Compassionate, cares about each patient and superbly skilled surgeon. I wish every doctor took this kind of care!

I was a patient of this dentist twice. Unfortunately, each time disastrous outcome ensued…read more Once, I was in **tremendous** pain for weeks, after his root canal. It turned out, as a good dentist told me, that he created a false/fake root, the cause of the pain, which destroyed the tooth pretty quickly. I lost the tooth a couple of months after this guy's "treatment". Interestingly enough, when I constantly complained about this debacle he insisted on paying 1/2 of the hefty fee he's charging! What an outrage! Keep clear of that dentist!

My first experience had been fairly frightening and I'd been hesitant about following up with the re-treatment for that tooth. Dr Kahn was very thorough and articulate in explaining what the procedure would entail. He was also able to explain what had gone wrong with the first procedure performed by the other doctor. The office staff was very efficient in the scheduling process and Carmella was exceptionally helpful in regards to my questions about insurance coverage. The actual root canal, while not pleasant, was pain free and over in an hour. I did have trouble initially in getting an appointment but I understand now that was likely a result of the answering service/undelivered message. I'm glad that I followed up and was able to get in for a consultation. I would highly recommend Dr. Kahn to those in need of a root canal or other endodontic treatment.

From the X-rays and care from Carlie, hygienist visit and dentist visit were awesome and caring. We have a plan and are on our way to getting all fixed up. Don't go there! This company should be investigated for malpractice and fraudulent billing…read more They will charge you for treatments you didn't know. The first times I went there, they made me pay co-pays. Then, consulting my health plan, I confirmed that I have 2 cleanings and 1 consultation totally covered, including co-pays, every year. The next times, they tried again to make me pay co-pays. I thought they were just incompetent and didn't know how to check health plans. When they understood I would not be fooled, they came up with another strategy. When my daughter went there for her cleaning, they did a "deep cleaning" on her without consulting me. It is not covered by our insurance. They also made me pay that immediately, which was embarrassing because I didn't have more than $100 on me and had to call my husband to send me the rest. I will never understand why a 15-year-old girl who never had a cavity needed a deep cleaning. Then, some time after that, it was my time to get my cleaning, and the guy told me I had to pay a $100+ because mine had to be a deep cleaning as well (which I never needed before). I canceled the appointment and sought another dentist. This month, I received a bill from them and discovered that my previous cleaning there was the so-called "deep cleaning," which they never told me about. I never had the need for a deep cleaning before, and my new dentist never said anything about me needing a deep cleaning, so it was a rip-off from aspen dental. They also wanted to put braces on me, but no dentist before or after that told me I needed braces (my teeth are very straight). They never clean your teeth on the first visit. It has to be on a separate appointment. They will steal your money any way they can.

I was referred to him by my dentist and will never let him touch me. His not the only periodontist in town. During my consultation he made me feel hopeless, helpless, overwhelmed and extremely anxious. I have had another consultation and was treated with respect and compassion. When I booked my consultation I was told no charge for the appointment, now I have a bill which I have asked to have amended. He's just about the money. My recommendation seek another periodontist who acts with care about the feelings and well being of their patients. UPDATE: The office apparently has nobody in charge with customer service, I have written them 2 letters about my billing. I was billed for a consultation, that when I booked my appointment and asked them if there was a consultation fee the woman who answered said there was no charge. I paid for my x-rays and received a bill for the consultation after i requested it be removed. When I called the office to speak to the person in charge of billing I was told there was nobody who handled billing ! Really ?? That bill I also paid In exasperation with this issue. I now have been sent yet another bill for $16.58 which is apparently compounded interest. This I refuse to pay. It's absolutely ridiculous. Stay away from this horrible Dr. and the inept office which is so poorly managed.

The work Dr. Melton has done is far and away the best of anyone I have ever interacted with - dentally. The tangible results speak for themselves. He knows what he's doing and focuses on that. He tells me what I need to hear in order to properly take care of my mouth. This, matters more than anything else. And yes, I do find him agreeable and easy to interact with. Cogent and logical; unconcerned with appearances or needing to seek any validation. I'm sorry I have so many gum issues; I am grateful Dr. Melton attended to them. Best of fortune...
