It really takes a lot for me to feel comfortable with a doctor, while living in Delano I had only two doctors. When moving to Bakersfield in 2008 I relied on my wife to locate a great family doctor. When we originally started coming to Mohawk Medical we were seen by a PA who is no longer with them. We transitioned over to Dr. Deltoro-Diaz and I was very appreciative of the type of care she provides. Since a teen I struggled with weight issues and even had weight loss surgery 2001, so when I had to move to a new doctor, all of the unpleasantness came into play. I always hated when a doctor would not listen to what I am going through but with Dr. Deltoro-Diaz, she listened and talk through it all. Besides my doctor, the staff is always extremely friendly and welcoming. It wasn't until recently that one of the staff just didn't seem motivated to answer some questions I had regarding my insurance and authorizations. When it comes to ones own health, you cannot tread lightly with it and when it comes to your wife and kids, you want the very best care possible. That is exactly what we have received under Dr. Deltoro-Diaz's care. I have been a patient here for quite awhile now and my whole family comes here. Our Dr. is Dr. Deltoro-Diaz. Dr. Deltoro-Diaz is an amazing physician. She has taken wonderful care of my whole family and continues to help us and treat us with the best care. I have also been a patient of their PA Scott Buis and he has also been wonderful. Both providers work very professional and make you feel at ease and comfortable. I can count on the doctors here to help me with the best of their ability. The front desk staff is also great. Celi, Julia and Alicia are really nice. I don't always get the perfect appointment and things don't always go smoothly, but majority of my experience here has been wonderful. If I had any complaint it would be their billing department not handling my account properly and the negative encounter with their office manager, which I don't want to address in details. All in all, I would recommend family and friends here because the providers are caring, professional and very willing to help you. read more

i've delayed yelping on this office but the time has come to do so. i have no issues with Dr Morasca, only with his staff, specifically, front desk staff. i'm not a new patient but have been coming here for nearly five years. i find them to be rude, inconsiderate, and better suited to work in an environment where customers could be shielded from them. today with a new temporary policy of social distancing asa result of covid19, customers are asked to sign in outside and then wait outside for assistance. as a long time patient and not expecting this, i went inside because one of the signs led me to believe that i should go inside. ok, my mistake. this was my first experience with this new, temporary policy. i was then rudely accosted by staff and directed to leave the waiting room, complete paperwork outside, and sit in my car to wait, wait, and wait. that was 50 minutes ago. their rudeness and inconsideration has been experienced before. a couple of years ago i had a hip fracture and dislocation. i had surgery and required three weeks hospitalization. three days after i was discharged i came here to see Dr Morasca. i was still just relearning how to walk, and required a walker. i had to STAND in the waiting room for 45 minutes. all the chairs in the waiting room were taken. being in obvious discomfort, i asked the front desk off there was perhaps a chair available in the back office that could be available for me. i was told "no", but that Dr Morasca would see me as soon as he could. really? that's a horrendous way to treat a patient. read more

I appreciate the staff and my primary care provider. They all take my concerns and issues seriously and do the best they can to understand and help me ensure I am living my most healthiest life. I am not located on this side of town but the treatment I receive here is worth the 30 min drive. On the other hand, wait times are ridiculous. On average i will wait 30 mins to 40 mins after my appointment time to get called in, then another 10 to 20 minutes to be seen by my doctor. I have been going to this doctor office for years now and will continue as I feel that the service and treatment overrules their absurd wait times and other medical offices practices. read more

I came in during my lunch. My apt time was 12:45 I was called to the back at 1:15. It's now 1:58 and I still haven't been seen!! Doc came in at 2:18 and was done by 2:25. read more

I waited an hour and ten minutes to been seen by Dr. Deltoro-Diaz for three minutes. I wish three minutes was an exaggeration but its not.... Shes very nice and I feel like she has good intentions. I don't think its her fault that I waited so long but its just so frustrating to feel like my time is invaluable. I have to have some testing done and then go back and she will go over the results with me. I am hoping she'll have a little more time at that appointment. read more

Dr. Del Toro-Diaz is the nicest in the office. The rest are men and I have never been treated more rudely. I feel I have been treated as a hysterical female when I have had a drastic decrease in quality of life and let them know. I have since had imaging results show that something is wrong. My husband went there on his lunch break and it was over an hour before he went into the examination room. He had to leave without being seen to go back to work. This office makes me feel bad for advocating to be seen soon when my family is ill and suffering. It feels like the doctors are seeing too many patients and are too overwhelmed to care for individuals. I have found myself using the local urgent care a lot because I do not want to have deal with advocating for my family's needs while caring for sick children. I have found it stressful to be one of their patients. read more

Dr Morasca and his staff are all amazing. They care about the patients and are very accommodating . I have been a patient for 4 years and am always pleased with the care I get. From the check in process with Marney to the nurse then the actual appointment with Dr Morasca is always smooth. This office cares for its patients. read more
