10/20/21 We are headed to California on the I-10 just desperately trying to get through this massive 800 plus miles of Texas. Man oh Man! The roads go on and on and on. Hubby says, "there's a Chevron." Pull in, I say. I had my mind on Coffee. That's all I need to help me get through this night of driving. I had to look at my empty cup just now, to verify the name of the gas station. KENT KWIK!!!! Well, the verdict is in on your coffee. Medium roast with cream and sugar. 5 STARS. It tasted so fresh, hot and amazing and I'm a Starbucks snob. So yummy. I hope it keeps me up tonight. The Middle Aged woman that said she used to live in Blythe Ca struck up a nice conversation, with me. She was friendly and efficient. They said Texans aren't friendly. Well now I know she had California roots. LOL! She's nice. All in all, Bathrooms we're excellent clean, and the store well stocked for looky Lou's. The coffee tho! It sounds like it grinds the bean and then brews it. It's so fresh and delicious. read more

The Kent Kwik is your average West Texas filling station, nothing really to recommend it. But if you do come here, make sure to try the spam burritos! If you are heading west, stop here or somewhere else in Fort Stockton to fill up, otherwise you will run out of gas, or have to turn back after 20miles to fill up. I'm a fairly seasoned traveler; I've been hither and yon, and seen the best and the worst of highway gas stations. This place wasn't terrible, if you were to judge by the usual standards; passable restrooms, gasoline pumps that work, snacks that didn't expire in the 80s. That said, the people are dicks. I'm not sure if the group (Group? Gaggle? Swarm?) of ladies behind the counter were owners or just workers, but when I entered the place, they were in the middle of an all-out war. Names were called, insults to family were rolled out, and I thought they were going to throw punches. They switched from English to Spanish a couple of times, too, which was actually kind of impressive. When I left the bathroom they were still at it. I escaped into the attached Burger King (don't even think about it, unless you're keen on a whopper with a side of flies; that place was filthy), and bailed from there to head back to the truck. On my way back out, however, I remembered I wanted to grab a crossword puzzle book, so I held my breath and went back in. I made a quick circle; they were no longer arguing, and were now conspiring to go smoke a cigarette. (Really? Who still smokes these days? Be a responsible adult and switch to an e-cig.) meanwhile, customers were stacking up almost to the door and the poor bastard manning the register was signaling for help (some complex math problem, I'm sure). One of the ladies trundled over, still engrossed in her conversation, to bail the guy out. Meanwhile the second register stayed empty and people continued to queue up. I decided that even if they had a crossword puzzle book (they didn't), I wouldn't buy it from them. read more

I'm not sure why others left such bad reviews the cashier was friendly, the pumps worked nicely, diesel was priced well, and it had the Peace Tea I like to buy. Ohm and did I mention the bathrooms were very cold (air conditioning works really good here) and clean? read more

Gas convenient to I10, though the on/off to I10 is a little weird. Amex credit card ok at pump.

Credit card reader at gas pump doesn't work. Would be nice if there was a sign on the pump but you have to wait and hear about it from the slack toothed yokel behind the counter. read more

Fun little spot off the highway in Fort Stockton, TX. Great place to buy games and snacks if you start to get bored on the road. They also have casino entertainment for the more adventurous ones out there. No frills gas area. Would recommend. read more
