I've been coming here for years and travel out of state just for this salon, specifically for their manager Emily. She is incredible! She's so organized and friendly and the reason for the salons success in my opinion. She's one of those people so skilled at their craft you would follow them to any salon. I can't get over how bad my haircut is. And how they get away with charging people $50 for a basic cut while the stylist had no concept of simple things like how to feather some bangs or layering hair without taking off too much length. The only positive note, the staff was friendly, environment was comfortable and well-kept. But yeah, unfortunately I left very sad and have been more self-conscious than ever. It pains me to leave such a negative review. But holly, screw the small-talk (you're really good at that,) and just focus on cutting hair. You need practice. I wasn't asking for anything complicated. The Main Point: I've gone to Lena (head stylist) for a few haircuts - her style is hit or miss, and when she misses, she misses big. My Story: I have always had long hair, and I scheduled a cut with her in March 2015. Her apprentice, Roxy, made a scheduling error with my appointment, and Lena was expecting me 15 minute earlier. When I came in, Lena was livid and enraged about her time being wasted. She was rude and yelling. I explained the miscommunication, and she gritted her teeth to smile and said "don't worry, I'll still give you a great haircut." Kind of in a Disney movie villain voice. I should have trusted my gut and left. However, I sat down in the chair, and Lena continued to berate me. I asked her to just cut 3 inches off, and she cut off 7 inches of length. I looked like a 9 year old with the hair shoulder length, and in a complete straight line (vs an artistic U-shape or attractive cut). She made the entire hair 1 layer instead of adding layers to reduce the weight. Lastly but not least, she cut the length of the hair at an angle - so the hair on the right side of the head was 1.5 inches longer than the hair on the left side of the head. Professional Evaluation of Lena's Work: I get my hair professionally styled every weekend, so I have since gone to ~5-7 stylists since Lena's cut (since I travel often). I always ask for each stylist's perspective on the cut, and consensus is that this was a disastrous cut that Lena gave. It has too much weight at the bottom, there are no layers, and the bottom is cut at a slant (1.5 inch difference). My primary hairstylist said it would take a year to fix the damage Lena caused and that a "repair haircut" was needed to fix all of the problems she created. Recommendation for Potential Customers: I would not recommend Lena if you're looking for a reliably good haircut, and if you value having nice hair - because she always does whatever she wants and with a nasty attitude. read more

Well if it was possible to give no stars at all I would. I paid over 300 for my hair to be done and got the worst work possible done to my hair. Leidi was my stylist. I hated it when she was done with it and by her co works and her face I knew they didn't like it either. I have it a few days then reached out to her asking her to fix it and sent her picture of how bad she left me and she refused to take responsibility. She said she will have to charge me full price again to fix her own work. Don't get mislead by the pictures. They don't post the people they do wrong. I've never had a problem with my hair lifting before. It's wrong to do people this way and not take responsibility. Not to mention that I specifically asked for highlights. I didn't want the dirty root nor the balayage. I told her this a few times before we even started. This salon is completely over rated. The people that work there seem to think they work at a high end salon in LA or something but it's not...we are in Walled Lake, MI. I have been to this salon a few times to get my hair cut, at that time there were rumors or adding a 'blow bar', pinky up! Needless to say the woman that cut my hair botched it so badly, its took almost an entire year for my hair to grow back to normal. I went here to get a simple bob cut and when I got home I noticed on the right side of my head there was an entire chunk of my hair missing. I asked a few diffrent people if they noticed it and they all said yes and started laughing. A few months later I went to another salon and was told there was really nothing she could do until my hair grew back a little more. She did her best to blend my hair so it was less noticeable. Overall, I think the woman who cut my hair is more of a colorist then anything else. She is a very sweet woman and I know it was just an accident but I will never go back. read more

I am very cautious with my highlights as my hair breaks easily but the stylist who happened to be the owner understood my needs and She carefully listen to my concerns and address them all! Maybe it was the stylist I had, but this is probably the worst haircut I have ever received. Have to go to another salon, but very doubtful that my hair can be fixed, because it was chopped off too short in a lot of places. It was also thinned out so much at the bottom that I will probably have to get the entire bottom "layer" cut off.
