Tray of freshly baked fruit kolaches
    Heather L.

Did you know that kolaches have 2/3 less sugar than donuts? I wholeheartedly recommend this quaint kolache bakery in South Arlington! The family who bought the business from Mr. Kenner in Feb 2025 is super kind, accommodating and generous. The fruit kolache dough is so pillowy, and they have lots of really delicious flavors of filling. The sausage kolaches are equally good. If you are looking for a local, family-owned bakery with yummy and unique breakfast pastries, this is IT! They can even do big orders for corporate/private events and church functions!

We lived in Waco, near West, Texas, for several years. That is the gold standard for kolaches. And West kolaches feel elusive... probably because of nostalgia, scarcity, distance, or a combination of the above. Kenner's kolaches are the best in DFW! They may not have as many flavors as bakeries in West but the options they have are top notch. And try the cinnamon roll for an added treat.

Pucker up...the lemon kolache today was pure perfection. The buttery taste of the bread, the sweet yet tart lemon filing, and the little sweetness on top made for a happy breakfast experience. I was finally able to score a ham and cheese kolache and it did not disappoint. My family fought over who got the last one and decided to split it 4 ways. I always love the jalapeño sausage and cheese. The owner is so sweet and you can tell she gets joy from making these amazing treats. We drive from Irving to get these amazing kolaches so if you are anywhere near Arlington, make sure to go visit.

This place is bomb, surprised with not many reviews, I have traveled all over the world, and to find a traditional Kolache place like this blew my mind that we have it right here in Arlington TX! We ordered the bacon cheese rolls, the bacon was crispy with all that chedder cheese it is super yummy! The cheese and aplricot kolache is very fresh and packed with flavors aspecially with a whole appricot in there not just gam! The cream cheese Kolache was to die for, sweet but melts in your mouth! They have all sorts if savory and sweets and sausages ones as well, I'll be back for sure thank you for being around all those years

It's in an old part of Arlington, the building itself fits right in with the area. That's not a bad thing, but don't expect some clean cut, smooth concreted parking lot with fancy equipment inside. They do well for being in an older part of town. Conchas, we enjoyed them! My favorite was whatever this strawberry roll cake was, soft & fluffy. They have a lot of options, I only wish they would label the pastries. There were some empanadas but we couldn't tell what was what & didn't want to be one of those people that cracked one open, because trust me, someone did on one of the trays. They have a refrigerated section, we'll probably try the flan next time too. The cakes are gorgeous, I can't comment on the taste... no need to get one for just the two of us. Prices are very good, yes, they take cash only. I saw someone said they take Zelle but I didn't look. I'm not mad about it though, it's a small business... they'd get charged for credit card usage. I don't know if everyone understands that & if cash only works for them & they continue to do well... I'll keep bringing cash! Very sweet employees! Go here, grab a snack to enjoy. Also, there's not really a place where you can sit & chat for hours with friends but give them a try for some yummy treats!

I like coming here to get the pineapple bread and chocolate rolls. Occasionally I'd try the other goodies, including their custom milk bun, garlic bread, egg tarts and chocolate pudding. All of them never disappoint, as they're always fresh and kept in appropriate temperatures. As an app member, I also get deals; I've claimed their free drinks before, and I think it's a great value especially when I enjoy grabbing a milk tea to accompany my pastries. The drinks are top tier too; I've tried their lattes, milk tea and specials. Staff has never made my drink wrong and I've gotten them at a reasonable time even if it's busy. I will say, since it's a bakery, obviously come early to have the freshest items. Also as the day goes on, they will stop restocking, so by the time it's 5PM, most of their items are gone. Be early and you'll have a great time!

Unfortunately, the cashier forgot to include my slice of Black Forest cake. Everything else was packed, but as you can see from the photo, the cake was missing. We called the bakery to see if we could pick up the cake at another location since we were already about 20 minutes away on the freeway when I opened the box and realized it wasn't there. We were told that wasn't an option. They did offer a refund, but because we paid in cash and were already so far away, that wasn't very convenient. Aside from that issue, everything else was good. I'm disappointed because the cake was the item I was looking forward to the most. I'll give the Carrollton location a try next time and hope for a better experience.

