Last week I got all four of my wisdom teeth removed from the fine folks at Harbour Pointe Family Dentistry. Their waiting room was friendly and clean, had the required fish tank, magazines, and coffee maker. It all seemed very professional and my appointments never took long. It seemed before I could really enjoy my coffee I was being called. I cannot rave enough about the staff. They were super friendly. I swear it seemed like they were trying to make up for bad dentist visits everywhere with their incredibly chipper, engaging, and personable service. As for the whole removal procedure, I never felt a thing. They numbed and warmed my arm because I said sometimes it's hard for nurses to find my veins, but they had no problems. They ensured I was ok to move about after being put under and one assistant walked me out to my ride. Everything was so incredibly pleasant it was a bit surreal. I've even driven up from Renton when I lived there for a few years. I don't feel pressured to get treatments that I don't need, and they are respectful of the sensitive areas of my mouth. I have been seeing Dr Kristopher Johnson for several years. He is a caring thorough dentist. He makes sure that things are fine right. For instance, I had a crown that came in that was not quite the right color and he sent it back to make sure the color was right and made sure I got it back in time for a trip. He calls to be sure everything is good after most appointments. I have seen Vidian as my dental assistant who cleans my teeth most of the time. She is excellent and I've enjoyed getting to know her. The front dress staff whether it is Heather who greets and makes appointments or Kelly in billing are excellent, friendly and easy to work with. I have enjoyed getting a mini spa with a paraffin wax on my hands while being treated. I would recommend them. read more

My experience with Dr Johnson and his team was good at first. I had thousands of dollars in work that needed to be done and I because of my initial experience I decided they would do it. Throughout this process there were multiple root canals and crowns that needed to be done. On the first crown I got I had to keep temporary in for over a month because he broke it three times in a row trying to get it in my mouth. I brushed that off and decided that people make mistakes, so I gave them another shot; even brought in my father for additional business. After that we continued with fillings & another root canal. A short while after they did another crown and stuck me with close to a 1000$ bill some time later after reassuring me I was covered. Obviously I didn't feel obligated to pay it so from the time I reached out to their office to figure this out until Dr. Johnson decided to make me a priority and reach back out was a month to the day. End result, I have a 1000$ bill heading my way for a situation that could have been easily avoided or at the very least reconciled on their end. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Johnson and his amazing team for 10+ years. From a quick and easy cleaning, to root canal and fillings, the care is consistent and compassionate. As a patient that has a difficult time in the dentist chair, I appreciate all efforts to make the experience relaxing. During preventative services expect paraffin wax for your hands, a personal TV and headphones with volume control. These options definitely help with anxiety. During restorative services, expect a Dr. with patience and empathy. Reassuring words like "you are doing great" are very helpful when you struggle as much as I do. It is also comforting when you receive a follow up call from Dr. Johnson to check on how you are doing . I highly recommend Dr. Kris Johnson and his staff. Came to HPFD after not coming to a dentist for about 6.5 years and they have been great to work with. My gums were in pretty bad shape and I had 7 cavities that needed addressing. We setup a care plan that involved deep cleaning followed by cavity fillings and now are on the heal and restore gum health and my progress has been great. I am highly satisfied with my service and would recommend them highly to anyone in the area. They also have started working with my 2 and 6 year olds and both of them are happy anytime they get to go get there teeth cleaned. read more

Kris Johnson was referred to me by a co-worker. I went there, clean office, nice staff, Dr. Johnson was polite and seemed to do good work. Over time however, I realized that this dentist is all about "COSMETIC" improvements not my dental HEALTH and CARE. - Constantly trying to recommend exchanging all of my crowns for newer ones that were WHITER than my normal teeth so that I could get into a cycle of bleaching with him. I almost bought into it, I mean, who would not want a movie stars mouth, right? well, I do not make a movie stars paycheck for one. For two, I needed my teeth and mouth to remain healthy and this did not seem to be their priority there. - I had a root canal done on an upper left (Maybe #17?). When the crown came in (ooops!) It was not the same color as my teeth NOR as the one shade that we had decided on, so NOW I have one tooth that is real white. Well, 2 years later, I have a nasty infection over that tooth. The root canal FAILED and the new crown (Brightest White as the stars above) needed to be drilled thru to get a NEW root canal done, same spot as Dr. Johnson did? Really? When I went to move my records from this office, they wanted to charge me $75 to do so. I learned that was a correct practice so paid it. When my NEW dentist received a white PAPER COPY FROM A COPY MACHINE that had now been FAXED not mailed to their office? It was NOT even usable, they could not read it, at all. The tooth in the pictures were BLACK because of poor quality. When I called to meet with them about this they did say they were sorry however. tough luck charlie.
