She seems a bit worried about the whitening going too far. We go through the treatment and afterward Im handed a bag that does not have whitening trays in it. I ask Dr. Detrik where they are. He says "Oh, you really dont need them, your teeth are already white. I had them include a light that you can use instead but honestly you dont really need to." I say nope, I want trays, isnt that what you did the whole high-tech super accurate mapping of my mouth for? Isnt that what I actually came here for, and what I actually paid for? Not this light that I could have bought on Amazon for $20?" So they ORDER my trays. Mind you, I had just paid them to put goop on my teeth to open the surface of my teeth chemically to allow the HOME tray treatment to work better. You are supposed to have the treatment then follow up with whitening trays the following two weeks because THAT is when the whitening happens. At home, with the trays. The trays he didnt order at the time I paid for this treatment because he was very clear in his mind that I do not actually NEED the 3k treatment he talked me into doing. And the trays? He let me know from the gitgo, that if I felt further adjustments were needed, he would fit me into his schedule somehow...asap. My new bridges are superb. They work as they should rather than trying to exactly replicate my mouth...which was distorted a few ways in that ancient accident. I can feel the difference, positive changes happening, day by day.

WORST DENTAL EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE: I went to Dr. Nylund at Santa Fe Family Dentistry with minor…read moresensitivity on one tooth and a small chip on another. I had no significant pain. What followed was an eight-week ordeal of constant pain, multiple failed procedures, and complete administrative chaos. Dr. Nylund performed a crown and a filling. Both had to be redone entirely by other dentists. The crown was ill-fitting, had a gap, and ultimately caused a severe infection and swelling, which led to a two-part root canal. A prosthodontist and an endodontist later confirmed that the crown was improperly fitted. See dental notes in photo. The temporary crown fell out twice. They said, "Oh this happens." It doesn't have to. I went to Dr. Balderamos here in SF who is amazing to have it redone. His temp crown stayed on for 4 weeks and I could eat anything on that side. The permanent crown fell out as well. When I returned in extreme pain and told them the crown did not fit and that I was in tremendous pain, they shoved it back on, shaved it down, and sent me on my way. The pain continued and worsened. The left side of my face swelled like a balloon and had to have emergency appts. Over the course of this situation, I had to attend 13 dental appointments: most of them just trying to fix what should never have happened. To make matters worse, dealing with the office staff was a complete NIGHTMARE. Santa Fe Family Dentistry told me I would receive a refund and that the insurance claim would be reversed so the new provider could bill correctly. It took over two months, with weekly calls and sometimes multiple calls per week, sometimes 2-3 times a day, to get this resolved. I had to chase them constantly just to get them to do what they promised. Ultimately, someone from Delta Dental had to call their office twice to actually get it resolved. Despite all of this, I am still out nearly $3,000, not to mention the enormous amount of pain, stress, lost time, and emotional toll this caused. I walked into this office with a minor issue. I walked out with weeks of pain, a root canal, multiple specialists, and the worst dental experience of my life. I would never recommend Dr. Nylund or Santa Fe Family Dentistry to anyone.
