Both of our services were $50 each before tip, and I got a regular pedicure, not a gel pedicure; a gel pedicure would have been $75. When you walk into a salon--especially one in such a competitive industry--you should feel appreciated as a customer, not as though the business is doing you a favor by allowing you to be there. Today, when I went to pay, he informed me that I had supposedly been undercharged during my previous visit and added approximately $15-$20 to my bill. I was honestly taken aback. I explained that I paid exactly what I was asked to pay at my last appointment. If the salon made an error when calculating my bill, how is that the customer's fault? He was very rude and dismissive about the entire situation and never even clearly explained what I had supposedly been undercharged for. I paid the additional amount without arguing and left, but the whole interaction left a very bad taste in my mouth. For a business, absorbing a $15-$20 mistake made by its own staff would have been a small price to pay compared with making a longtime customer feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. This is especially disappointing considering that the cost of my services has nearly doubled over the past two years. I have continued coming because I value Anna and the beautiful work she does, but after today's experience, I am genuinely reconsidering whether I want to return. You simply should not treat loyal customers this way. If it weren't for Anna, I would not step foot in this salon again.
