I love Kesslers, for example the one by South ridge is great and has great customer service. Always smiling, excited with me throughout the process offers drinks, makes me feel special. The one in Germantown has consistently been awful. Miranda has always been kind and helpful however everyone else I encounter always makes me feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. I have been there 3-4 times in the past few months and made purchases every time and have always felt unwelcome and not like a special experience at all(Miranda was always good). They never offered drinks when we would arrive, would hardly smile, seemed annoyed to assist us. We would always be happy as we were buying for special reasons and special people and never walked away like we were happily served, welcomed or taken care of. I wondered if I should review but after consistently feeling like an annoyance I had to make a review. I wish this wasnt the location I am closest to. Mitzi helped me pick out my diamonds and design my own ring. She is a truly warm and sincere person. We made numerous visits to the store before we actually purchased. BUYER BEWARE! I bought a three diamond ring from inheritance money. It was "newborn diamonds " . Please , please, please do your research. I spoke with several independent jewelers who stated these stones will not be worth anything if you try to sell them. I went to try to get genuine "mined"diamonds. For a smaller center stone and worse quality, it was $3,000 more dollars. The new diamonds would be I+ clarity HJ color. They were Kessler 81s. Big deal. They are cut with more facets so you don't see all the black spots in the crummy diamond. All their stones are appraised by Kesslers for the amount you paid. Surprise. They are not certified by GIA. I checked into better quality stones for my 3 diamond ring. The total was 5,000$ more than I already spent Please don't make the same mistake I made and waste precious money. read more

Kesslers may tout their diamond quality, but my experience with their basic customer service could have used some improvement. My fiance and I recently visited this store on a Sunday afternoon at 3:30 PM (they close at 4pm on Sundays, perhaps this was the issue?). The woman that helped us was very straightforward verging on curt. When I asked to see a ring (albeit a second time), she literally said rather tersely, "You already tried that one on when you were standing over there." I was thinking, seriously? So I just said, "Okay..." I really did not expect to be restricted from seeing a piece twice, and I certainly felt like that was the case. Kind of odd. I should add, I only tried on 3-4 rings while I was there, so it was not as if I was tearing up the cases trying on everything in sight. It's too bad, because after all the advertising they do to get people in their stores, I was definitely disappointed with this particular member of their sales staff. I have purchased jewelry from Kessler's - diamond earrings for my wife and have sold scrap gold/silver to them. Service for jewelry sales is very good - as the other reviewers stated, they will find something really nice WITHIN your price range. However, service and prices for scrap gold/silver are terrible. I worked with 2 younger female representatives who seemed to not be as familiar with the ins-and-outs of this. In addition, they paid me only about 30% of the going rate where other stores and buyers have been paying upwards of 60-85% of the market price. I know that they need to make a profit but they paid me so little that I felt ripped off. Good thing I only sold a small amount of my scrap gold and silver to Kessler's. They recently moved out of their store in Menomonee Falls to another store in Germantown so I will probably shop elsewhere for jewelry - I know that I will certainly sell my scrap gold and silver elsewhere. read more

My husband and I visited the Germantown location this Wednesday, to look at ladies wedding bands. We were greeted by a receptionist, who asked for our names, which we gave her. She told us where the wedding bands were located, but never mentioned someone would be there to show us any of them. My husband had to use the restroom, so while I waited, no one came. We both waited 15 minutes at the store for someone to acknowledge us, but no one ever did. We came here, because I saw some pretty wedding bands online, but wanted to see them in person, before purchasing one. After 15 minutes, we decided to leave. There were sales people and people at the front desk who worked there, but no one ever came to wait on us. I call this pathetic and rude. Very poorly run place of business. We will not be returning. We have had my husbands ring for almost a year now and it constantly has scratches and scuff marks all over it. Every time we go in and ask for it to be fixed they say there is nothing they can do about it. They clean it and instantly after a cleaning you can still see all the scuff marks and scratches. I find the staff at the Germantown, as well as the