KennaBelle did an AMAZING job for both my wedding cake and the cupcakes for the guests. I needed to have the cake gluten free due to sensitivities I have. I have tried A LOT of gluten free products over the years and you could NOT tell it was gluten free. It was absolutely delicious...even my husband really enjoyed it! It was absolutely gorgeous and exactly what I asked for/pictured. Due to a delivery issue (nothing to do with KennaBelle), the decor for the cake didn't get delivered to her. So unfortunately she had to pivot at the last moment and went WAY above and beyond to make sure she obtained decorations that would make the cake look exactly like what I had requested. I actually think it turned out even better than what I had ordered! :) With the stress of the wedding, she has no idea just how grateful I was that she took the task of finding cake decor so I could focus on the wedding itself. I didn't get to try the cupcakes, but I was told by many that they were delicious! I am incredibly grateful to Kenna and all of the staff that helped make our wedding day so incredibly memorable!! I went in and bought a slice of pistachio bread and a loaf of cinnamon bread to try. We gobbled it all up it was so good, had to come back a couple days later to get more. Bought a loaf of green chili/cheese bread, a cherry pistachio cookie, and chocolate chip/pecan cookie this time. I don't think they make anything subpar here. All excellent! read more

Great coffee! Yummy pastries! We enjoyed our visit to Cloudcroft! We want to move there!

We breezed in about a half-hour before closing on an extremely busy day, so we were unsurprised that little selection remained. We opted to split a lime cupcake and had it bagged to eat after some further venturing about downtown Cloudcroft. It's important to note this circumstance, because I would have gone back and eaten/reviewed half the pastries in the shop or more had Kenabelle's still been open when I finished the cupcake. I like frosting, especially cream cheese frosting. I generally like it better than the cakes it's generally served on. This is the first and only time I have encountered a frosting/cake ratio that had me questioning whether there was too much frosting, but that's only because the cake was so completely amazing. The cake portion of the cupcake was an amazingly light and fluffy sponge that exploded with lime flavor and sweetness. The mountain of frosting was, in contrast, only lightly accented with lime, and richly decadent in its semi-sweet cream cheesiness. The whole creation was topped with a not-quite-candied lime slice which added the perfect, bright punch to the decadent frosting. We will be back to try more of Kennabelle's Kreations, even though it's a 4-plus hour drive to Cloudcroft. read more

I paid over $11, not including the $1 tip, for a small muffin, a brownie, and two regular coffees. The baked goods were very delicious but I find it annoying that there were no prices listed. This to me means that they either don't want you to run away after seeing the prices or they can charge anything they feel like on different days. It's not Starbucks and they might make more money if they had more affordable prices. read more

I visited the bakery on Saturday, August 11, 2018 after having cupcakes in Ruidoso earlier. They have a variety of flavors. I got 4 cupcakes for $11 and some change. The icing was really good on the strawberry, vanilla, and Italian cream. The cookies and cream was not very good. I buy cupcakes for the icing and don't like the cake, but the cake was pretty good and moist. I would definitely go back for more cupcakes. Next time I would like to try a cookie. The employee was very nice and patient with the couple before me and myself. read more

Walked in with my mom and nana asking for a wedding cake for my mom and soon to be stepdads wedding (they've been together 11 years, it's been a long time coming) and my mom mentioned that she wanted the cake to have a Dallas Cowboys color theme since they are huge Dallas Cowboys fans and it's a big part of their lives. As we were walking out we heard the owner say to one of the other employees something along the lines of "she wants a Dallas Cowboys themed wedding cake" and the other employee said "really?" and the owner said "yes" and they both laughed as we were walking out. I understand that it may not be traditional but it's not her cake. There is absolutely no reason to judge somebody for what they want for their wedding especially when they're willing to pay for it whether you agree or not. It was extremely rude and made my mom feel bad for asking for what she wanted. read more

The BEST Cream Cheese Danish!! I go to bakeries all over NM and I'm kinda hard to impress but MAN! Them danishes!!! There was a line when I got there and then the warm comradaree of strangers sharing a delicious morning moment! The coffee was real good too!! There's another small bakery with more reviews but it wasn't very inviting. No way to see what they had very well. Second time I went in that one and left. But this place is on my list now!! We got a chocolate croissant, a strawberry cream cheese-style pastry, and 2 cake pops for our kids. It's pretty evident that there is very good chocolate used in their croissants, very rich and plenty of it in there. The strawberry pastry was equally amazing. Both were huge, probably 2-3 reasonable servings for people who eat normal amounts of food. I ate the entire chocolate croissant and was stuffed. I would come again and again. read more

Incredible delicious fresh baked goods. The cinnamon raisin bread is one of our favorites! Always full of cinnamon sugar mixture and raisins. Cherry and apple pastries melted in our mouth and the fruit filling was delicious. Cookies are great too. The chocolate croissant is amazingly good. The problem is the lady in the cashier or i am not sure if she's the owner. She does not even smile or look at you or engage to anything. NOTHING. I've had just two pastries from Kennabelle's--a blueberry cheese danish and a blackberry one. I still dream about how delicious they were and can't wait to go get another one. They are huge, creamy, flaky, pillowy-soft--the works. It's great that it's in Cloudcroft, because it's a touch inconvenient for me to make a trip up there for just a pastry (because if I had access to them every day I'd be a lot fatter), but I'll be back for more. After our experience in 2019 at the Burro St. Bakery, we were happy this year to give Kennabell's a try. The reviews were mostly good, so we were hopeful. They didn't have much of a selection, but we did get a few things and ordered a birthday cake to be picked up on the next Sat. as we were leaving the area. The things we got to eat that we took with us were hard, dry and tasteless. Again, like the previous year, the trash got them. When we got home and opened the cake, it was simply beautiful. One of the prettiest we've ever seen. However, that's where the good stuff ended. The cake was ordered as a white cake with white frosting. The cake was not only yellow, it was dry and tasteless. It was like the main ingredient was sawdust, even though it wasn't. The frosting was tasteless also. Again, virtually all of it went in the trash. What a waste of ingredients, work and over $60 of my money. We will visit again in the area, but NEVER again to these two bakeries which don't seem to know or care about making things moist and sweet, like you would expect to find in a really good, well run bakery. read more

Owner needs to know that she definitely NEEDS to brush up on her "CUSTOMER SERVICE"!!! We thought it was just us, but noticed another reviewer noted her LACK of courtesy. Sure other customers have had the same treatment but do not want to bother doing a review since it will not change things. On ALL of our visits, the owner will NOT greet you as you enter, will NOT smile or offer assistance, will not engage with customers, nor will she thank you for patronizing her business. She could at least tell the customer that they could call her when they are ready for their selections. Instead, she stays in the back as if hoping we don't bother her. There are NO signs showing the price of each item. You do not want to ask the owner the price of each item for fear you might interrupt her baking. A simple toothpick inserted in each product with a small paper noting the price would be sufficient. NO receipt is given so that you have a price point for each item for future info. You are just given a final total so that any amount can be charged at will. Then the help "reminds" you at checkout, that there is an option for a "tip". Wow. . .really?. . .for the great service provided?? The owner should know that great Customer Service is very much needed if you want your business to survive. Customers can easily go to Lowes grocery which has better tasting pastries at a lower price. Workers there at least offer assistance, are pleasant, and smile as they tend to you.
