Their ticketing process is horrible. Firstly, the more seats you try to buy together , the more the price per seat goes up. You're basically being penalized for buying more seats. The Keswick Theatre is an interesting spot. It has the charm an old theater possesses and is close enough to Philadelphia to pull in national acts. The parking is difficult in the area but if you get there early or park a couple blocks away you'll be good. Overall, it is a large space, the sound is good, the ushers are nice, but I will say the seats are far from comfortable. read more

Came for a concert on a cold, rainy Friday night. I arrived maybe 20 minutes before the show was set to start and as expected, the lot was full and so were the two smaller lots behind the main lot. I ended up parking in the adjacent neighborhood which wasn't awful (like a 5 minute walk). Security was quick - just had to walk through a metal detector. It was fairly easy to navigate with the help of the ushers; they were all like 20 ft apart so there was plenty of help (and they were all so sweet). I liked that they labeled the aisles to ease finding your seat. For an older theater, I thought it was in fair condition, but I hope they invest in a renovation soon. The seats aren't the most comfortable (limited leg room) and I noticed that they move, so I guess you can adjust your position? It seems like the theater is set in a way where each seat has a view of the stage, but when the concert starts and everyone is standing, you're at a disadvantage if you're short. read more

The Keswick is an old gem in an otherwise ultra-modern world. It's 90 years old and still hosting some great concerts and shows. It's a worn around the edges and could stand a renovation but just looking around at the design, the molding, the staircase, etc. made me wonder what it must have been like going to the theater in 1928; everyone dressed up in their best for an evening out. What fun! We saw the Hooters who never fail to deliver a fantastic show. They played for over 2 1/2 hours. The seats slide forward so your knees are not crushed against the seat in front of you which was a plus. The negative was it was bloody hot in there. It was so humid you could grow ferns and other hot house plants with ease. I guess that's the problem with cramming 1300 seats in a small space. Overall we enjoyed the Keswick which is smack in the middle of Glenside, PA. Such a cute town I plan to go back and investigate it further. The parking however, is a nightmare. They have some parking behind the theaters which is metered during the day. After parking you have to bring your show ticket to the box office within 15 minutes of parking and they will give you a permit for your windshield. When that lot is full you have to park on the street which is what we ended up doing. We had to walk several blocks but the cool air felt good after being in that hot box for nearly 3 hours. read more

Great place to see a show ! We saw the incredible Steve Vai there last week and it was an unbelievably cool experience ! The Keswick has a lot of charm , great seating options and a very helpful staff . The bathrooms are upstairs and are very clean , there is a bar that serves different beers and mixed drinks or coffee and water . Parking is everywhere and within a short walking distance to the theatre . Love this theatre and looking forward to another show there !! read more

Went to the screening of Fargo with William H Macy. Glad I wore jeans/sweatshirt and not anything good because they would have been ruined. I get shown my seat and I look at the usher and go did someone die and rot in that seat? It was beyond disgusting. Same with my husband's it looked like my dead body spilled onto his seat. Seats move and knees go straight into who is in front of you. If you shut the lights off and put on a black light it will light up the auditorium. These seats are a biologic nightmare. The staff was friendly and enjoyable to talk to. read more

I had to check out this theatre for a site visit at work and I was blown away! This fantastic gem of a theatre is located right in the heart of the quaint little town of Keswick. From the road it pops and just ads a nostalgic feel to the street. We walked in to high ceilings and beautiful historic art throughout the lobby. The stage was huge and has a state of the art sound system and lighting. We got to hear the system and it was just spectacular. I felt and heard the same thing in the back row of the theatre as I did in the front row. I can't wait to check out a show or concert here. The whole venue is very worn but that is what gives it character. I felt like the auditorium just radiated the joy from over the years. This place is about to turn 90 years old! They have a ton of shows coming up so go check it out and support this local gem. read more

Not one of my favorite places to see anyone. It is old so I know upgrades will be expensive and hard but a nice coat of paint on the chairs at least would spruce up the place. Cons: 1) The seats can move down but it will severely limit your leg room. 2) The restrooms are upstairs so if you have to go, 'get ta steppin'! 3) The parking lot is small. 4) No air conditioning. Pros: 1) If you get there early enough to park in the parking lot you don't have to pay. Just show your ticket to the person inside the theater and they will give you a piece of paper to put in your car. I know this place used to be nice but it needs to be shut down for 8 months to get some renovations done. read more

