Ate here today with the family. It's a Ketchum landmark so I had to try. First the food was great and the whole family loved it, but the service was horrible. I would have spent a lot more for drinks and desert but after 25 minutes with my dirty dishes sitting in front of me I paid my bill and left! Kicker was the place wasn't even busy. Had reservations for Thanksgiving Eve. The decor had a nice Sun Valley theme and seemed friendly and inviting. The restaurant was not that busy and we were seated promptly. The menu was ok but nothing that interesting. We ordered a bottle of wine (which usually means we want to enjoy ourselves) and were rushed trough the rest of our dinner. The waiter even said to us that dinner was as going to be "fast". That should of been the red flag. We ordered the special cesar salad (mis-spelled on the menu) and then the lemon fettuccine and that was the mistake. I guess we should of waited to order the entree. Dinner was rushed and over in less than 40 minutes. Both things we ordered were not that great and being rushed just put a damper on it. I don't know if having our sleeping baby there signaled to them we wanted to rush but we really wanted to enjoy a nice dinner and sadly, that did not happen. read more

We arrived for an 8:15pm reservation and were unable to get any food until 9:20pm. Our waitress was adequate but not impressive, which went right along with the food. Ketchum Grill seems to be riding on its past laurels and needs to freshen its staff and update its menu. We've gone for several years in a row but have now scratched it from our list of places to go when we visit Sun Valley. read more

Disgusting food - ordered lemon noodles in a cream sauce. I was cups of cream sauce and a handful of noodles. The massive amount of cream sauce made the noodle gooey and inedible. This food actually made me gavomit. Also, Ordered an appetizer which was served in a martini glass. Not very appealing, and it was not very good either. Ketchum Grill was recommended to be by several locals and other tourists. I was expecting an exceptional dinning experience based on the glowing recommendations, but I left disappointed. The food and service were both ok but nothing special and certainly not up to par with other restraints I have true don't the area. Maybe I missed what ever made everyone else I spoke with love the Ketchum Grill but I would not personally recommend eating here. read more

We make an annual trip to Sun Valley to visit with relatives and one of our yearly traditions is a trip to the Ketchum Grill. Started out, it was a highlight of the trip but recently, it's become the low point -- you know, the thing you dread having to do because everyone expects you to do it. It used to be that the rude hostess and crowded/loud atmosphere were balanced out by interesting and well-prepared food. But increasingly less so and after this year's visit, I really do not want to return. The menu is not creative or varied and my lamb sausage over pasta was downright inedible. I took my uneaten portion home so I could verify the next day and "yuk," into the garbage it went. The sausage had cartilage and had an unpleasant flavor. Ditto the overwhelming sauce on the pasta. My tablemates had the lemon rock shrimp pasta which was also heavy handed. The traditional shrimp cakes were as greasy and inedible as ever. The salads were fresh and tasty so, if you go, stick with them. Either inside or outside, the tables are on top of each other and it's downright impossible to hear your tablemates. read more

I booked a table for six people on a Friday night, but ended up needing the change the time. Even though they were full, Ketchum Grill somehow found a way to seat us. I so appreciate their willingness to accommodate their customers no matter what. Oh, and by the way.....the meal and the service was outstanding. That why we keep going back!! read more

This was our first time in Sun Valley and really loved the town. On our 2nd night, we had dinner at the Ketchum Grill. The restaurant is very charming and welcoming, but the food wasn't great. We ordered the shrimp wrapped with bacon, and were disappointed by the blandness of the dish. Simply nothing special. My husband had the slow food Coq au Vin, and was very disappointed by the lack of flavor depth of the sauce and non-crisp skin. I had the spinach salad with grilled chicken, which came with a very oily dressing on the side (had to request a different type of dressing). Molten chocolate lava cake and ice cream (unknown flavor) was very uninspired and unmemorable. Must have been because there wasn;t enough chocolate in the cake. We've had better elsewhere. One of my favorite places in town especially with out of town guests. It's located in the heart of town in an historic building with lots of charm. Very good food reasonably priced. The rock shrimp cakes and the lamb shank are my favorites. The only downsides are that the wine list is a bit limited and focuses too much on Northwest wines for my taste and it can be a bit noisy when full. read more