A Sweet Experience at Cake-aholics!…read more As a first-time customer at Cake-aholics, I honestly didn't know what to expect, but I'm so glad I stopped in! I tried several items, including the chocolate cake pop, red velvet cookie, red velvet cupcake, and chocolate Oreo cupcake, and everything was incredibly tasty. The desserts were rich, flavorful, and had such a satisfying texture. The chocolate cake pop was decadent without being overwhelming, and the red velvet cookie and cupcake had that perfect balance of sweetness and richness. The chocolate Oreo cupcake was definitely a standout for me--chocolatey, indulgent, and packed with flavor. You can tell there's attention to detail in the desserts. The atmosphere is one of the things that really makes Cake-aholics unique. The café is designed almost like a fancy, whimsical tea party, which gives it a fun and elegant feel. One of my favorite details was seeing the artificial four-tier cakes displayed throughout the café. They add a really cute, over-the-top bakery aesthetic and make the space feel very intentional and photo-friendly. It's the kind of place where you could easily meet a friend for dessert, have a cute afternoon tea-inspired outing, or stop by simply to enjoy the atmosphere while treating yourself. The service was also a highlight. As a new customer, I was greeted with great energy, which immediately made the experience feel welcoming. The service was fast and efficient, but still friendly. That first impression really matters, and the staff definitely made me feel comfortable rather than like just another customer. For a first visit, I was really impressed. Between the rich and delicious desserts, unique tea-party-inspired ambiance, and welcoming service, Cake-aholics made a great first impression. If you have a sweet tooth and enjoy a café that feels a little more whimsical and elevated, I'd definitely recommend giving them a try! Would absolutely come back to try more!

I've never had mazapan, but I liked the sweetness of the peanuts and powder sugar in the drink. The matcha had grassy notes, which I liked. It tasted like a sweet fresh peanut milk drink but not necessarily like peanut butter milk. You can get a regular or large sized drink. Dulce de leche concha was pretty and tasty. It seemed more milk bread-like since it was soft and fluffy. It reminded me of melon pan because the crust was soft and crumbly. There's a small amount of dulce de leche in the middle, which is okay since the top is very sweet and the dulce de leche is rich. Shio pan with cream cheese and everything bagel: similar to a Chinese baked bread (cut almost all the way) filled with whipped cream cheese. The bottom has a slight crust but not hard like a Korean salt bread, and it's topped with everything bagel seasoning (not too salty). Dubai choco strawberry cookie: moist and almost fudgy because of chocolate chunks, topped with fresh strawberry slices. There's a small center of pistachio cream but the usual crispy noodles were already broken and mixed in, so it's less satisfying to me. The chocolate cookie part was like a rich brownie. It stayed soft even refrigerated. The marranito (pig-shaped sweet cookie) was thick and broke like a soft cookie. It's like a gingerbread cookie with less spices. Even refrigerated, the cookie was pretty soft. I'm usually not too fond of this type of flavor, but I liked this version. Ham and cheese bun: fluffy baked Asian bread with thin slice of ham and cheese. Bacon egg and cheese milk bread resembles a thick Chinese bread bun with a bacon-wrapped thick tamagoyaki inside. The egg part looked like it was overcooked. Coffee bun is a soft and high plain bun covered with a thick layer of slightly bitter coffee powder. The bread items started getting drier after getting cut and refrigerated but softened once they were microwaved. There are clean trays and tongs for the baked goods. The line moves along the edges. The bakery had (2) baskets of large umbrellas since it was a long and slow line and blazing hot. The outside line takes up most of the small parking lot. There is some street parking along the 2-way road. I think the bakery was busier than normal due to it being the day after a BTS concert and social media. It took about 50 minutes to get inside, 20 minutes to get through the line, then 15 minutes to receive drinks. There are a few tables along the right side of the inside bakery and a few small tables outside. Even though it was very busy, the staff projected a friendly and competent image. There're clay heart-shaped plates to eat on and plastic forks for splitting pastries. The graphics on the murals, merch (shirts and aprons), big boxes, and cups were cute. The image on the plastic cups are easily scratched off.
