    B.L.T.

This one is off the beaten path! If you blink, chances are you missed it. It's small. The décor of the place is similar to a man cave or she shed. The inside needs some work: holes in the ceiling, AC had spray foam around it to keep the wind out. Typical diner menu. Prices looked reasonable. Love that they serve S.O.S. and have fun with different names for down sizing it and up sizing. I ordered the B.L.T. First diner I've been to that didn't put mayo on both slices of bread. The bacon made up for it! Menu stated smoked bacon, and dang if it wasn't good! $11.11 for the meal and a pop. Not bad. I was in and out within 20-25 minutes. Place looked half full.

Great food. The staff and service are amazing. The vibes in there are also so fun and old fashioned, and frankly I don't mind the swearing from the staff. I come here after opening day of deer season and I love it every single time. I got 2 breakfast sandwiches for $8.88!!! So great!!

It's sad that I drove past this place for 6 years and never stoped, (sorry, I was working) I had the Old fashioned patty melt. They NAILED IT! Perfect rye bread... onion rings are great and so are the mushrooms! I shall return.

Biscuits & gravy was very runny luke warm milk and little chunks of sausage, the biscuits were very small, (size of fork top). Absolutely gross tasting. Also messed up my kids and husbands order.Gave my husband onions when he said no onions ( when he can't have them) , and couldn't comprehend that the burger was no supposed to have them, she kept trying to have my son(which his was no onion and no pickles) to trade his burger with his dad so she wouldn't have to take it back. Won't come back, made for a bad Fathers Day lunch. Would of gave no stars but wouldn't let me .

Good prices, friendly staff, and good food. All you'd expect from a roadside little diner.

Great food. Burgers were amazing and nice people. Would definitely go there again. I did carry out but probably should have called ahead.

The first thing you notice when you walk in is the smell, I know it's an old building, and that comes with the territory, but it's definitely noticeable. The food was disappointing. I ordered a patty melt, which was dry and bland. The one highlight was the jalapeño poppers, those were actually amazing. Our waitress was very sweet and helpful, but things went downhill when there was an error on my tab. She couldn't void it, so asked me to come back later to talk to the owner and he would fix it for me. He was extremely passive aggressive and visibly annoyed about fixing the issue. He made several "jokes" that didn't really feel like jokes, including an out of place comment about the company I work for, saying that if I got in trouble for a Ginger beer charge on my receipt (it was actually a ginger ale, rung in as ginger beer), I should find another job.  He seemed annoyed because Ginger beer is not an alcoholic beverage, which I already knew, but I even had to explain to him that I worked in HR for my company and needed to follow rules. I shouldn't have to explain myself to a vendor. It is my right as a customer to have an accurate receipt and definitely not my fault that as a business owner, he didn't learn how to operate his POS. Overall, not a great experience. Between the smell, poor food, and uncomfortable interaction with the owner, I won't be coming back.

Upon arriving in the small town of Concord (population 1,200) after the first 11 miles, we were thrilled to see the breakfast cafe on Main Street open for business. My wife and I have been loyal customers of this little cafe when bike riding through Concord over the past 10 years. During that period, it was known by two other names: the Silver Spoon Cafe and the Concord Cafe. Unfortunately, like so many small restaurants, this eatery closed its doors during the year of the pandemic. Riding up today, we noticed the familiar purple awning on Main Street still proclaims "The Concord Cafe". However, after changing hands and getting an interior facelift, it re-opened 30 days ago (May of 2021) as Mel's Place! After walking in the door, we quickly met the new owner Mel...short for Melinda. We enjoyed chatting with her about the renovation she did in exposing the hundred year-old brick in the minimalist and spotless dining room. We then got down to business ordering a pair of Veggie Omelettes with sliced tomatoes and raisin toast while nursing our fresh brewed cups of hot coffee. Our breakfasts at Mel's were spectacular...just like they had been over the years when we had patronized this small business under previous owners. For this Yelper, a delicious breakfast halfway through a 22-mile bike ride is a great motivator. Based on the excellent quality food and friendly small-town service, I expect Mel's Place to quickly build a solid reputation among the many recreational bikers that frequent the Falling Waters Trail. Five stars all day long.