Charming, old renovated movie theatre with excellent acoustics. Plenty of leg room and comfortable seats. Saw Chris Isaak here on Dec 1 2022 and it was an excellent event! Well lit, safe neighborhood in quaint old town with friendly staff. (I did not take a purse or cell phone and that did confuse the security people. Apparently you MUST have a CELL PHONE glued to your body to be a live human now days!! But they were very nice if dumbfounded! "Are you sure you don't have a cell phone?" too cute!) We are from Houston Texas and used to BIG, LOUD, LOUD, LOUD venues and this was GREAT. Highly recommend this place. Had lots of exits so could get out quickly after the show. I have had tickets to see Graham Nash at The Keswick for over 2 1/2 year. Due to COVID id has to be reschedule, 2 or 3 times. Each time I was able to get a refund if I wanted. I stuck it out, wanted to see Graham. Then looks like it is a go for March 4th, 2022. I am excited and ready to rock, already schedule my COVID test for the day before. Then I find out you need to show proof of vaccine to get in, I cannot get vaccinated, have an immune deficiency. Needless to say, I was pretty sad, waited a long time. I got ahold of AXS, nice and said they would contact the venue. Two days later, email from The Keswick, Refund Denied, should have bought insurance. What? I can get a refund anytime you reschedule but now I cannot attend because you need me to be vaccinated, wow. I will never attend an event at your venue again. read more

I must thank the staff of the Keswick for being so accommodating and helpful! After breaking my ankle and needing surgery, I was really afraid I'd just have to cancel going to a show. It would have been a shame since I got the tickets for my boyfriend's Christmas present, and I was a bit worried. Luckily, the Keswick promptly emailed back and forth with us and was able to find aisle seats to swap out from my other tickets. As soon as we arrived, every single person working at the Keswick - from the helpful woman outside leading me in to security offering me a seat to the man checking our tickets and letting us know there was a bathroom downstairs to the bar keeper helping me move a chair for me to sit in to the usher moving my crutches-THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH. This has been a frustrating time, and I was so anxious about getting around. You all truly helped so much, and we had an amazing time at a hilarious show!! I highly recommend going to the Keswick Theater, not just for the great talent who's there, but also because of the wonderful people who work there. It really makes a difference and made a difference for me and my boyfriend. read more

It's old, comes off somewhat dirty, and yet still a great place to catch a show! You might not see top acts at the peak of their careers at the Keswick, but you'll surely catch plenty of up-and-coming stars and a few blasts from the past. As such, the prices won't put you in the poor house and should leave you with enough to grab a drink at their bar. The seats are tight, but provide a nice view. The sound is just right, no matter where you sit. Unfortunately, the bathrooms are kind of small and could keep you waiting if you go at peak times. They have a small parking lot and if not it is relatively easy to find parking in town. I have to say, that is a huge plus coming from the city where parking is non-existence and expensive where found. Its walkable from the SEPTA regional rail in case you're not in a driving mood. read more

Went to the Keswick tonight to see Vic Dibitetto and Jay Black. Excellent show , highly recommend. This was my first time at the Keswick and I loved it. The workers were extremely kind and helpful, there was a bar and also snacks to purchase. Very clean also. I especially love how it is an old fashioned theater. Very elegant looking inside. The only complaint i have is about the seats. They are very close together and don't give you much room at all. They need to make them bigger and more spacious. Other than that, loved everything else. Will definitely be back.. read more

Came here recently for the Tower of Power/Average White Band show with my son. We both had a blast. The Keswick is old and in need of repairs...the side walls were covered in a cheesecloth to help stop the crumbling? My son kept pointing out the damage to the top of the stage and you keep wondering if you really want it to be fixed or not? The history of the place shows and I can only imagine what it was like in its glory days. I was in the center about 10 rows back and the instrument sounds were awesome. The vocals were not. It was very difficult to understand the words. If I were going again, I think you might be better off sitting further away from the stage in the center for better sound quality. The chairs are small old school which do recline. My son somehow was able to fit in a nap with ToP blasting away so they must have some type of comfort! It was nice that the staff after the show handed out the soft pretzels for free rather than throw them out. Parking is metered nearby or free in the neighborhood a little bit further away. read more

