Really nice place. Large kitchen area, smaller entry area where the counter and pastry case block access. We came in around lunch time on a Monday, they had some pastries but they didn't have a lot. The apple cinnamon roll (looked like a really a really large bear claw) was really good with a good portion of apples on the inside and lots of yummy cinnamon on the outside. The pastry was flaky and crisp on the outside and edges and soft and airy inside. We also go the last chocolate croissant, it was really big, drizzled in chocolate striping, and a good bit of chocolate on the inside. Really good and flaky. Staff was ok. Cordial, but helpful. Pastries were good enough I'd stop her again. read more

Fresh bread, pastries, fudge, and coffee to suit them all!! Like moves fairly quickly. Got the pistachio bread, almond cookies and a peach cream cheese danish per a recommendation from the semi local ladies out front! The peach danish was amazing! Not too sweet with succulent peaches!! This is truly one of Cloudcrofts treasures! The pastries are amazing and you'd be hard pressed to find anything like them in the big city, they are unique and artisan quality. Cute pastry shop. I think they had boba teas also. They offer a regular black coffee so don't go in expecting foo foo coffee. You can get that elsewhere. Homemade pies, breads, pastries, and kolaches fill the air with that yeasty fragrance. Yum! They are some beautiful pastries also! All of them were so large and it was so hard to choose just a few. We got some sausage, cheese, and green chili kolaches to start with. It would have been better if it had been just a tad bit warmer but it was delicious. It was probably one of our favorite kolaches from places we have been. We got a large almond cream cheese danish & it had almond pieces but not much almond flavor. Still delicious. We also got a peach and blackberry cream cheese danish. Delicious. The danish is flaky yet soft and the cream cheese is not overwhelmingly sweet. It is a perfect addition to your morning breakfast or afternoon treat. My favorite was the lemon cream cheese danish. The crisp parts and the flaky pastry really hit the spot and that sweet and slightly sour lemon mixed with cream cheese was just perfection. The young lady that helped us was very friendly and even offered us forks, knives, and napkins. This is definitely on our spot to stop again when passing through. Really great! read more

The young lady was extremely kind and knowledgeable about the shop and the local area. One person was looking for a Chai Tea Latte, which they did not have here but recommended two different shops that would suit their needs. Various pastries, teas, and fudge were around the inside. Although small, this bakery has plenty to offer. They have Kolaches, Cake Pops, and the BEST croissants I've ever tasted, they are flaky and buttery. You can also get a delicious Bubble Tea here, my favorite is the Taro with Yogurt bobas. They do serve REGULAR COFFEE, no fancy lattes, cappuccinos, etc. They do have a good selection of pastries that do rotate and change from week to week from what I've noticed. They also sell WHOLE LOAFS of delicious breads. You have got to try the Pistachio Bread! It is absolutely delicious! They do take special orders and requests for bdays, functions, etc. This bakery is the only bakery in town that is open early and closes late and is only closed on Sundays. They did a lovely job on my son's cake. I placed the order over the phone and gave very little instruction on what I wanted. There were no other details I told them besides a light blue background and construction theme and that he was turning 3. I was so surprised when I picked it up how perfect it was. Needless to say, he loved it. Our only fault was that we blindly got a number 3 candle. Lol Would recommend to anyone. The baked goods are also delicious. I had a cinnamon roll. read more

Sorry I don't have any photos of the bakery goods, But they were decent. My friend ordered a croissant that was light and flaky and would've been even better had they offered to warm it up. We also ordered some zucchini bread which was pretty much one note... Sugar. A little nutmeg may have helped elevate the flavor. We also ordered a poppyseed muffin. Again one note of sugar. If I were baking it I probably would've added some lemon zest to spice it up a bit. But overall it was OK. One more thing, no cream for the coffee. So we did without. What is coffee without cream except black. So if you're OK with black you're good to go. I just did without which was not very satisfying. read more

I think that her cookies are my favorite of everything there! I really love that she offers gluten-free items. She also has some nice breakfast sandwiches that have ham in them along with kolaches. The bakery has a lovely aroma and a large selection of baked goods. Hubs got the green chili bacon roll and I got the chocolate croissant. Both had nice flavors but both were a bit rich, overstuffed and slightly underbaked. The croissant was more bread-like than flaky. We haven't tried the cheddar bread yet. read more

