavor to the fish was the oil it was fried in. I that southern fried catfish was supposed to have flavor. The Tartar sauce was so strange that the server got worried. When she saw my face. She came back with cocktail (which tasted like something I can get at Kroger) and said she tried the Tartar sauce, and that it tasted like potato salad. I was like, so that's what that is? So strange. The only thing that was good were the jalapeño hush puppies. Also, why do we need another boil place? That's like opening up another Mexican restaurant down here. The menu is focused on the higher end products. Burgers look to be an after thought on the rather limited menu. And it's way far too over priced for what it is. And the music is so loud. I'm glad I went by myself, because I wouldn't have been able to have a conversation. The server and I were having problems talking. My overall opinion is that they're trying to cater to the elderly that still want to pretend that they eat spicy food. The only way I'm going back is after a complete overhaul of the recipes. Food was alright, nothing special. My husband ordered a burger and it was very plain, no seasoning. I had the coconut shrimp and it was alright, but it could have had more flavor. The service was quick enough, but seemed to be very unorganized. Lots of miscommunication seemed to happen between staff. We were seen by about 4 different servers throughout the night. No one faves is their name or introduced themselves as our waiter so we had no idea who our tip would go to. Edit to add: when it came time to pay, their POS system did not work with our prepaid cards. Complete inconvenience, and the waitress taking care of our check could not be bothered to stop talking with other customers and we were late for the next part of our evening. read more
