My first time here since switching new insurances and had to come here for myself (dry, wheezy…read morecough, with mild congestion). Considering it is the cold months, it wasn't busy coming in on a weekday mid afternoon (they close at 8pm daily). Office was very clean. Wait time wasn't too bad (15mins that's including the time I had fill out paperwork). Staff were very welcoming, nice and patient. They ask that you kindly wear a mask if you don't show up with one (no biggie!). I knew I would have some sort of respiratory issue but wasn't expecting bronchitis. I saw the NP and she was so nice and thorough. Administered an injection, breathing treatment while I was there, and ordered the recommended medications for further treatment. Overall my experience there went really great and so happy I got to come. I felt seen and heard - oppose to other urgent care places where you're rushed out the door. Thank you for taking care of me.

I just started coming to this facility, and I really like it!…read more I've only had the pleasure of meeting my PCP doctor once, but can tell she's a very good doctor, takes the time to listen and ask questions & was just an easy person to talk to and open up with. I had a broken foot so she ended up putting in an (expedited) referral to see the foot specialist, which just so happened to be located on the second floor! The very next day the referral was approved and the podiatrist office (foot doctor) was calling me to set up an appointment for THAT following day... Super fast! I've seen the podiatrist a handful of times since then, and he's a really cool guy as well! Communicates well and definitely has your best interest at heart! Pretty funny guy too! I've also gotten my blood taken here per my doctor's request, and have had several foot x-rays done here as well, I love that everything is located in ONE building!! The building isn't even super huge either! so it's easy to navigate around. They even have an ER! Plus I've noticed that they're hardly ever busy! It's pretty much empty every time I've come! wait times are no longer than 10 minutes at the most. My last appointment I was 30 minutes early and they were able to get me in right away! Just seems to good to be true lol. Friendly staff, clean facility, so grateful to have Dr Raju (her nickname) as my PCP and BFMC as my doctors office. -The end.

I recently met…read moreCardiologist/ Electrophysiologist Dr. Micah Roberts and he is so knowledgeable, professional, listener, great at explaining everything regarding cardiology related. The main reason I have been referred to Dr. Roberts is because my current Dr. Desai has moved on into another role and doesn't see patients. I also had questions regarding ablation process which was directed to Dr. Roberts who has 15 years plus in experience. Between both Cardiologist Dr. Desai and Dr. Roberts you are in the best hands ever! They both genuinely care for their patients and very approachable people persons. Trust me, now days these traits in doctors are very hard to find. Now, the Kaiser office is very clean and fast paced to get you in to be patient seen as a patient. However, the parking has never been bad, but now it gets very busy over the years. I'm not sure if more population has moved to Bakersfield now? The parking can be a pain for a small town, however depending on time and day the parking lot gets really full. All nurses that check you in have been very courteous. The office experience has never been bad. If you ever need a good cardiologist I've named two that are the best! Trust me.

Kern Medical - NICU nurses, our baby, and us when we were discharged to go home

I'll admit that we initially had some concerns based on what we had heard and read beforehand. However, our experience ultimately exceeded every expectation. The labor and delivery turned into a very intense and emotional situation. Our baby had the umbilical cord wrapped around his neck and went into distress, requiring an emergency C-section. It was a frightening moment, but the medical team acted quickly, decisively, and with incredible skill. Looking back, we truly believe their actions made all the difference and may have saved our baby's life. After delivery, our baby spent three weeks in the NICU recovering from respiratory issues, a staph infection, and learning how to feed. During that time, the NICU doctors and nurses were nothing short of extraordinary. They were compassionate, attentive, and endlessly patient--not only caring for our baby but also guiding us as new parents. They took the time to teach us techniques and build our confidence, which made the transition home so much smoother. What stood out most was how genuinely supported we felt. The team treated us with kindness and respect, and by the end of our stay, we truly felt like we had formed meaningful connections with them. We always felt that our baby was in capable, caring hands. Today, our baby is thriving, and we are deeply grateful. We have complete confidence in the care we received at Kern Medical's Labor & Delivery and NICU, and we will always appreciate the role they played in giving our child such a strong start.

This is easily the worst ER for quality medical care. I brought my boyfriend in because severe pain…read moremade it impossible for him to care for himself or speak. His condition caused uncontrolled muscle spasms, making it hard to hold still for blood pressure checks. Instead of showing the slightest patience and compassion, the check-in nurse treated him like a kid putting on a show, repeatedly snapping orders at him. When I tried to politely step in and speak for him since we were just watching him struggle to get a word out, she slowly turned her head at me and rudely said, "I asked the patient, not you. Let him answer." We then waited 4 hours in the lobby just for a pre-evaluation. Despite seeing other patients bringing their partners along with them while being called back, staff yelled "Just you though" when calling him back. I found it odd, but just let it be. The medical evaluation itself was completely incompetent. They gave him a urine cup and he had agreed to draw blood, yet they never actually drew his blood, never ran scans, never took X-rays, or even discussed his urine results. I was recently diagnosed with the same diagnosis he came back with. It is a severe GI condition that requires a GI cocktail and specific medication, but they gave him a IV for "dehydration," provided no actual treatment for his diagnosis, and sent him home. To top it off, he received a $3,000 bill for zero meaningful medical care. Staff negligence was everywhere. At one point while I was waiting for him in the lobby, two patients stood waiting at check-in while staff walked out to get Starbucks without acknowledging them. Ten minutes later, someone finally peeked out and rudely asked, "Do you guys need something?" Please do not risk your health here. As someone who only writes reviews when something is either really good or really bad, I would highly recommend to avoid this hospital at all costs.