This theater is a gem in the rough. It isn't anything fancy or modern but I am totally fine with that. It is not a large theater which it makes it a lot more intimate. I went to go see Lauryn Hill in concert and the crowd was so surprisingly diverse..which I absolutely love! Ok back to the theater, the seats are very close to each other so if you are a person that has issues with rubbing elbows with a total stranger this is not the theater for you. The ushers were extremely friendly and had great energy. There was one usher in particular who must have been in his 70's+ and he was full of energy. He was dancing and interacting with crowd. One thing that was alarming, was that no one was checked before going into the theater.. I was with a friend who is in law enforcement and she brought that to my attention.. Although it was nice not being patted down.. It should be done.. Overall I would definitely go back to Keswick Theater.. read more

If you ever went to a concert at your high school auditorium, then you sort of know what you are getting when you walk into the Keswick Theater in Glenside, PA. I don't want you to think that is a bad thing, because this 1300 seat gem was built in 1928. It was rescued from almost certain demolition in 1980 and has filled a niche as a smaller performance venue since then. The anchor of downtown Glenside, I enjoy going to venues that don't make me feel like I just walked into a suburban Wal-Mart. The remodel of the auditorium looks nice. It appears they are still working on the stage area and the seats have some age on them, but are still acceptable. Please be aware that there is no real concession area, but they have crammed a bar area into the foyer of the auditorium. There is no wall dividing the spaces so if your seats are near the rear of the space you may be disturbed by rude patrons that may be talking in the foyer. We visited the Keswick to see Foreigner perform the acoustic interpretation of a good portion of their catalog. It was the perfect, intimate venue with excellent acoustics for a laid back performance such as this. The guys sat on their stools and enthralled the audience for 90 minutes of acoustic bliss. We were in Row A (which is about 10-15 rows from the stage and felt connected with the performers throughout. There is a darker parking lot directly behind the theater and street parking throughout Glenside. A block or two away (if you don't mind the walk) unmetered parking is also available. Support the Keswick - because you don't need to see every artist in a 20,000 seat arena! read more

The Keswick is our favorite performance space, and we are fortunate to have this great asset within a short drive. We have seen a wide array of performances here, from Jeff Beck to Herb Alpert to Michel Legrand to Chris Isaak. The quality of the shows is top notch and the theatre is large enough to draw distinguished performers yet sufficiently intimate so there is no poor seating location in the house. As long as you arrive about 20 minutes before show time, landing nearby, free parking is fairly easy. Two principle concerns are that (1) the seats are in poor condition and are very uncomfortable for taller folks and (2) the theatre is in desperate need of restoration work. The deteriorating proscenium is a depressing sight, as is the lobby. Hoping that the Keswick management undertakes the repairs before it is too late to rectify the neglect. read more

Sound: The sound is very good here. Seating: The seats are small and very uncomfortable. They need an upgrade. Food/Drink: The beer selection is good but not great. Never got food here. Overall: There isn't a bad seat in the house, but those seats aren't that comfortable. Actually the place itself isn't bad at all except for the seating. My biggest problem would have to be its location. I hate driving to this venue since the route from my house to here is horrible. Lots of traffic especially on a week day. Also there are very few pre-game options in the area and the one that was open was jammed packed. read more

Also reviewed as the Keswick Theater. Went here last night, for the first time - saw Richard Thompson & His Band. My brother, who is a real music aficionado, had an extra ticket. First of all, from my perspective, the performance was excellent - in addition to the guitar magic performed by Richard, the drummer was awesome. Most of the show was electric, with two acoustic numbers by Richard. The venue itself is worth the trip. This is an old theatre (been around since 1928) that, in many other towns, would be long gone - replaced by some glass and steel monstrosity or a new strip mall. The whole downtown is picture perfect and the inside of the theatre has been renovated/redone and it looks very nice. Not sure how historically correct it is but the overall effect is very positive. Parking is in short supply so get there a little early to get a spot. I'm usually pretty low-key when it comes to watching a performance and I was rather intrigued when I looked up the theater after the boyfriend told me he bought Ralphie May tickets. It's a pretty cool concept; the whole place is pretty old, it has a double sided staircase to get to the bathrooms, and lots of seating. The attendants weren't bad, but the seats were horrible. For one, they are super close; hopefully you like your neighbor because you'll be bumping elbows all night. Plus the chairs themselves, besides being small, they have two positions: 90 degrees or a few short of 180. Seriously, you'll bump the legs of the people behind you if you try; we did! So besides the nostalgic feeling of watching an assembly from a scrunched hard metal chair, the show was pretty good. read more

