He narrated the entire procedure, so I knew exactly what he was doing with each instrument and in each part of the process. It was very reassuring. And he was very gentle. I am so happy that I don't have to look elsewhere for a dentist--and don't have to be afraid! (I'm not particularly afraid of dentists, but aren't we all a bit nervous about dental work?) Dr. Roybal and his staff were wonderful and even though it took a little longer than I would have liked to get my permanent veneer, they refused to settle for one that was less than perfectly matched to my other front tooth. Since then I have used them for all my dental needs. Yes, they have a very nice office and many of the comments suggest that cushions into your bill, but they also have a wonderful staff of hygienists and office managers that are some of the sweetest and most attentive I've encountered in any office. Most people are afraid of the dentist and obviously there is nothing fun about dental work, but Dr. Roybal and staff are always paying attention to make sure you suffer as little as possible if at all. Today I had my first root canal...no fun. But Sammy was by my side the entire time and was an absolute delight and made what had full potential to be the worst 3 hours I've had in a long time, completely relaxing. Dr. Roybal will be my dentist as long as I'm in Santa Fe and I hope he can keep those lovely ladies around too because each and every one of them has a special and caring touch that takes those dental jitters away.

When I booked my consultation I was told no charge for the appointment, now I have a bill which I have asked to have amended. He's just about the money. My recommendation seek another periodontist who acts with care about the feelings and well being of their patients. UPDATE: The office apparently has nobody in charge with customer service, I have written them 2 letters about my billing. I was billed for a consultation, that when I booked my appointment and asked them if there was a consultation fee the woman who answered said there was no charge. I paid for my x-rays and received a bill for the consultation after i requested it be removed. When I called the office to speak to the person in charge of billing I was told there was nobody who handled billing ! Really ?? That bill I also paid In exasperation with this issue. I now have been sent yet another bill for $16.58 which is apparently compounded interest. This I refuse to pay. It's absolutely ridiculous. Stay away from this horrible Dr. and the inept office which is so poorly managed.

My appointment to get a filling this morning was canceled by Dr. Martin's office with less than two…read morehours notice. I had made it clear at my introductory appointment back in May, that as a retired teacher, I only had six weeks of dental insurance left before my insurance ended.They booked me for June 10th (today). Now they have informed me that they can't see me until July! If I had canceled the appointment myself I would have been charged a fee of $75. The only thing Dr. Martin's office offered was to set me up with yet another dentist. That is not an option for me. My insurance won't cover me for another introductory appointment. I am really disappointed that this dental office won't make an effort to fit me into their schedule before the end of the month. They knew my situation and they obviously don't care that I won't be getting that new filling.

Thus, I drove in the high heat to the office for my appointment even though I am older and the heat makes me fatigued and ill. When I got there they tried to force dirty ionizing radiation old school dental X-rays upon me. I asked if they had the new radiation free DEXIS CARIVU technology and they did not, but they had said prior that they would not force me to get dirty ionizing radiation scans. But when I got to the office, I felt tricked. They said they wouldn't do the exam without forcing me to be exposed to the radiation cancer-causing scans. They tried claim the x-rays are low dose as ever as the industry has lied about for decades. However, there is no safe dose of ionizing radiation according to LNT, just look it up. IONIZING RADIATION IS A KNOWN CLASS 1 CARCINOGEN. The only safe dose is no dose. Everyone should be asking for the new dental technology and RADIATION-FREE DENTAL EXAMS! These dentists should not be forcing cancer-causing scans on their patients. The first rule of a healthcare provider should be to DO NO HARM. Especially for children.
