Dr. Christianson is top notch and I only wish my UHC plan had him on my current plan :( When I worked for the State I had Delta Dental and started going here from several coworkers recommending him. He was honest and gave me a valuable money-saving second opinion for crowns that another dentist said I absolutely had to have! I miss the good vibes in their office and have since recommended him to others fortunate enough to have him on their plan! read more

Dr Christensen is a very good dentist- one of the best I have had. I have been coming to him for over 2 years and had several mercury fillings changed out for "white" ones. Also a crown which he made in his office. It is actually the best crown I have ever had as far as looks and feel. Update 6-20: just had the last of my mercury fillings out. So I can confidently say, after having 11 fillings changed out and one in-office crown, this dentist rocks! Some of the reasons: 1. All of the work is VERY natural feeling- just like my real teeth. 2. All of my visits have been virtually pain-free. read more

Professional, quality, and friendly service. I highly recommend the services provided at Smile Santa Fe Dentistry. I have been to multiple dentists in Santa Fe and Smile Santa Fe by far has exceeded my expectations. Dr. Christensen does great work, they do not settle for less than the best. The entire staff is warm and friendly. They worked with me paying for a major dental restoration. It's been a long time since I felt so good about my Smile. I had a dental emergency and found dr Christensen by googling. I was in 45 minutes after my call and out in 50 minutes. Everything went great, he explained everything he was going to do, showed me pictures, replaced the missing quarter of my molar, replaced my mercury filling, I never felt thing and was back on my vacation. He sent info to my dentist at home, insurance worked. Hygienist was very friendly and staff efficient. If dr Christensen wasn't a thousand miles from my home, he would be my dentist! read more

Really unhappy with my experience here. Had no pain upon going in, had a tooth filled with supposed bad decay, although it never hurt. Was in the dentist chair for 2 hours which was in itself awful, and now three weeks later I have a continual throbbing toothache in a tooth which previously had no pain. Called the Dr. to express my upset and concern and his reply was, "it probably needs a root canal or an extraction". Not only was this awful patient care, but clearly was terrible dental work as my filling has turned into an extraction! I've had a great deal of dental work done over the years and NEVER have I had pain like this, this many weeks later. read more

WORST DENTAL EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE: I went to Dr. Nylund at Santa Fe Family Dentistry with minor…read moresensitivity on one tooth and a small chip on another. I had no significant pain. What followed was an eight-week ordeal of constant pain, multiple failed procedures, and complete administrative chaos. Dr. Nylund performed a crown and a filling. Both had to be redone entirely by other dentists. The crown was ill-fitting, had a gap, and ultimately caused a severe infection and swelling, which led to a two-part root canal. A prosthodontist and an endodontist later confirmed that the crown was improperly fitted. See dental notes in photo. The temporary crown fell out twice. They said, "Oh this happens." It doesn't have to. I went to Dr. Balderamos here in SF who is amazing to have it redone. His temp crown stayed on for 4 weeks and I could eat anything on that side. The permanent crown fell out as well. When I returned in extreme pain and told them the crown did not fit and that I was in tremendous pain, they shoved it back on, shaved it down, and sent me on my way. The pain continued and worsened. The left side of my face swelled like a balloon and had to have emergency appts. Over the course of this situation, I had to attend 13 dental appointments: most of them just trying to fix what should never have happened. To make matters worse, dealing with the office staff was a complete NIGHTMARE. Santa Fe Family Dentistry told me I would receive a refund and that the insurance claim would be reversed so the new provider could bill correctly. It took over two months, with weekly calls and sometimes multiple calls per week, sometimes 2-3 times a day, to get this resolved. I had to chase them constantly just to get them to do what they promised. Ultimately, someone from Delta Dental had to call their office twice to actually get it resolved. Despite all of this, I am still out nearly $3,000, not to mention the enormous amount of pain, stress, lost time, and emotional toll this caused. I walked into this office with a minor issue. I walked out with weeks of pain, a root canal, multiple specialists, and the worst dental experience of my life. I would never recommend Dr. Nylund or Santa Fe Family Dentistry to anyone.

Everyone seems nice and they were kind and understanding that I'm a dental chicken. lol I was a little irritated that they did not. Let me know that when you sign up for an appointment on the website it's only for x-rays. It does not include a cleaning. If it was me, I would fix that.

The hygienist was great but the dentists and staff were the worst! The front desk staff knew nothing at all about dentistry. They had no clue as to dental issues. The only good thing there is Erik the hygienist! great guy, certainly not Sharon the evil secretary neither Christensen, he looks he is more worried about his vacations than his patients.
