But them suddenly one morning (just a few hours before kids' long awaited doctor's s appointment of course!) my Honda van won't start...it seemed like my battery was down. I called couple of mechanic shops but none of them could squeeze me in for same day check up. But when I called the State Automotive and explained them my situation, Dustin told me that they will do an inspection on my battery ASA I reach them and will change it if needed. Long story short...after going there I found out that the previous mechanic who changed the battery and gave me a "Napa" battery (found the info in the receipt), & then charged me for it and the service in 2017 actually DID NOT replace my original Honda battery from 2013 :/ When I asked, Dustin was super nice and took pictures of the old battery and wrote a description for me so I can show that to the old mechanic and texted me those later that day. I really appreciate the help and (quick) service they provided me that day, and thanks to them I was able to make to the doctor's appointment on time :) Thank you so much for all great service! Will definitely recommend them to my friends and family, and I'll be going back myself as well. #ServiceStarShoutOut

They told me my car was great and didn't need any additional work. I feel extra good about going on a road trip now! AND they have free hot cocoa. Any place with a free treat means my kids aren't mad about coming with me and waiting! PS- their parking lot is pretty "intimidating" (employee's words) but they were cool with me abandoning my car where there was space and at the end they helped me get my car into position for an easy exit so don't be afraid to ask! They should have known (as all mechanics know) that you need an alignment AFTER struts. So, they wasted $160 and a full day without a car. Then, I got home and realized the alignment statistics show the exact same measurements BEFORE the alignment as AFTER the alignment. So - they didn't even do an alignment and still charged me. When I reported the first issue to them, they finally admitted their mistake and said they would REFUND my money..... well, they didn't do that either. THIS SHOP WILL MISLEAD, STEAL AND DO WORK YOU DON'T NEED. DO NOT TRUST THIS SHOP.

My car's AC had recently started to blow hot air. I took it to the Honda Dealership in SLC in…read moreattempt to have a Honda parts warranty cover the repair or Honda customer service cover it. I was charged $200 for the diagnostic test to identify that my compressor needed to be replaced since it was overheating internally and had melted coils (had a shaft seal leak too which is under warranty with Honda but still couldn't get the diagnostic test fee waived after protesting it). Honda customer service put up a fight to cover the compressor replacement since they didn't know if the shaft seal leak or the compressor overheating internally happened first. Dealer quoted over $3,200 to fix the problem and all the parts are on back order. I called up Chuck's based on a friend's recommendation and spoke to Rocky. Right off the bat, he radiated honesty. He took the time to listen to my rambling of what I thought was wrong with my car and gave me a very fair quote compared to another shop in the South SLC area. The day I dropped my car off, I called one more time beforehand to ensure this shop would be a good fit. I spoke to Rocky again who reassured me that he didn't want the dealer's diagnostic report, the dealerships can be dishonest, and that he wanted to take a look and diagnose the problem himself to ensure he could fix my car properly. I dropped my car off within an hour after the phone call. Drop off was super smooth, I didn't need to give out a lot of personal information, and I was able to have a family member meet me at the shop to take me home. Turnaround time was about one business day. It turns out the Honda diagnosis matched Chuck's shop diagnosis but I didn't have to wait on parts to come in and the repair cost almost HALF of what the dealership quoted me. Rocky was very easy to work with and had a lot of patience with me over the phone. His quote matched what I ended up paying. I highly recommend this shop if you can have a ride set up to pick you up and drop you off to have your car worked on. Now I am ready to enjoy the summer heat with some ice cold AC! I'm not made of money so this took me out of "how am I going to pay bills this month" to a way less stressed out place. honesty goes super far in my book, if you're the same, this place is for you.
