I don't normally leave reviews, but when I do, I make sure it's worth the effort.. This restaurant popped up on my nearby while hunting for a new place to get a decent meal. Kenny's Cafe is not fancy and by no means a fine dining establishment, but if you're into a clean restaurant with staff that takes care of their customers. Then perhaps this is a great place to try. I've worked in a restaurant for nearly half my life and I can honestly tell that it takes quite the effort to uphold a level of cleanliness and consistency especially given the fact that they've been there for over 30 years. I had their salt and pepper pork, well portioned, crispy batter, decently priced with all the right fixings and flavors.. I was not disappointed. I've also tried their prime rib which is a special every other Friday of the week and for $30, you get two sides and a soup. I was impressed with what they served and everything was cooked to standard. (Which is hard to find nowadays) Too clean and well kept to be a hole in the wall but with mountains on one side and the ocean in a tucked cove on the other, Pacifica is definitely worth the trip. read more

Kenny's Cafe is a good Chinese American restaurant. They serve both Chinese and American food. The entrance is inconspicuous with the sun faded signage. My tri-tip steak was rough. But for $19, I can't complain. The chef cooked it perfectly and seared it with a good amount of crust. The mashed potatoes were bland and watery. The corn was the canned type with a mild sweet taste. Came once before for their Prime Rib, which is decently good beef. I didn't like their mashed potatoes though. I live in SF so I called today to confirm whether they have Prime Rib and was told yes. Arrived 1/2 hr. later and was told that they were sold out. Almost walked out in anger but I figured I'm here so I'll try something else. Ordered the turkey which was actually quite good. Tender sliced breast with a lite gravy along with fresh broccoli and canned cranberry jell. Came with choice of soup and had the clam chowder which also was good being not overly creamy. Wow what a hidden little gem in Pacifica. Tucked away is this little restaurant that serves a well executed Chinese American restaurant. The Chinese food is spot on. Freshly cooked and tasty . On every other Friday they offer prime rib. What ?? Sure let's try it again tonight to see if last time it was lucky. But guess what the food was prepared well. I cannot complain. Soup clam chowder was delicious, I had to share. The dish came with starch and vegetables. This time was white rice , note to self ask for plain rice . Because they serve with gravy on top. Stopped by this place while visiting pacific and it was a little hidden gem! The service was amazing and friendly! The food was food and they were big portions as well. The hot and sour soup was on point and overall every meal was delicious. The ambiance was local Chinese diner with great staff. The reason for 4 stars and not 5 was small cocktail shrimp was used for the fried rice instead of the regular shrimp which changes the flavor profile and not as tasty as using the regular shrimp. I'm usually picky about Chinese food; grew up next door to the owners of an amazing restaurant in Dublin, CA and haven't found anything that measured up since. Kenny's comes close! My husband and I ordered the Family Meal for Two, which came with a choice of soup, egg rolls, fried rice, and one entrée per person. Overall, it was a good value and a satisfying meal. We chose the wonton soup, and it was a highlight. It was served hot with a generous amount of wontons and great flavor. The egg rolls weren't super crispy, but they still tasted good, especially when dipped in the sweet and sour sauce. The fried rice was okay, not the most flavorful we've had, but it worked well as a side. For our entrées, we chose Mongolian beef and sweet and sour pork. I personally preferred the Mongolian beef. It makes me happy hearing that they come on their own time because it means that they're getting the recognition that they deserve. I ordered party trays for my baby shower in November from this restaurant. The staff here is so friendly, and took time to go over the menu with me and provided very nice suggestions. I couldn't have asked for anything better to take the stress out of food catering. This is a wonderful small business in the heart of Pacifica and I hope to come back to them to cater my next party. Upon exiting the car in the parking lot, there is plenty of parking, I could smell the deliciousness in the air. We were greeted and seated promptly upon entering and all of the staff we encountered were friendly and smiling. The restaurant itself is no frills and that is just the way I like it. It is often a sign that the food is good. We ordered fried won tons, won ton soup, generals chicken, fried rice and chow mein. Everything was absolutely delicious! The won ton soup was perfect. I told my husband that the next time I am sick, I am going to send him here to get some soup for me. Good flavors and what you would expect from a family Chinese restaurant. The fried rice was soaked in a dark sauce, which is a first for me! My hubbys chicken dish was noticeably larger than my shrimp dish which is to be expected since seafood is more expensive. Taste was not bad but the rice was my least favorite. Everything came out nice and hot. We didn't have to wait long for the food. The eggplant was cooked perfectly, not over done. I'm not really a fan of fried tofu, but it was pretty good. Wings were solid. My grandpa orders them every visit. It's a very simple, no frills Chinese restaurant that fits the old small town atmosphere of Pacifica. We stopped here on our way out of town. I wasn't expecting much for a small town Chinese restaurant but I was mistaken. They treated our kids so well. Absolutely doted on them. So attentive. Brought extra napkins and plastic and paper utensils and plates for our toddler. The food was so fresh and delicious. We had both friend and non fried foods. The fried food tasted clean and crisp. No dirty oil flavor we've had other places. Perfectly cooked, big pieces of meat in the bredding. Really good soup. Lots of veggies and meat. You can tell it's made in house. Honestly you can tell everything is made freshly in house. The place was packed and they had constant to go orders, but we were never forgotten. They still checked on us constantly. Flash forward to present day, I was in the area and several people I was with sang Kenny's graces, said the family is super nice and the food is delicious. I decided to try it again. I placed an order to go, kung pao chicken, sweet and sour pork, salt and pepper chicken wings. The kung pao chicken had an overwhelming amount of peanuts. The pork in the SS pork was tough and hard to chew. The chicken wings were decent. I loved that the restaurant also threw in a complimentary order of fried wontons. Overall not an awful experience but also not a place I would frequent. My only issue is we ordered lo mein on their website but the noodles were clearly like ramen (far thinner than I've had in the past).