I like good food but am not a 'food person' and usually can't recall a meal two days after I ate it. Given that, it is remarkable that I expect to be remembering the meatloaf I had at Ketchum Grill a month from now. It was incredible, and the lamb stew that my father had was just as good. We made reservations for the Monday before Christmas. We made it days in advance and they were already booked for the week for the most part. THey still made a huge effort to get our party of 8 a reservation and succeeded. Great for us. THis place is an historical home in downtown Ketchum. The staff was VERY friendly and knowledgeable. ALL 8 of us were absolutely thrilled with our dishes. We had everything from trout to pasta to burgers. It is the first place I will make a reservation next year when we return, but I will call from home several weeks before!! I can not recommend this place enough! read more

We've been excited to try the Ketchum Grill for the last couple of years and just seemed to keep picking other restaurants for some reason. This was our time to try it and we were fairly disappointed with the food. It straddled the line of complain worthy and we had good service. (yes I know, so we came to write an average Yelp review) Still, the Ketchum Grill had some high points for us. We reserved easily via opentable, we were accommodated with outdoor seating per our request, the place is lovely, and though we seemed to be on revolving waiters they were all friendly and for the most part, attentive. Good wine list and a good looking menu (offerings). The prosciutto wrapped shrimp hors d'oeuvre were good and the bread was good. Sides and sauces were pretty good, though not great. However our proteins were just not good. My steak was cooked properly (med-rare) however it was very tough and just not good at all - a poor piece of meat. Again, not horrendous, but should have had a better cut for this restaurant and price point. (I had a Costco New York Strip I cooked camping two nights before that blew this out of the water). My wife had the Duck and it wasn't as other reviewers have described it. We've had plenty of Duck Breast and this just wasn't good. About 1/3 of it was fairly tender and the rest was either tough or rubbery. Hadn't had a Duck breast like that before. Finished it off with a Creme Brulee that seemed severely lacking in Vanilla and the burnt crust was gummy over much of it. We were disappointed, but not upset. I'm always impressed with the excellent food and unpretentious feel here. All of the courses were top notch and not as expensive as I expected at a resort town. The shrimp & pasta in cream sauce is heavenly - I've never had shrimp so tender that were fully cooked. It is a little noisy, but the service was excellent. read more

I was debating between a 3 and 4 star, but decided to be generous. Let's start with the positives: food is great here. I had the corned beef and cabbage special, and I tried the prosciutto pizza and the swordfish special - all of which I thought was delicious. Atmosphere is cozy, and I didn't get the feeling that it was too tight like some of the other reviews. Now the negatives: my only complaint was the service. Our waitress lacked in personality, at best. We ordered starter salads (there's only two options on the menu) and two-thirds of our orders came out wrong. They offered to correct the mistake, and then never brought out the salads - we had them cancelled fifteen minutes later. Also, not as big of a problem, but the beer selection is limited - mostly wines offered here. If you can get past the service, I'd recommend this place for their interesting food options, which they do quite well and the prices are reasonable (about $75/couple). read more

Perhaps my expectations are too high but I have experienced 5-star restaurant food and service before, even in resort towns. Unfortunately, our dinner at Ketchum Grill last night was not nearly as good as we would have expected given all the glowing reviews on Yelp. The service was very friendly and attentive. The atmosphere very good as well. I was disappointed with the food, though. Both my wife and I ordered from the nightly special menu in hopes of getting something a bit unique and, well, special. My steak entree was overlooked and terribly over salted. The new potatoes had been in the oven all evening and almost too crunchy to eat. My wife ordered the pasta dish with wild mushrooms. It lacked the kind of harmonious flavor one would expect from a chef's own creation. Overall it was just blah. Nice that we could book the table via Open Table. Always convenient and they get the name right. We'll try a few other places before we'd go back here. read more

Went to Ketchum for the first time and had dinner at the Ketchum Grill. Myself and a couple in our party had the daily steak special. Frankly I have had a better steak at sizzler. The steak was chewy and did not have flavor. The service was also poor, thr waitress was not helpful and rude. I will note someone in our party have the lemon shrimp pasta and liked it. Overall the food was subpar for the price. I will definitely not be going back. read more

This is one of my 2 favorite restaurants in Ketchum. I have gone there 3 years in a row while on my skiing vacation. They have great food, reasonable prices, and good service. What more could you ask for after a long day of skiing in such a beautiful resort? Can't wait until next year to enjoy their hospitality once again. read more

What happened? this used to be our "go-to" place in Ketchum, and we were very disappointed. My sole was good, but my husband's pasta bolognese special was dry and flavorless. And it turned out our friends went the next night and were so disappointed they sent the bolognese back. read more
