I'm on a seemingly never ending quest to find Garret quality popcorn in the suburbs. I was in Geneva this week and stumbled upon this place and decided to give it a try. As always I went for the Chicago mix, the best popcorn flavor out there. Price was reasonable, I paid about $10 for a gallon sized bag of the popcorn and for they pretty much nailed that Garret's taste that I love so much. The store is pretty tiny and they have a few other things, but for the most part it's a popcorn shop. Not too bad if you're in the area and want some popcorn. They do have other flavors, but I didn't really concern myself with those, Chicago Mix all the way. read more

Whats weird is that I'm not the biggest fan of popcorn, but one of my patients brought this in as a thank you, and as I was licking the bottom of the tin, I realized it is DELICIOUS! Try the multi flavor tin they have in Cheesy, Caramel, and Movie! Its not your typical holiday pass around popcorn tin. read more

The traditional, Chicago style half cheese and half caramel is awesome. It is as good as Garett's. Grab some of this before you get on the train. If you don't like it you can get some Garett's at Ogilvie. read more

There's only so much you can say: gourmet popcorn. And it's superbly good. Squeeze into the tiny shop, smell the delicious smells, and take home a bag of cheezy pop or the awesome kettle corn. Then: try not to eat it all in one sitting. Good luck. read more

Immaculate store. Carmel corn is wonderful. Cheese corn could be a little tiny bit more salty, to match the Garrett's experience. Alone, it's perfect but it could be saltier to mix with the carmel in the "combo mix." All popcorn is radiantly fresh. Packaged in simple ziplock bags which work well both for storage and for gifts. Not cheap, but compared to other treats, very well-priced for the wonderful greasy orange-fingered experience. Nice choices elsewhere in store, but I wish some of the nut offerings were roasted/unsalted. read more

Over the years I have worked off & on in downtown Chicago and grabbed some Garretts classic cheese/carmel mix downtown before heading on the train back home. When this great little gem on 3rd street in downtown Geneva opened I was excited to get the same popcorn locally. The Kernels popcorn is much better then Garrett's and the $$ & serving size is better as well. I was there recently and picked up a small which lasted me for 12 servings. After bringing back their original CHEESE CORN recipe, Kernel's is once again KING of CHEESE CORN. Garret was similar years ago, but changed their recipe(dry), and cannot compare to KERNEL'S. Am i a cheese corn expert? No, but i've eaten Garrets for over 50 years. read more

I used to think that Garret's popcorn was the beat, until I tried Kernels. It was so good that I sent my relatives popcorn for Christmas. Kernels were really easy to work with, my popcorn was delivered a few days after I placed my order, the shipping cost was less expensive than Garrets. I used to go to Garrett's eons ago. I began working in Sycamore and Cassies's popcorn was the best. Now I work in Batavia, Kernels has good flavor and less kernels in the popcorn. Cassie's cheese is more cheesy and her caramel is n\more real buttery-but Kernel's has less kernels in their mixes-in fact, there were none in my bag. I would rather pay for popcorn and not hard kernels. And of course Chicago style is the best-est. Thanks!! read more

I moved out of state and this is one of the places I always make sure to go to when back in town. The location is nice, with all sorts of cute stores on the same street. I get the carmel/cheese mixed kind-so delicious! If you don't finish the amount you buy-put it in a ziplock-then it will last a while. read more

I love Carmel corn and have tried it all over the USA in my travels. This is the best I have ever had. I force myself not to buy it more than once a month. It is just too good and its easy to over indulge with this great treat. read more

The popcorn is ok. The cheese popcorn is a bit greasy and the caramel popcorn has a molasses taste. The popcorn is ok but I've had better. My husband and I love the chocolate covered almonds. The price is pretty high for the amount of popcorn that you get. I love trying new popcorn places but I don't think I'll be going back anytime soon if at all. read more

Kernel's if our go-to place for sweets and snacks around town. Their Cheddar Caramel mix is my favorite and I like it better than Garrett's. The White Cheddar and Movie Popcorn (made with just coconut oil) are a close second. And Kettle Corn would be third. It's ALL good. They have fun treats and drinks as well. They are reasonably priced and I've used them often for gifts. They ship too and I love sending local gifts to out of town family and friends. If you haven't stopped in when in Geneva, do! We gave small bags of caramel as wedding favors and they were a huge hit. Kernel's did a terrific job of packaging 165 bags of freshly made caramel corn with labels. The quality and flavor of the is the best I've ever had, and wedding guests all raved. I am so disappointed - this location in Geneva was a monthly favorite visit of mine. My son and I had such a taste for it today, son we decided to take a ride there since it was such a beautiful day today. Purchased 2 bags of cheese popcorn and 4 bags of the mix (Caramel and Cheese). they pack the popcorn into the bags so tightly that all of the cheese popcorn turns to crumbs. Great flavor but who wants 6 bags of crumbs. We were so excited to go there but we were all so disappointed with what we received. read more

This is absolutely the best place to get popcorn. it is very fresh and tasty and there is a great variety to choose from. the caramel and the cheddar cheese are the best ones there in my opinion. at certain times they are very busy but they do well at moving the line long. read more

Kernel Fabyan's is one of the reasons I'm proud to live in Geneva. I was standing in line the day they opened their Geneva shop and I'm proud to say that they have always maintained the quality of their products.