The venue seating is a bit tight , but there's not a bad seat in the place. I'm holding tickets right now to canceled shows. Hopefully we can get back to normal soon. read more

Very nice place to see a concert. Good acoustics and a nice, intimate setting with a max capacity of (I think) around 1300 people. We were here for the 80's band "Retro Futura" tour and enjoyed it very much. One note... seats are old, and small. I think they are refurbishing the place, hopefully new seats are on the budget. Other than that, it's a great place for a show. We hope to be back again soon. read more

Recently went to a concert at this venue. I was impressed how quickly it was to enter the venue They did check vaccination cards and picture ID. Masks were required to enter,however once inside most people took them off. The security guard sitting near me had his mask below his chin. In addition , guests were allowed to hang out by the stage with no masks. Unfortunately these unmasked ladies were standing in front of my seat. The unmasked security guard just sat there. read more

I've been to many small venues in Philly and NYC, and comparatively speaking the Keswick is A-OK. Yea, yea, yea, paint chipping, older chairs, yada yada yada...get over it. There isn't a bad seat in the place, the sound system is 5 star, and the indoor temp was fine to me and it did not smell moldy nor like a high school auditorium. Of course I didn't use the restroom, and I was liquored up before I got there so I didn't purchase any adult beverages. So dress down, go to a show and enjoy. BTW, street parking vs. the lots out back, is easy and available, and I only got there 15 minutes before the show. (I saw Jim Jeffries, btw, funny as a motherfucker) read more

First off we went to see the Purple Experience (Tribute Prince Band) and they were 5 starts - FANTASTIC. The crowd was up and dancing from beginning to end. If you have a chance to catch them the next time around GO!! That said there are a few issues if you do go. First the good - parking is free behind the venue but the lot is small. You need to go to the box office to pick up a pass and then bring it back to put in your car window. Otherwise it is $9.00 to get a pass from the machine if you don't feel like making the round trip. Once inside we did have to go through metal detectors and wands. So that is a good thing. The people are friendly and helpful throughout the venue. Now to what gives them 2 stars: The seats! I'm sorry I will not be able to go back to this venue unless I call ahead and they tell me that the seats have been renovated. In my mind it is not reasonable to have to sit like this for hours, especially if you want to move a bit to the music or even scratch your foot. We were fortunate that attendance was light and not sold out (shame for this band as they were amazing!) so eventually when we realized no one else was coming those of us there started fanning out for comfort. If this had been sold out I would have walked out! I cannot believe that I heard they have done some renovations - how could you not start with the seats??????? FYI: the bathroom stalls are very cramped with doors that open right onto the toilets so you have to play jumping games to get in. They also had these rolled up towels along the backsplash I guess to keep leaks at bay?? All in all great sound, great band, funky fun little location, and friendly service but I will never go back :( till they update their seating. read more

Last night was a milestone for me - I saw The Kids in The Hall perform at the Keswick, and lemme tell ya, it was a friggin laugh riot. But that's not the point of this review, now is it? The theater is a little piece o' history, and it's very cool. I like that the seats rock back and forth (so prepare for that when you sit down and look like an ass). They sell concessions in the lobby so you can eat and/or drink while you watch the show. The acoustics were good, and our seats were close enough to the stage that I saw spit flying from The Kids mouths throughout the performance. Minus one star for the partial obstruction of the stage by the ginormous yellow velvet curtain. Although it was a lovely piece of fabric, I'd much rather have seen the left side of the stage. If I had known about it, I'd feel much sweeter, but because it wasn't disclosed, I shed a single tear and then went back to laughing my ass off. read more