Love this place! I've been in Cloudcroft for a week and already been to the bakery twice. It's full of freshly baked breads and all sorts of yummy creations. I've been stuck on their croissants. Almond, chocolate (a true chocolate lovers delight) and plain-all are so delicious I thought I was back in France. I've also sampled several of their cookies that were very good as well. Amazing! I love the bake goods here. This was my second time visiting the location. It's a must for me when we are staying in Cloudcroft. Be sure to go in the morning because come afternoon time they are almost all sold out. I failed to take pictures this time around and it's mainly because I have no patience, I want to eat what I purchased. Service is good, helpful if you need help. I stopped here on a whim after getting our lunch next door. Small bakery, but the pastry looked amazing. I fought hard not to buy the whole side of the case. I did get 2 peach and cream pastries and one cherry filled pastry, and I enjoyed them later in the weekend. The pastry's here are pretty good, it's a little high in price. My daughter did not like her cupcake said it was dry and she didn't like the icing however I thought it was good and my wife ate the rest of it. We drove up to Cloudcroft to see if we would ever like to rent a cabin here. It's about 2,000 feet higher than Ruidosa and might offer a little bit different scenery. While there, we decided to walk around the little town and see what it had to offer. Of course, while walking, someone in the group got hungry for a snack. We went into several bakeries and liked this one best. The young lady working the counter was very nice. She was in from California helping her Mother, who does all the baking. Even if the food had been below par, she would have made our choice a good one. Speaking of the food, it all looked fabulous. Selection was limited due to them having sold out of many options. I think that speaks about the quality of the food. What we purchased was really good. I will definitely return to try some of the other offerings:-) read more

Fantastic! Little shop in the mountains is Fantastic! They created this custom cake for my sons birthday. I requested the flavors and simply told them what kind of things my son liked and ta-da! I rewarded myself with one of Kennabelle's "kreations"after I hiked the Osha Trail last week. All of her baked goods looked decadent, but I was particularly attracted to her pastries. The cinnamon roll was flavorful, fluffy, and fresh. I'd rate her "kreations" five stars. However, as other reviewers have noted, she doesn't enforce mask wearing. While she wore a mask when I entered the bakery, she later had it below her nose. She had a family member or friend (an adult couple with an infant) in the bakery. The man wasn't wearing a mask and the woman had hers below her nose. The couple was also in the kitchen without masks. Kennabelle should be leading by example. Wearing a mask isn't a political statement, it's an IQ test. My understanding is that there's at least one other bakery in Cloudcroft... read more

Good heavens, delicious! The kolache was supposed to be for me -- I didn't know what they were, so wanted to find out. Sausage, jalapenos, warm pastry -- SO fantastic! I realized that the bacon jalapeno roll I'd gotten to share with co-workers was also warm, so I couldn't resist it! The strawberry cheese danish did make it to be shared -- and I was so sorry there wasn't enough for seconds. But I didn't tell anyone about the Pistachio bread I intended to savor as breakfast toast the next day. Nope, it's more like cake than bread -- couldn't put it in a toaster -- but what a super delicious dessert!!! Wow! Better than a cinnamon roll, believe it or not! This place is exactly what a bakery should be. I live in downtown Dallas and am hard pressed to find a good bakery so when I visited Cloudcroft I was delighted to find this little gem. The owner and her husband and staff are friendly and the wide selection of pastries are fresh, homemade, and absolutely gorgeous. The croissants are perfectly flaky on the outside and buttery soft on the inside. I enjoyed the almond croissant. This place is nearly perfect except that the second time I visited I ordered a croissant and it was more of a biscuit in texture. I'm no baker but my guess is that, since the owner was not in at the time, the teens that were working baked the the croissants before allowing them to proof? So a little quality control is needed. Otherwise this place is an absolute "must visit" when staying in Cloudcroft. read more

It's been over a month and there's been some change. 95% of the people in town and obeying the law. Not Kennabelle's. The baker does have a mask on her face, but nose sticking out. The cashier is still wearing the cute, open screen mesh belly dancer mask, not the legally required two layers of cloth covering both nose and mouth. Both are as good an not mask at all. I'm not without sympathy, anyone who works hard (and they do!) finds the mask annoying. But I'm also sympathetic with the dead and those with scared lungs and lost jobs. It's an excellent bakery and I came back for a second chance. But I'm not supporting a business that cares so little about my health and the health of my family. It's arrogant, it's selfish, it's illegal, and it's immoral. Shame on Kennabell's! read more

It s a 11 plus hour drive from Sahuarita AZ. to Kennebell"s bakery in Cloud Croft NM. and back for the love of bread. My friend and I purchased 30 loaves of bread and some cookies to snack on for the road trip home. The staff went out of their way to bake our order and so gracious to have it ready when we walked in.. My friends favorite is the Garlic cheese bread and mine the Sourdough. It's now one of our must do road trips for bread... Our friends thought we were crazy to do that drive... but after trying their bread they want to go....