Brookfield locations to be both friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Personally the only problem I have ever had with Kesslers is a pair of chandelier diamond earrings my husband bought me that I absolutely hate! I believe they changed their advertising after I came in complaining so many times as to why the guarantee "she's going to love it" did not apply to those earrings?? Still have them, still HATE them! All of my diamond jewelry has come from the Germantown/Menomonee Falls location of Kesslers and I have never had any problems, nor have I ever been charged for cleanings, repairs, replacements of accent stones, anything. All services have been preformed promptly and most definitely up to my satisfaction. Now I have heard several stories to the contrary, and with my sister being one of the literal horror stories, I do know that I am really lucky in regards to Kesslers. Definitely get in writing and over emphasize what you would like to have done. I'm so happy with our experience with Kesslers! My fiancée and I went looking for our rings together. I wanted to have a black center diamond which a lot of places done have. We went into another jeweler that told us we could only order online, which we didn't want to do. We then went into Kesslers and they said any ring could be changed out with a black diamond if that's what I wanted! We found a ring I loved that came without any center diamond, and our sales representative (we had Sue and she is amazing!) took a sample diamond to put in the center and colored it black with a sharpie. Had a diamond fall out of my "wedding band" went to the downtown Milwaukee store, they looked at it and said absolutely we will replace the stone and recommended getting bands soldered together and sent us to the Germantown Store where 2 diamon-ologists confirmed what the downtown team told me. 6 days later I get a phone call from Kesslers, we are not comfortable repairing the ring because of the 1 year warranty and it might fall out again. However, they'd be happy to extract the diamonds and make me a new ring! Horrible service and response. They had no intention of fixing my ring. Total "con job" - it took them 6 days for this? As I was waiting to retrieve my ring the 2 clerks in g-town were giving the lady next to me the same link of bull-crap about the goldsmith being uncomfortable... I have a white gold ring, but if it gets a deep scratch, you can see the yellow gold -- I scratched it and took it in. They sent it off to be re-finished. My boyfriend and I stopped at the Germantown location the end of December. Before we even went in, he said to me if they can't help us then we are never setting foot in their store because you know how I like to buy you jewelry. We walked in and went our separate ways. The store was not busy to say the least. In fact, there were several employees that were standing around the counter near the entrance door. Not once did someone approach either one of us. I had to go up to the counter and interrupt the employees that were standing around talking. I asked if the store had the capabilities to fix a watch. She basically said we don't handle watches here and walked away. My boyfriend walked around looking at engagement rings because we were also planning on purchasing a ring. Since it was apparent to us, that gossiping was more important then helping a customer with questions, we decided to leave. We ended up going to a locally owned jeweler in the Milwaukee area to help us. Their customer service sold us on purchasing from them in the future. Unfortunately, due to our treatment in Germantown, neither one of us will set foot in Kesslers again. My husband got my original engagement ring from Lisa at the Greenfield location, I loved my ring and we loved her! When we went band shopping at the Brookfield store, only the band we loved only came as a set with a new mounting, our consultant at the Brookfield location told me that the new mounting would not be able to house my GORGEOUS Kessler 81 round diamond, so we had to choose a new square diamond. Not being a fan of the princess cut (everybody has one) we settled on a cushion. After being reassured by the consultant that the cushion sparkles like the round, they release an ad touting their new "lightening bolt cushion" saying traditional cushion diamonds DON'T have the same sparkle as most other cuts, THEN I go to get my ring cleaned at greenfield and there is an exact copy of my new ring, housing a ROUND diamond just like the one I was told I had to give up. I have to commend them on their free maintenance, soldering, and diamond replacement, and the excellent experience initially given by Lisa at Greenfield, but I am still a bit sore that I no longer have my original diamond. After expressing my concerns very nicely to the consultant, she had nothing to say other than "thats too bad" in a sympathetic tone. I work in the bridal field and I used to send friends and clients to Kesslers regularly, now I am not so sure that I will continue. read more
