I came to slay & ding ding I was a winner. I won a little neon green pouch,hot sauce power bank, & 2 free drinks to redeem @ Mazzys. I was super stoked! Amber Guesa (the drag queen host) was hilarious & beautiful! I had such a gr8 time! I'll def be back here b/c my cousin leaves real close by! It's her go to place to unwind. The potato salad was clearly homemade and really tasty, and the vegetables--broccoli and two kinds of zucchini--tasted like they'd been fire-roasted. So good. Mom ordered the Balboa wedge, which was generously packed with meat, and the chicken cutlet wrap with lettuce and tomato--another fresh, flavorful, and generously portioned dish. This can get overwhelming on a night when there aren't a lot of students around. For a student, it can be a place to get congenially soused, talk, and play darts or pool with their friends on a packed Thursday night or they can feel like they are surrounded by random acquaintances they know in various ways that don't always mix, standing around and hardly able to make small talk because of the loud music. In other words, I find it extremely awkward unless I'm drunk and then ambiance no longer matters. Other remarks: Joe the bartender is well known and I am unsure whether he is a nice barroom psychologist or a manipulative bastard. The bar has begun to ID so there are mostly upperclassmen. The only negative that I really have to say about this spot is that there is really not a lot of parking, there is a very small lot that can fit about three cars right to the side of the bar,, we were able to pull up right in front because we came on a Wednesday night but if you come here on a weekend you may need to park a block away.
